    I have been playing Pokémon for the last 20 years, and this game is a disgrace to the franchise. Now, don't get me wrong, this game does have entertainment value, but absolutely not worth the $110 for this game plus Mew. The months leading up to this game's release have been the most confusing times prior to anything I've ever seen revolving around a video game. The game's director, Junichi Masuda, has made so many claims that all refute each other in terms of the target audience.

    The games take place in Kanto, so there is no reason to market this game to younger children because they don't have nostalgia for Kanto.

    Yet, he said this game was for kids that weren't able to play Pokemon GO due to not having cell phones.

    Yet, still, the only way to obtain Meltan and Mew are through playing Pokemon GO and buying a $50 peripheral respectively. Not things his claimed target audience are going to be able to do.

    He has stated that Let's Go is also intended to get younger players introduced into the more mainline games, yet on the same token, has said that younger players don't have the attention spans for complex video games like Pokemon anymore.

    These conflicting claims aside, there have been a lot of decisions in respect to the gameplay that point to a low-effort release, but I'll highlight the positive aspects first.

    - First, the removal of wild battles. This was a controversial move, but not inherently bad. I understand this change, and why it was made for these titles specifically, as the players coming over from GO are going to be most familiar with these mechanics (but I thought the target audience was kids who didn't get to play GO? Hmm...)

    - Secondly, wild encounters are no longer random, but happen in the overworld. For me, this is a welcome change, as it helps the setting feel more alive.

    - Thirdly, pokemon can follow you and allow you to ride them. Something fans have been asking about since Black and White.

    But here's where the games fall short:

    - The games only have the original 151, plus the new mythical, Meltan and Melmetal. All the other pokemon have been removed.

    - The difficulty of the game is nonexistent. Gyms have prerequisites, one of which is that you are stronger than the gym leader before you challenge it.

    - The new height system for pokemon means absolutely nothing. The models don't scale depending on how big the pokemon is, all are the same size regardless of what the game tells you.

    - Abilities, held items, several moves and eggs have been outright removed from the game.

    - EV's have been removed from the game, but the stats you CANNOT control, such as IV's, remains.

    - You play as a new character to the pokemon franchise, yet there is no customization, unlike the previous two generations as well as GO.

    - Animations and models have not improved in the 5 years since X and Y came out. Most pokemon still stand around as if they are just waiting to get hit.

    - Pokemon Amie (the petting and nurturing mini-game from the past two generations) does not exist for any pokemon besides your partner pokemon.

    While these games are intensely flawed, overall, yes, this game has entertainment value best suited for small children. I would rate this game much higher than a 0 if it were already clear that this is a game best suited for children, but the Kanto pandering of these games has muddied up who this game is really meant for. If you are a grown man reading this review, who is not satisfied with the qualities this game possesses, please, do not buy it. This game is perfectly suited for a child who would otherwise need help during the course of a normal pokemon game. If you are willing to spend $60 on a game for a child's birthday, this is not a bad way to go, but do not feel obligated to buy strictly because you are a pokemon fan. It simply exist to get shady and predatory behaviour in the games and dumb it down so they can milk mindless casuals who buy into the same microtransactions like they do with games like Fifa, Madden, etc. etc. They alienated the hardcore fans on purpose becauseTo start it pretty simple, this is one of the worst games(if not the worst) in video game history of Triple-A gaming companies.     This is Game Freaks first attempt at EA-like mechanics with putting a Pokemon (mew/Pokeball Plus) behind a 50 Dollar paywall. You might say "ha, you're not forced to buy it and you get a accessoire." while that is true, it still doesn't change the fact that you don't get all the experience without buying into it (not to mention the lack of the other 653 Pokemon. I don't have a problem with accessoire itself, after all Heartgold and Soulsilver had a similar one, the Pokewalker too, but the difference is, the Pokewalker didn't paywall anything behind it.

    Also, I'm not generally against remakes, I love FR/LG, I love HG/SS and I love OR/AS too, but the thing is, these actual remakes never(!) took anything away. They much rather added stuff, not only could I catch all(!) at the time available Pokemon in siad remakes, no, they literally added content like the Sevii-Islands in FR/LG, or the awesome modular Safari Zone in HG/SS or the new Megas in OR/AS. They never took anything away, wether it was literaly content like Pokemon, or mechanics, or whatever.

    But LGP/E only gives you the original 151(+alolan Forms and Meltan/Melmetal), it takes away wild battles, items, abilities, breeding and literally everything that was fun at the games, yet they charge you 50% more money than ever under the excuse of making it "for beginners". Pokemon IS already easy, there is no dumbinging down needed, you can beat any Pokemon maingame with any wild caught Pokemon, you don't need to CP breed, you don't need to use the abilities or items, it was all done just to milk stupid casuals. Nothing more, and nothing less.

