Too easy, too short. Mediocre graphics. Just stick to FR/LG, a GBA game from 14 years ago with much more content.

cheap nostalgia grab: misses all pokemon post gen 1, items, abilities, graphics actually utilizing the switch's potential, and you can't 100% the game unless you shell out money to get mew which is actually revolting. wait for the 2019 game instead, hopefully it's too late for this trashheap having any negative influence on it.

This is my first review, but I feel compelled to complain about it because it's an inexcusable product in 2018.

Pokemon: Let's Go Eevee is the cheapest cash grab of a product I've ever seen, and is a premiere example of how little companies think of gamers. They think you'll buy anything as long as it's got cute anime graphics, enough that you'll excuse that the game is hastily glued together from 3 older games and slapped with a $60 price tag. You need to vote with your wallet and not buy games like this, to tell Nintendo that this kind of crap isn't acceptable.

Pokemon LGPE is the moment the franchise lost all it's heart and substance. Sure it's cute with the starter pokemon interactions, but the rest of the game is a bare bones even more simplistic take on what has been done twice already. (RBY, and FRLG). Not to mention the clearly shoehorned on GO mechanics. I'm not sure why they went with this, GO players are unlikely to buy a whole new console for a game aimed squarely at them. By taking out one of the most basic and classic mechanics of the game (battling wild pokemon) they have alienated a lot of the fanbase.

Then there is the graphical element, it's barely different to a 3DS game. They could have done so much more with this but just wanted to throw out a quick game to appease a new demographic, not their long term fans. The wild pokemon don't even look like they belong in their environments, it's like something you would expect from a free mobile game. Mew is only obtainable if you buy a £50 controller. The game randomly slows down for seemingly no reason, I doubt this is a game pushing the Switch to its limits.

Only 151 pokemon available (153 with the Meltan from GO), no natures, no held items, no abilities, no contests, no battle frontier. If they had to do Kanto again, a proper sequel after 20 years would have been perfect, including all the features above along with others I haven't mentioned.

Pokemon games have never been hard, but this one takes it to the extreme. For the first gym, they won't even let you in without having a grass or water type on your team. Your box is available at all times meaning using items is pointless. Pokeballs are handed to you constantly. Poison has no effect outside of battle. Basically any fun and challenge has been removed from the game. Kids didn't need this handholding in 1999, why do they need it now?

Overall it's just a very lazily made game aimed at people who probably won't buy it anyway. If the next main series games are anything like this, I will have to say goodbye to the franchise, even after 20 years.

I can usually stand a terrible game, but when it's a game for one of my favorite franchises, then I take issue with it.
    1) It took away random encounters and the ability to fight Pokemon and replaced it with the same mechanics as GO
    2) OMG MY RIVAL, I CAN'T STAND IT. Friendly Rivals have always made me a little upset, but after X & Y I kinda just accepted it. But this guy, THIS GUY.

    2) OMG MY RIVAL, I CAN'T STAND IT. Friendly Rivals have always made me a little upset, but after X & Y I kinda just accepted it. But this guy, THIS GUY. He's so friendly, annoyingly so, anytime I saw him I was upset, remembering my encounters with Blue back in FireRed. He failed where even the worst rivals succeeded. Like with Hau. A terrible rival sure, but at least he offered somewhat of a challenge.
    3) Speaking of challenge, it's all but gone, throughout the game I had difficulty with one pokemon, and that was Surge's Raichu since it T-Bolted my entire team and one shot them. The rest of the game was easy. I swear there were no trainers with more than 3 moves on their teams during my run. And if there were I didn't find them.
    4) No handheld items or abilities, which means no competitive play.
    5) CANDY, say hello to my Eevee who's stats are so high that they can annihilate Mewtwo at Lvl. 59. And no, I didn't use any special Eevee moves, just bit him to death.
    6) You'll probably say that it's for people to get introduced to PKMN, no, no way. It has more in common with a mobile game than it does with Yellow, THE GAME IT PULLED INSPIRATION FROM, WAIT NO, IS A REMAKE OF! At best it's made for 4 year olds who play GO and need the hand holding, speaking of which
    7) It has the same hand holding that other games have had a problem with recently, but toned up to 11, I'm not dumb, just let me figure out what I need to do, LIKE I DID IN FIRERED.

