    While the story isn’t needed, RANDOMAX is packed with fast-paced bullet hell action with short bursts of addictive gameplay.

    For shoot ‘em fans, developer Astro Port’s oeuvre shouldn’t be missed. Like many of their previous works, RANDOMAX is inventive, fun, and delectably affordable. Here, decision making is just as important as reflexes as your build uber-weapons for a squadron of gallant space gals.

    It's awesome that shoot 'em ups as unique and enjoyable as RANDOMAX are releasing all the way in 2025 and the dev's passion really shows.

    At the surface, Randomax looks like a quite promising title, and in many regards, it might sound too good to be true. Well, in this case, it is. "Rogue-lite" here is just a fancy word for a basic durability system similar to what can be found in just about any sandbox title, and a simplified reskin of a decade-old genre feature. In addition, the gameplay is flat, and the screen is often cluttered to the point of being inconvenient. It is a somewhat fun romp, yet not that much more.