    And companies should always get proper response when they're becoming overly greedy.    … Expand

    Terrible game made for toddlers, this is a shame for the pokemon community. If you are over 3 years old then you should not waste time playing this, don't buy this game!

    An unnecessary and absurdly silly game. It shows the mockery of Game Freak and Nintendo to the consumers, since they know that they are Muggles and will find wonderful everything that has the name "Pokémon".

The battle sprites are lifted from Pokemon X and Y, the Nintendo 3DS released in 2013. They think you'll buy anything as long as it's got cute anime graphics, enough that you'll excuse that the game is hastily glued together from 3 older games and slapped with a $60 price tag. You need to vote with your wallet and not buy games like this, to tell Nintendo that this kind of crap isn't acceptable.    … Expand

    Over 20 years, Pokémon has been one of the series that make fans to enjoy new adventures. There are a lot of things that make Pokémon the huge success that it is. However, it seems that in Pokémon Let's Go everything was lost.

    1°: The addition of grass in the overworld is pointless. Pokémons can come and by and you don't even need to walk on the grass to trigger an encounter. 2°:    Over 20 years, Pokémon has been one of the series that make fans to enjoy new adventures. There are a lot of things that make Pokémon the huge success that it is. However, it seems that in Pokémon Let's Go everything was lost.

    1°: The addition of grass in the overworld is pointless. Pokémons can come and by and you don't even need to walk on the grass to trigger an encounter.

    2°: There is no Pokémon reward anymore. In order to get some Pokémons, you either have them in your team and train them until they could evolve by level up or by stone effect or you could spend some time searching around until you could find a very rare final evolution of such Pokémon. Now it is pointless as when you walk into the Mt. Moon and you just need to wait until a Clefable spawn or having a Beedrill spawning by your side at Veridian Forest.

    3°: I get the 150 ones... But how could they exclude the whole bunch of evolutions and pre evolutions of Kantonian Pokémons found in generations ahead? It is another pointless thing for me. The game simply ignored all the evolutions of pokémons. Instead, they added Alolan forms and Mega forms. This was a great opportunity to have a Kanto updated pokedex with their 184 Pokémons.

    4°: Pokémon appearing in the wild is very cool, but it causes a lag in the game. There are moments when the frame rate drops drastically and this is due the appearing of the pokémons in the overworld by the lure effect.

    5°: The controls were terribly planned. They could let people play in the TV by the use of both joycons or pro controller. However, they force you to choose either traditional way [handheld] or with movement controls. In addition, it is disturbing because in every game, the movement control is in the left hand and the options is in the right hand. Now they force you to choose either playing with right hand or left hand. They could leave the option of playing with both joycons as if it were on handheld mode.

    6°: The pokeball plus. It is bad having access to one of the pokémons by just buying a peripheral. But the problem is because this peripheral can't be used in any other game.

    7°: The game is repetitive and does not have the replay fact. By the middle of the game, you get tired of so much battles and the lack of a catching story. You play just for playing... This could have been improved in this remake. Yet, everything was made poorly if you compare with the yellow version.

    8°: The game is simply easier and difficultly pokémon would have achieved its huge success if it was like this at the begginning. The game turned back to everything that make it great. The playing mode in the game should have come in a "easy mode" where players could choose to play in a easy one or in a traditional one.

    9°: Battles with friends is fun, but again pointless as the surprise factor and training factor don't interfere anymore. Battles were a complicated fact in pokémon core series as it demands a lot of time and lots of combinations to make everything perfect for a battle.

    10°: Why removing the buying factor? What is the point of having pokéballs all the time? You can find a pack of 5 in the overworld, you can earn as reward and you can buy them for just 100$. It is like having infinite pokeballs.

    11° The menu is another thing... It was not well planned. Differently from previous versions, you don't have a particular selection of itens you can quickly use by pressing a single button [Y in the most cases]. Due to this you have to run through the menu to get simple and necessary things such as the map access and get off of a flying Pokémon.

    I could go on and on... But I won't... The game change bad aspects of previous ones... But what we want is not make change everything and erased all the concepts, instead we want things to build up. In this past 20 years, we have seen how pokémon storage have been changed, for instance... This updates does not change the game, but make improvements which are well accepted... What Pokémon Let's Go did was basically ignore all the things the series have been loyal for over 20 years.    … Expand

    Pokémon Let's GO , Eevee, also know as Pokémon GO for Switch, represents the future that Game Freak wants to take the franchise and its commitment destroying the fanbase that supported Pokémon for more than 20 years in favor of Pokémon GO players. The biggest mistake of this game is the simple fact that it exists. Pure garbage.