In short, GameFreak has disappointed me by removing what I love about the franchise, and replaced it with why I avoided PKMN GO, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, don't buy it and don't encourage Nintendo to keep making games like this, if you need an introduction play something else, you can play oldschool ones on a free emulator online or play one of the new ones on your 3DS. I do like some changes for example, now the pokemon wonder around, letting you encounter the pokemon you want instead of it being random, this is just one pro to several cons. While some parts are innovative and look as though they're moving the game forward, when in reality, the game just takes several steps back.

With wonky motion controls for throwing pokeballs, simplistic needs such as pokeballs and potions being the only necessary purchases, catching pokemon being the most efficient way to leveling up encouraging less combat, most trainers having just one pokemon minimizes combat, the removal of passives making the combat less dynamic, unable to evolve your main pokemon, the removal of breeding, the removal of the slot machines and prizes in the game center, the removal of the safari, the addition of pokemon go which is something I don't even play, the lack of online play unless you have nintendo switch online which you have never needed before for pokemon games, no pro controller support, the lack of save data backup, the most expensive pokemon game, the pokemon game with the least content to date, and more.

While playing this game I've hardly felt any thrill, a very mediocre experience to sum it up. TL;DR, This game is more fitting for the fans of the anime series, rather then the game series.

Yes, they know what Nintendo said about the game not being exactly like the others and, yes, they know about the mechanics that Nintendo said would not be in the game. With that said, that does not invalidate their entire review because, like everyone else, they had their own experience with the game and just want to share their thoughts. So, don't be so quick to down-vote. This is what reviews are for, to show an overall reception of a piece of media. So take in all of these reviews and form your own opinion about the game.

    ANYWAY,
I beat Pokemon Emerald in 3 days when I was 5 years old. That being said, Pokemon Let's Go Eevee (and Pikachu. They're the same game. Don't be a sucker and buy both) are dumbed down to the bear minimum.
    - Always on exp share (not a big issue though)
    - Pokemon GO wild battles
    - constant hand holding
    - friendly rival (because children are sensitive and words hurt I guess)
    - No abilities
    - No held items
    - Only first 151 Pokemon (plus Meltan and Melmetal)
    - No working game corner (because I guess that counts as gambling and we must shield the children)
It's almost as if Game Freak assumes that kids these days are getting dumber every year. The games were already easy and, now, they're just lifeless.

I don't have a problem with going back to Kanto because I really like Kanto. The issue lies in that there are no new places to go. In fact, places like the Sevii Islands have been taken out. Personally, I would have really like to visit Johto afterwards but I guess that was too much to ask for.

I also don't have a problem with wild pokemon appearing outside of battle rather than being randomly selected when running through tall grass. The issue with this, though, is that there are so many of them and, a lot of times, you will have your path blocked by randomly wandering wild pokemon whom you can't touch because then you'll be forced to play carnival ring toss with them.

The story is fairly the same as pokemon yellow with little to no change. You start out as a trainer in pallet town and end after beating the pokemon league. Simple. There is also no post game unless you think that "Master Trainers" actually qualifies for being post-game content. I don't see why Nintendo made a big fuss over master trainers. They're just 1v1 battles of the same pokemon and you get a title of that specific pokemon when you beat them but, those titles don't make sense in any context if you use more than one species of pokemon.

You can also try to complete the pokedex but that only works if you get mew who is locked behind a paywall. That's right! You have to buy the pokeball plus to acquire mew which is another $50 ($40 dollars if you buy the bundle pack) because, I guess, EA must've taken Nintendo aside and told them that consumers love getting screwed over at every turn.

Also, half the animations were quite literally ripped from SM/USUM so expect a lot of things to look familiar. ALSO, the graphics look sub-par. The switch is definitely capable of more than just SM/USUM graphics without the black outlines. So, that was unimpressive.

Character customization is pretty shallow despite being much better in previous titles on an inferior console. Once you pick your character appearance, you are not able to change anything about it from then on (hair style, color, eye color, etc.) You can still customize your outfit but, that has been dumbed down to just a few sets (some of which are version exclusive) and any attempt to mix and match between the sets never looks right.

