    You could certainly do a lot worse than R.B.I. Baseball '18. For those looking for a baseball game with real MLB teams and players, you have literally no alternative outside of the PlayStation 4-exclusive MLB The Show, so if you can tolerate the unimpressive visuals and unbalanced gameplay, you might have a fair to decent time with R.B.I.

    There is some fun to be had here for the die-hard baseball fan. It's an arcade , bare-bones style of baseball which is fine, but don't think your'e getting an equivalent to something like The Show. Things like GM mode and home run derby are nice additions to the '18 version, but they are pretty shallow. Be aware of some major bugs and long load times also; these didn't ruin the experienceThere is some fun to be had here for the die-hard baseball fan.     If you’re going in expecting RBI Baseball 18 on the Switch to rival MLB The Show, you’ll be sorely disappointed. For that matter, if you’re hoping for a game to rival Super Mega Baseball 2 for arcade baseball action, you’ll be pretty disappointed. But if you go in just hoping for a baseball game that works, then — possibly for the first time ever — then it’s possible to say that RBI Baseball 18 does the job.

    RBI Baseball 18 adds significant new content to what was a fairly shallow game in the form of that franchise mode as well as a home run derby, but it still remains a simple game, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. If it were a more polished experience it would be easy to recommend to Switch-owning baseball fans, but as it is it doesn’t really feel finished. If you can get past the mostly minor issues, though, it’s an enjoyable arcade baseball game.

    Sadly, RBI Baseball 18, while ahead of last year's edition, is still obviously hampered by porting the mobile version to consoles and charging 300% more. It's not worth your time or your money, unless you're really hard up for a Switch baseball game. If you have access to any other console, play something there instead.