    The controls (at least on handheld) are wonky as hell and barely work, I can't run down without using the Pokeball, every encounter feels like catching a legendary without the charm, the story is somehow both a remake of Yellow and a sequel to Red/Green/Blue, so it looks like everyone is an absolute moron by redoing everything the exact same way, there are no more wild battles, meaningThe controls (at least on handheld) are wonky as hell and barely work, I can't run down without using the Pokeball, every encounter feels like catching a legendary without the charm, the story is somehow both a remake of Yellow and a sequel to Red/Green/Blue, so it looks like everyone is an absolute moron by redoing everything the exact same way, there are no more wild battles, meaning grinding is entirely money- and luck-dependent, everything is super easy and it insults everyone's intelligence with the handholding being somehow worse than Gen VII, and the characters are a real downgrade from the original. Oak is now a dick by making a joke about forgetting his grandson's name, "Trace" is a poor man's Hat and Green put together (and I hated Hau personally), Green is back for some reason and they changed him too much for that point in his development, and nothing has been improved. There are no more held items nor Abilities (which FireRed and LeafGreen had), the new moves are laughably bad (like the infamous Baddy Bad), the over reliance on charm means every other aspects were overlooked, and I personally did not like the Go mechanics from the ground up, even though that was also a mess in general.

    Did this game do good things? Sure. The Master Trainers are a neat idea (though I feel they went overboard with every single Pokémon having one, meaning for the most part you have to stop them from evolving and feed them candies for the postgame), Blue being canon is nice though ultimately unnecessary, rematching the Gym Leaders is cool (even though it's not the first game to do so), and I guess the Pokémon following you again was nice (though not a deal maker/breaker for me). But those positives are vastly outclassed by negatives that are a lot more essential in a game. The controls barely work, but hey look at that Eevee's clothes! But no, they decide to rip a map straight from 1996 and present it back to us with prettier graphics. All non-gen 1 Pokemon have been removed from the game giving us the least diverse roster since the originals. Heck, Fire Red and Leaf Green from 2004 had more content than thisPossible the worst Pokemon game ever made. They could have done so much by re-imagining Kanto on a modern system. But no, they decide to rip a map straight from 1996 and present it back to us with prettier graphics. How DARE they turn my all time favorite game series with hundreds of years of lore, epic adventures, and fun for all ages into a wishy washy baby game that can be beaten by a literal toddler. This game has awful graphic while despite being on an HD console. it actually looks WORSE than Sun and Moon which were on the 3DS, a HANDHELD console which was less powerful than even the Game Cube. Heck, it might even look worse than XY and it's stunning Luminous City even though I hate that game with a passion. They censored all the interesting dark moments from Pokemon Yellow, the game which this game is clearly based off. They also shoehorned in awful, unresponsive motion controls. I have a theory that they INTENTIONALLY made the joy con motion controls awful just so they could trick people into buying the $60 pokeball+ controller which only works for let's go and nothing else. As well as that, to complete the pokedex you not only need to connect a new pokeball+ in order to activate an optional mew event, but also spend 100+ dollars on the equally awful app Pokemon GO in order to get the chance to catch the mythical Pokemon Meletan, and then pay a $10 transfer fee to transfer it to Pokemon Let's Go just so you can evolve it into Meleton, and if you want to ALSO complete the Pokemon GO pokedex, you have to pay another $10 just to transfer it back to Pokemon GO. Greed seems to be the sole thing motivating this game. The gameplay is shallow, the story is stolen from Yellow, already the worst Gen 1 game, brings up constant continuity errors, and the game being dumbed down for the non-existent child fanbase. Admit it Nintendo, you fanbase lies within the 13-30 market. All the children have moved on the trending games like Fortnite, Roblox, and Minecraft, and don't care about your games. The real fanbase lies in teenagers and young adults now, all the kids who played your kiddy games like just dance and Wii sports on the original Wii have grown up and are still trying to support you. The 12 and under croud just play Fortnite, makes slime, and watches vine complications, don't laugh challenges, bootleg kids cartoons, or Fortnite channels like SSunde, Crainer, or Ali-A. 0/10… Expand

The worst is the menue system where you have to click up to 16 times to reach specific functions.     "Let's Go" lacks content and originality. They've taken the "GO" mechanics from mobile app which was intended to play for a couple minutes or even less and implemented this on a console that is being played for much longer, in short this felt very forced.