The thing that I think this game does right is the music. The music is always top notch, largely because everything else is still conveyed through text. Taking the soundtrack up to orchestral level is always nice though.

Overall, this game is just... okay. It plays fine. It looks fine. However, once you beat it, there is no reason to ever come back. The online sucks and, now you need to buy a Nintendo Switch Online Subscription to even do something simple like that.

(TL;DR) Not worth $60. Designed to appeal to the very small brain stunted children. This game is Baddy Bad.

If this spawns a series of let's go games, creating it's own separate thing than whatever. However the craze of pokemon go has largely died down since 2016, although the game still as just over 2million active users, it seems odd that pokemon company has even bothered to draw these players closer to the core series via this weird hybrid of the two. Not stating this without reason, the core series consistently sell over 10million, with exception to installments like emerald, crystal, platinum (that sell over 5million). Total core series sales is just under 230 million units. The begining of the last generation; Pokemon sun and moon sold over 16million. Making an attempt to add 2million Go players at least seems to be pointless, as if they had any interest in the core series they would have already picked one up or stayed with it. So kinda seems like a waste of time to make these games, objectively. But let's go over the games

What are the positive aspects of this game:
    1. It looks nice; the art direction is HD for the most part so nothing to complain about to much*(N.B on the much part)

    2. It is super easy; if you have a child who is a recent fan of pokemon go, then this is a good start i guess, and a start in which many players began 20+yrs ago.

    3. Pokemon walk around with you; this was a feature in Heart Gold and Soul SIlver back on the DS system (however that included around 450ish pokemon, just a bit less than that), it's nice to see your partners mostly to scale behind you

    4. If your a new commer the game only includes the first 151ish pokemon, so completing the pokedex isn't as intimidating as a task as it is in the newer games with over 800 pokemon. For old first generation fans returning to the franchise it is also nice for the same reason.

    Negative aspects of these games:
    1. this game costs $60 USA ($80 AUS, if like me you live in Australia); ok so normal price yeah, the games on the handeld lines where about $50is only a $10 increase. yup a $10 increase for a game that has 80% less content. oh boi.

    2. Mew is behind a pay wall; i hate microtransaction, lootboxes, you name it. DLC i don't mind as long as it is worth the price, i.e. witcher 3 DLCs absolutely worth the price, Breath of the wild, yup sure worth the low price, you get it good quality extra content for a fair price, most of the DLC i enjoy are ones in which i feel like i don't need them to have a full experience. SO what does this have to do with Mew, well mew is 1 of the original pokemon and has a lot of lore and fan love, so what do they do, the slap that behind a $50USA ($70 AUS) controller that is not needed to play the game and is only used for a gimmick. They also want it to be the only way to get mew, as you can't transfer your mew from Pokemon go to these games.

    3. 80% less content compared to core: like i said before this is not worth the money. This game only includes 151 of 801ish pokemon in the franchise, removes held items, abilities, EV's, anything competative. Removes wild battles for GO's simple capture. This doesn't work, the motion control are inconsistent and you have to use them, it messes with leveling up. People for this complain about core series, "RNG" system of battling and weakening pokemon (which by the way is not slow, annoying or grindy, cause it has many methods to increase your odds of catching pokemon and if your tired of running into pokemon just use a god dam repel, you have access to them form the start of the game), however this supposed better system is so so much worse; wild pokemon can just spawn at your feet (one top of another pokemon, why is this a thing) they clog the overworld (just try using any rideable pokemon, you hop of them at any ledge or inconvienience), catching pokemon gives you more exp that trainer battles (which is dumb) meaning to level up, your box will be innevietably filled with hundreds of pidgey's.

4.This game is so easy. Every trainer or rival, gym leader or bad guy never has more 4 pokemon or even 2, they force you to enter gyms with a requirement that makes it easier, your partner literally has a broken movepool and can solorun, stats and moves are broken, and you can use the other joycon to go 2player and effectively tag team 2v1 anyone, all the critic reviews or people saying this is hard, are bad at pokemon and videogames.

