    Red Wings: Aces of the Sky is a surprisingly addictive game. It is a prime example of a very simple gameplay loop executed extremely well. It is a focused experience and I think that is for the best.

    This game is only getting 'average' ratings and I understand why. It is true that the gameplay loop is quite repetitive, some of the missions are annoying, and some missions towards the end can seem impossibly unfair at times... BUT, I like this game! It took me 6 hours to complete all 50 missions (25 German, 25 Allied). Some missions were certainly VERY challenging but it does feel greatThis game is only getting 'average' ratings and I understand why. It is true that the gameplay loop is quite repetitive, some of the missions are annoying, and some missions towards the end can seem impossibly unfair at times... BUT, I like this game! It took me 6 hours to complete all 50 missions (25 German, 25 Allied). Some missions were certainly VERY challenging but it does feel great when you work out a 'winning strategy' (and you may get a bit lucky) and you finally beat that level and progress. There are planes and decals and skill tree items to unlock along the way and the core gameplay is fun and exciting. The in game graphics are also really impressive, your plane handles well, and the levels are all pretty short and sharp which makes this game perfect for playing in short bursts. I picked this up on sale for $7.50 and I feel like I got a bargain. If you like the look of the game trailer I encourage you to give this a try. Red Wings has it's faults but I still enjoyed my 6 hour experience and I am highly likely to come back to replay this in a few months because it is a really fun game to play!… Expand

    This is a good game. Not a great game by any means. I bought it on sale for $5 and was pretty happy with it.

    Red Wings biggest sin resides in its little varied offering, but it does right a lot of things: campaign can be played in coop, the action is intense and joyful, it has some interesting mechanics... It's a shame that it doesn't offer more types of missions and modes.

    Red Wings: Aces in the Sky surprised me. I went in with low expectations and found a fun arcade shooter that does a lot of things well. It works as advertised and can provide some fun but short-lived action moments that detail the story of the Red Baron during WWI. Fans of the subject matter will certainly get a few decent hours out of the game, but the experience is severely held back by a lack of variety in almost all areas. If you're not into WWI or arcade shooters, Red Wings probably won't keep you entertained for too long, but it is a solid experience that does most things well enough for a quick rush of adrenaline on your Switch.