    I can usually stand a terrible game, but when it's a game for one of my favorite franchises, then I take issue with it.
    1) It took away random encounters and the ability to fight Pokemon and replaced it with the same mechanics as GO
    2) OMG MY RIVAL, I CAN'T STAND IT. Friendly Rivals have always made me a little upset, but after X & Y I kinda just accepted it. But this guy, THIS GUY.    I can usually stand a terrible game, but when it's a game for one of my favorite franchises, then I take issue with it.
    1) It took away random encounters and the ability to fight Pokemon and replaced it with the same mechanics as GO
    2) OMG MY RIVAL, I CAN'T STAND IT. Friendly Rivals have always made me a little upset, but after X & Y I kinda just accepted it. But this guy, THIS GUY. He's so friendly, annoyingly so, anytime I saw him I was upset, remembering my encounters with Blue back in FireRed. He failed where even the worst rivals succeeded. Like with Hau. A terrible rival sure, but at least he offered somewhat of a challenge.
    3) Speaking of challenge, it's all but gone, throughout the game I had difficulty with one pokemon, and that was Surge's Raichu since it T-Bolted my entire team and one shot them. The rest of the game was easy. I swear there were no trainers with more than 3 moves on their teams during my run. And if there were I didn't find them.
    4) No handheld items or abilities, which means no competitive play.
    5) CANDY, say hello to my Eevee who's stats are so high that they can annihilate Mewtwo at Lvl. 59. And no, I didn't use any special Eevee moves, just bit him to death.
    6) You'll probably say that it's for people to get introduced to PKMN, no, no way. It has more in common with a mobile game than it does with Yellow, THE GAME IT PULLED INSPIRATION FROM, WAIT NO, IS A REMAKE OF! At best it's made for 4 year olds who play GO and need the hand holding, speaking of which
    7) It has the same hand holding that other games have had a problem with recently, but toned up to 11, I'm not dumb, just let me figure out what I need to do, LIKE I DID IN FIRERED.

    In short, GameFreak has disappointed me by removing what I love about the franchise, and replaced it with why I avoided PKMN GO, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, don't buy it and don't encourage Nintendo to keep making games like this, if you need an introduction play something else, you can play oldschool ones on a free emulator online or play one of the new ones on your 3DS.     I really tried to love the game since i am a sucker for pokemon in general and first gen in particular, but Pokemon lets go, really let me down. Everything is dumbed down to the absolute minimum.
    I was in a fight with my bulbasaur against a random trainer, who was using diglette.

    Juego que destruye la franquicia desde su base, tomando las mecánicas y bajandolas a niveles infantiles en extremo.

    Pokemon Let's Go como un juego de la saga principal apesta, no tanto por las mecánicas que pudieron estar y no están, no tanto por el hecho de no poder luchar contra pokemon salvajes, sino por ser una versión tan asquerosamente casualizada y sin ningún ápice de curva de    Juego que destruye la franquicia desde su base, tomando las mecánicas y bajandolas a niveles infantiles en extremo.

    Pokemon Let's Go como un juego de la saga principal apesta, no tanto por las mecánicas que pudieron estar y no están, no tanto por el hecho de no poder luchar contra pokemon salvajes, sino por ser una versión tan asquerosamente casualizada y sin ningún ápice de curva de dificultad comparado con el juego en el que se basa, cosas como que uno tiene un repatir. exp soldado con fuego desde el principio, incoherencias tales como que nada mas empezar tienes 50 pokeballs sin que nadie te las diera, cosas absurdas como que te obliguen a llevar a un Pokemon efectivo contra los dos primeros gimnasios, y la rotura anal de poder sacar de la caja a un pokemon donde quieras, cuando quieras, hacen a Pokemon Let's Go una basura como RPG, cuya dificultad solo depende de que el jugador se auto-limite a si mismo o juegue en formato nuzlocke. No hay mas.
    Los movepools de los pokemon y especialmente de Eevee y Pikachu iniciales estan rotos y demasiado casualizados, lo desafiante del Pokemon Amarillo original estaba en por ejemplo, vértelas con Brook con ningún Pokemon de tipo Agua/Planta y ver como derrotabas a sus Pokemon de Tipo Tierra con un Pikachu, como RPG le daba sabor al asunto, pero en Let's Go es completamente asesinado con la aparición de Psyducks y Oddishs en pleno Bosque Verde, lo cual es vergonzoso, así es todo el juego, un vórtice de condescendencia y facilidades sin fin.

No need to weaken your target, just spam balls with amazing motion control... Want to evade wild pokemon to have a challenge in gyms? Nope, you NEED to fullfill certain requirements to enter a gym, aka to have a totally easy time andPokemon Let's Go Casual.     Get FireRed, LeafGreen, HeartGold, SoulSilver, or even Red/Blue/Yellow/Gold/Silver/Crystal instead. They are on better consoles, they are less than half the price, and they literally have more conent than Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee.

    Overall, I did have a blast playing Pokémon Let’s Go Eevee. I did like visiting all the cities of the original Pokémon games again and seeing all the original Pokémon. However, I really did not like how they changed how you capture Pokémon and I did not like the setup of the Pokémon boxes. For those who want to play this game for nostalgia reasons, I would recommend waiting until a sale comes out before purchasing. For newcomers to Pokémon, this is a really good introduction into the world of Kanto.