    5. This game has sudden frame drops (how? like how?), the shadows are still pixelated (why? this is a switch that can run Doom with decent fedelity and frames), the art style is booring, so are the characters, they introduce meltan just cause (mythical for the sake of being mythical) to enitce people to buy it for complete pokedex's. The music is eh, heard better fan remix's.

This game is only worth $20. Wait till this goes on sale

Oak is now a dick by making a joke about forgetting his grandson's name, "Trace" is a poor man's Hat and Green put together (and I hated Hau personally), Green is back for some reason and they changed him too much for that point in his development, and nothing has been improved. There are no more held items nor Abilities (which FireRed and LeafGreen had), the new moves are laughably bad (like the infamous Baddy Bad), the over reliance on charm means every other aspects were overlooked, and I personally did not like the Go mechanics from the ground up, even though that was also a mess in general.

Did this game do good things? Sure. The Master Trainers are a neat idea (though I feel they went overboard with every single Pokémon having one, meaning for the most part you have to stop them from evolving and feed them candies for the postgame), Blue being canon is nice though ultimately unnecessary, rematching the Gym Leaders is cool (even though it's not the first game to do so), and I guess the Pokémon following you again was nice (though not a deal maker/breaker for me). But those positives are vastly outclassed by negatives that are a lot more essential in a game. The controls barely work, but hey look at that Eevee's clothes! It's just hiding your head in the sand.

As well as that, to complete the pokedex you not only need to connect a new pokeball+ in order to activate an optional mew event, but also spend 100+ dollars on the equally awful app Pokemon GO in order to get the chance to catch the mythical Pokemon Meletan, and then pay a $10 transfer fee to transfer it to Pokemon Let's Go just so you can evolve it into Meleton, and if you want to ALSO complete the Pokemon GO pokedex, you have to pay another $10 just to transfer it back to Pokemon GO. Greed seems to be the sole thing motivating this game. The gameplay is shallow, the story is stolen from Yellow, already the worst Gen 1 game, brings up constant continuity errors, and the game being dumbed down for the non-existent child fanbase. Admit it Nintendo, you fanbase lies within the 13-30 market. All the children have moved on the trending games like Fortnite, Roblox, and Minecraft, and don't care about your games. The real fanbase lies in teenagers and young adults now, all the kids who played your kiddy games like just dance and Wii sports on the original Wii have grown up and are still trying to support you. The 12 and under croud just play Fortnite, makes slime, and watches vine complications, don't laugh challenges, bootleg kids cartoons, or Fortnite channels like SSunde, Crainer, or Ali-A. 0/10 Expand

The let’s go games are to Pokemon what Mystic Quest is to Final Fantasy. A dumbed down pathetic excuse of a game that was designed to be more appealing to everyone, but that rejects what the core fans of the franchise love about it. It has some cute moments, and plenty of nostalgia, but standing on it’s own, it is the worst entry into the Pokemon franchise to date.

It has some cute moments, and plenty of nostalgia, but standing on it’s own, it is the worst entry into the Pokemon franchise to date.

    The good:
I love how they've kept the ability to interact with your pokemon(well, at least with your evee/pikachu).
I love how they've expanded on the idea of utilising your pokemon outside of battle. Riding around on a pokemon that I have caught and trained feels much more enjoyable than having limited choices, and not being able to use the pokemon set aside for transport in battle of the likes.

    The bad:
No wild battles. Combined with the always enabled XP share, there is a severe lack of intimacy with one's pokemon, as there is very little need to train or care for anything more than the one given to you at the start.
Catching mechanics. They remove any kind of real depth to catching pokemon. All it is now is throw a piece of candy, and then throw your best pokeball(which you'll have hundreds of without ever buying any).
Your rival. He is possibly the worst part of the game. In the original first generation games, your rival was obnoxious, and was always pushing you to be your best, in the hope of beating him. Now, your rival is a pathetic coward, who does nothing but praise you at every step. He is somebody to be pitied. Not somebody to challenge yourself against.
Movesets. In every second or third city, you can find an individual who will teach your evee some stupidly powerful moves, which will ensure you never need to use any other pokemon, ever.
Difficulty, or the lack of it. Along with cutting out the need for HMs(though this was removed from S/M as well), the always enabled XP share, XP for catching pokemon being more than XP gained from battles a lot of the time, "story puzzles" being solved by NPCs for you, free revives and other items being handed to you all the time, and the powerful moves given to your starter, the game seriously lacks any kind of difficulty, or depth.

