The only positive thing about this game is the quick battles. Unfortunately, it has faaaaar too many issues. The matchmaking system is the worst I've seen by far (a six years old child would be able to do a better job tbh), to the point I had team members in master that clearly didn't know left from right. Finally, almost half my games I get ridiculous lag, which I can't fix for the life of me, when my internet connection is working perfectly.

Edit: The matchmaking was updated recently. You get great teammates and complete idiots for opponents for 5 games straight, then you get idiots for teammates and great opponents for 5 games straight. And once every dozen games, IF you are lucky, you get a balanced match.

Unite started out as promising, but quickly devolved into just another Tencent cash grab. While the gameplay is quite good, the dozens of terrible additions to the game have ruined it beyond repair.

Everybody is afk all the time. Ranked mode is frustrating as me, a bad player, had to pit off against the masters. Also, Aeos gems are only buy-able with irl money. I really wanted comfey's old-timey merchant holowear but it's only obtainable with gems. To top it off, licences are getting more and more costly.

First it was Gengar The broken pokemon, then Zoroark, then Zacian, and now Mewtwo. I will don't play pokemon unite anymore. And from my point of view Gengar and especially Zoroark are still a bit broken. P.S. Overpriced gems, P.S. 2 I can't play with friends if we are not in the same rank THX!

This is a very enjoyable game, and is a very fun game to play with friends, but it's biggest flaw has got to be the microtransactions, but they are not required, and are only used for cosmetics.

Un buen spin-off de Pokémon pero con excesivos micropagos, una estabilidad de personajes/Pokémon bastante dudable y un seguimiento más que cuestionable. Sin embargo es muy divertido de jugar y cumple con su cometido

Pokemon Unite is a free game almost like the League of Legend system. It is first accessible and remains visually beautiful. Unfortunately, we would have liked more of a Pokemon franchise than a LoL-like. That said, it remains pleasant to play and contrary to what we can say, pay-to win is not too present for this game without too much ambition.

    Short games

    Cons
Takes a long time to receive Pokemon
    Two abilities
    Stiff competition

In a moba style game, I like chaos. I like team fights. And Pokemon Unite took deliberate steps to be “just like” other mobas, leaving its niche of essentially what was a straight up team-fight for 8 minutes (out of 10 minute match) of wholesome fun. I wouldn’t be surprised if the next step was to lengthen games because it has deliberately slowed down farming and scoring. Now there always has to be one person in each lane so you can’t fully team-fight in most cases. The result? People sit in their goal zones and deadlock the lane—there’s nothing to farm, and you can’t leave your goal zone because if you do—you get hit and they heal, or worse, they score while you get a tiny bit of farm. Deadlocked lanes aren’t the player’s fault; this is what the game has pushed for—to add a lot more idle time in games.

This game feels a lot more like League of Legends, and I’m more likely to go play that than play Thea Sky Ruins because there are more characters, better skins (for the same price), and more abilities—which leads to a greater variety of gameplay. Pokemon Unite will never be able to compete against other Mobas if it copies them because less moves = less variability per Pokemon.

To be clear, I mastered the game and made it to high level masters. I know what I’m doing and how to win. I loved Remoat Stadium. It was clunky and frustrating, but also a lot of fun. There are things the game is working on—like the reporting system—but I’ll be taking a break until, if ever, Tencent decides to make changes to the game to make it feel fast paced again.

The money practices have changed significantly as well. Skins were always expensive, and I’ve actually bought a few to support the game back in Remoat Stadium. Players can earn about 3000 coins per week grinding the game. The last two Pokemon released cost 14k. Now, Pokemon are getting harder to purchase with in game currency and you can’t buy new Pokemon with in game currency for a week after they’re released. It’s crossed a line of ethics in my opinion. You want me playing your game because it makes it easier to matchmake, giving a better experience for everyone. When I like your game I will spend money on the Pokemon I like. Do NOT try to frustrate me into spending hundreds of dollars. That’s not promoting a game, that’s just disgusting.

A stupid pay to win cash grab made by the pokemon company to fill their pockets just a little more. Any decent outfit you have to pay for, all the good stuff in the battle passes you have to pay for, you can pay to get every pokemon right away instead of grinding for coins, you can pay for a special "membership", you can pay for every outfit.

Any decent outfit you have to pay for, all the good stuff in the battle passes you have to pay for, you can pay to get every pokemon right away instead of grinding for coins, you can pay for a special "membership", you can pay for every outfit.
Everything in this game is pay pay pay. And then you get to the ranked battles. Instead of separating people out by each rank, only master rank people get their own ques to join and battle other master rank trainers. I've been stuck in expert rank class 1 for so long it is getting ridiculous. If you end up getting stuck with a bunch of noobs or people only paying half attention you drop a rank point AND loose performance points. But they decided to make up for it by giving you back some performance points if they catch a team mate idling. Wanna know how many they give you? 20. When loosing the battle removes 100!!!! That is no way fair.
Also Zapdos is a pain in the absolute ass. Someone from the other team can sneak right up to Zapdos after your team does all the work and deliver the final blow to get the boost. And the boost is basically an auto-win. Each team member gets 50 energy, all your scoring zones become defenseless so they can score right away, and points are DOUBLED. So the other team can score up to 500 points off of Zapdos alone. And it is impossible to coordinate or talk to people who you get randomly paired with in the game, so you are basically all running around trying to guess what your team mates are planning or thinking
Also levels are WAY too important in this game. One level can make the difference between defeating an opponent or dying yourself. And some pokemon are way more overpowered than others. Pikachu has an attack that holds you in place, one that slows you down, one that strikes a huge zone of the map causing damage as long as you are in it, and one that launched them straight at you and drags you into the air.
This game is not worth the time, and I don't recommend it if you are looking for a fun time.

dishonest game. a pay-to-win in disguise. There is no balance between teams. The items win if you have them at lvl 30. The whole game is worthless, whoever gets the zapdos at the end wins. Is there a way to get the points back? No, because there is less than 50sec left to finish the game. ****

Overall, Pokémon UNITE is a MOBA with a lot of potential. It’s already great as a casual game with friends, but I believe with some tweaking to Zapdos and removal of the “pay for held item upgrades” option, a strong competitive MOBA lives in Pokémon UNITE. Until then, it’s hard to call it much more than an above-average entry in the crowded MOBA space.

Pokémon Unite is the first attempt at creating a MOBA with the pocket monsters – and I must admit it’s a successful one. The game is fast and intense, but also easy to get a grip on. I don’t expect it to take the esports scene by storm, but it’s very enjoyable and works great in a doctor’s waiting room or on the bus. As for me, I can’t force myself to stop playing Pokémon Unite and hope the developers will keep updating it. [10/2021, p.61]