Instead of figuring out what moves work best to get the health low the most there is is figuring out where to aim the pokeball (in handheld mode anyway), and when you DO actually battle pokemon, you have to get rid of all it's health, THEN catch it. This entry was really disappointing to me. However, i did have fun battling the pokemon trainers, gyms, team rocket members, etc. Expand

However, this is not the case and instead people are not only asked to pay full price of 60$ for a game that clearly comes from a handheld, but even worse, for a game that is in no way a definitive version of the first generation Pokemon games. The first remake, FireRed/LeafGreen, had much more content available for a lower price (and a free dongle to trade wirelessly and play minigames) but even the original Red/Blue/Yellow is giving Let's Go run for its money when it comes to the value provided. Add to that performance issues like unstable framerate or unrefined motion controls, and it's very hard to justify the price tag to anyone who either respects his/hers money or the series itself.
While I don't condemn changes made to the game's formula in Let's Go, there being no way to adjust gameplay according to one's preferences, like turning back on wild Pokemon battles, turning off exp. share or simply allowing the players to use the ProController, builds an image of an unfinished product, which stands out in a bad way among (mostly) great games so far released by Nintendo on Switch.

Pokémon Let's GO , Eevee, also know as Pokémon GO for Switch, represents the future that Game Freak wants to take the franchise and its commitment destroying the fanbase that supported Pokémon for more than 20 years in favor of Pokémon GO players. The biggest mistake of this game is the simple fact that it exists. Pure garbage.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Let's Go is a No Go.

Right off the bat this game baits you with nostalgia only to bash you over the head with its poor capture mechanic and awkward single joycon controls. Adding to the frustration, pokemon can run away at literally any time up to and even including when the pokeball hits. Even the Encounter pokemon can run from you too now.

Speaking of Encounter pokemon, you now have to battle them first before you can try to capture them. Plus you only have 5 minutes to beat them in. This restriction is quite unfair as now you need to over power your pokemon to finish the battle in time to get to the capture phase.

The motion controls for the capture mechanic are also inaccurate at times causing your ball to fly off to the left when you want to throw to the right. Most of the time when I wanted to throw directly in front of me, I had to move the joycon up as if I was throwing underhanded. I should mention also that while doing this, my joycon was in the joycon grip accessory alone as not using the Left joycon too felt awkward.

Next is the issue of the box your pokemon are stored in. in every mainline pokemon game, as well as Pokemon Colosseum and XD Gale of Darkness, your pokemon were sent into multiple boxes that could hold up to 20 in the old Gen 1 and 2 games, to 30 pokemon each in Generation 3 and up. Now you have a single box that hold up to 1000 pokemon! Game Freak expects you to be capturing tons of pokemon, but doing so makes it harder to pick out a pokemon to use, similar to picking out a marble from an ever increasing bag of marbles. Without being able to use multiple boxes, sorting pokemon becomes as easy as cleaning a kid's bedroom.

When it comes to training pokemon you're going to have to rely on that capture mechanic most of the time as the only battles you'll be facing are from either 6 specific encounter pokemon, or Trainers. This winds up giving you little personal experience in battling with little room for experimenting outside of battling the elite 4 or Green.

While hyper Training was brought back for this game, it's now rendered moot as there is now a candy system in place to also make a sugar junkie out of your pokemon as you boost their stats with more than just Rare Candies. Beware though, if you take your buffed out pokemon online, you stand running the risk of your pokemon facing a sugar crash and having their stats reverted for the online battle unless you choose the right rule set.

Also online battles and trades are pay walled by the Nintendo switch online service now.

The amount of unique pokemon you can get is also SEVERLY limited to just the first 151 pokemon, plus what might as well be considered Generation 8's first 2 pokemon, Meltan and Melmetal, as they are not usable anywhere else other than the multi-generational pokemon Go. Speaking of Pokemon Go, at the time of this writing, Pokemon Go has pokemon captureable from Generations 1 through 4, but only Bulbasaur through Mewtwo, as well as Meltan and Melmetal can be transferred into Let's Go. This means that in order to get Mew in Let's Go, you need to get the pokeball Plus while the Mew promotion is still going on.

Speaking of that device now, the Mew on it can only be redeemed once. so choose wisely what you do with it. As for how good the device is, I can not say as I do not have it.

While the Game corner does make a comeback, none of the games are playable in it despite the place being converted from a Casino into an Arcade. Instead, you can come here to pick up respawnable items. Fun. /s

The NPC's of Fushia even lie about the Safari zone now as it has been replaced with Go Park.

In past games you could get a bike you could ride to speed up, or ride Tauros in Gen 7. In Let's Go, you get to pick the pokemon you ride, from a selection. However if you get too close to a wall, your pokemon goes back into their ball leaving you on the ground.

Now all that said, I did find somethings likeable about this game. Certain interactions with your partner pokemon were enjoyable, the new Additional story elements were a plus (the additions, not the replacements), and even the part where you get to play as your partner pokemon in the rocket hideout were enjoyable, but they were not enough to save this game.

Nostalgia can only take a product so far, and that distance is even shorter when you have access to the original game, the first remake, and the port to the 3DS. Pokemon Let's go is a No Go, but because of the stuff I did enjoy, I'm giving it a 2 instead of a 1.

It retarded, everybody knows that you first have to battle a Pokémon to make it easier to catch, but in Let's Go you can only throw balls at them, which we all know from the anime is not effective.. It doesn't matter whether I'm using the motion controls while it's docked (the motion controls for which are horribly imprecise) or moving it around in handheld mode. Catching Pokemon is the single most tedious thing in the entire game. When the whole reason your franchise is popular becomes the most tedious and frustrating thing about it, that's a problem, and that's why my review is so low. The one thing that was the immediate impetus for my writing this review is I had a 9-catch-chain on Weepinbell and the next one bolted after only 2 throws. That tells me random chance is far more of a factor than it should be. It's really sad, because this is otherwise a pretty good game. I'd been hoping that transferring Pokemon from Pokemon GO would allow me to forgo the tedium of catching them in-game, but, alas, you even have to catch the ones you transfer. Catching Pokemon is the whole point of the franchise, and, in Let's Go Eevee, it's not even enjoyable. Expand

I hate how this game relies on the gimmicky mechanics of Pokemon Go, which I strongly dislike. Training pokemon is much harder and leaves a lot of clutter in the PC full of pokemon as your heavily reliant on catching pokemon to gain exp. points. God help you if you screw up with catching pokemon as you will earn less exp. for catching that one pokemon for the third to the fourth time. That also means you have to waste a lot of money on a lot of pokeballs that could have been spent on other things important for battles.

There is also that small problem where the player character can't decide whether to run or walk. I constantly have my joystick in the right direction and somehow the controls jerk between walking and running that slows me down, and I find that really annoying.

Needless to say, this is definitely the worst Pokemon game I've ever played. Never have I would ever say that a Pokemon game is bad, because I've been a lifelong fan of the series, but the fact that this is just a Pokemon Go game on a console made me question Gamefreaks experimentation and reliance on a single mobile game. Thank goodness they did not follow this trend on Sword and Shield otherwise I would have stopped anticipating new Pokemon games in the future. Sure Sword and Shield dumbed down the difficulty and cut most of the Pokedex, and X and Y lacked in good storytelling, but at least I can play those games without being frustrated with how to train your Pokemon. This was a bad experience.

And here I am, some 20 something years later, playing THE EXACT SAME GAME, with a vernish cover, ok, but essentially the exact same thing. I just can't... How does the Nintendo main players can take this? It feels like Fifa or Madden. You put some new face here and there in the roster and it's good to go? wtf
Nothing is fun. nothing is new, there's zero appeal. This bs turn battles are old af, really, I don't know how can gamers put up with that for so long.

My rating is not zero for a very few things alone:

    - 2 points for pure nostalgia - I just love this 150+ characters, I grew up with them (even tho anything else seemed to mature in pokemon at all) it feels home, in a way
    - half a point for riding some of the pokemons (actually I feel like this part is more about the nostalgia too, because that's the dream of almost every single 90s' kid (and if I really think about it, it's half baked af, and stupid in a lot of ways. Just, PLEASE, allow the player to hop on or off the "ride" pokemon with a single button, not like 5 entries in 3 different menus)
    - the other half point for me is the cute graphics. But Again I feel a little fooled. It is pretty and cute, yes, but god, it's 2020. It is a 24yo multibilionaire franchise. So, what, you didn't have enough time or enough money to freaking program really good and unique animations? Especially in this game, in particular, considering it only has the first generation of monsters.

I know some of the "Nintenders" would hate me to say something like "we want a reall open world Pokemon game", but come on, don't we? Really, didn't you expect that by 2020 we would have something like Breath of the Wild in pokemon? imagine you freaking ACTUALLY FLYING in a charizard through a diverse open world, having to take care of your charizard buddy ride, or swapping it for another ride, because you just enter a cold snowy segment of the map, while you go after that rare artinuco. Imagine all that instead of going inside the same plot hole 'cave' in wich a legendary BIRD pokemon decided to built it's nest???? wtf, dude.
Or, okay, that seem too much? That seems like a Red Dead Pokédemption? Alright, so what about something entirely new? Forget about the little kid who's ten and is starting is poke journey and all that crap. Thing about a new plot. Something entirely new. Idk, something like the movie Detective Pikachu did; just hire some good writters and ask for new ideas.

I know pokemon is still a children targeted franchise (wich i kind think it's a mistake. seeing that half the playerbase are those 90s' kids, who are entering their thirties or worst, right now, and are still hooked with the idea) but can't Nintendo create a new timeline in games? You don't have to stop making this 'ever-the-same', they probably dont even have to invest all that much now, if all the animations and techniques are the same used decades ago. Just keep releasing this same formula games ad infinitum, but gosh, please try something new.

I only played handheld because it was just so much better. docked was not fun at all. even the battles were not hard. the eevee they give you in the beginning has perfect IVs and its easy to use it to demolish everything. versing misty give it an electric move, erica a fire type exclusive move. eevee literally makes this game a joke. This is not a good pokemon game. Then there are the gyms and their requirements i loathe these they are just ways to artificially stop you from doing the gym and forces you to do something else besides moving forward. If i don't want pokemon in the beginning of the game why are you forcing me to catch one. This game hampers you in the worst of ways. Also when losing a shiny it doesn't feel like my mistake which is the worst when losing out on catching a pokemon it should be my failure not that the game determines your not going to catch it. I never felt in control when trying to catch a shiny and that was the worst part.

there is some good in this game. The shinys appear in the wild like any other pokemon and are visible and you don't need to run into them to find out if they are actually shiny. they appear shiny like any other pokemon. and the customization options are pretty nice for you and eevee.

Overall this is a bad pokemon game. I honestly think they should have spent more resources on gen 8 rather than this. These are just not fun and that's the worst part. literally i beat the game on auto pilot from saffron to the pokemon league. the game is just that boring that i barely paid attention. The rival is extremely boring, team rocket is the same as usual, and they made this bare bones. I rather them skip a year than make something like this again because this was a terrible experience. I love pokemon but this was not fun for a pokemon game and that's saying something. It was tolerable when in handheld at best and at worst docked was unplayable because catching with the joycon SUCKS. I hope they don't make a sequel to this terrible game.

I guess it's an OK blend between Pokémon and Pokémon Go, but it doesn't offer anything new at all. Disposable.

As a long term Pokémon fan, i really, really, really tried to give this title a chance. At the first moment i only got it borrowed to evolve my Meltan in GO, but then i started to play more to see how it was. Gosh it was an awful time. This is a insult to any Pokémon lover out there, thought the gameplay COULD be fun and all, and seeing Kanto in HD its kinda nice, this is by far the worst Pokémon game ever developed. Way too easy, forgetable mechanics, limited Pokédex, limited features, dated visuals, a terrible ''battle'' system, terrible new characters. Its just a cheap cashgrab, don´t buy it. You deserve better. Expand

Solo he jugado y completado por salirme gratis. De haber tenido que pagar jamás lo habría jugado.

After playing for a little while, the game quickly became extremely tedious and boring, as the battles are so easy that they require literally no thought, just repeatedly pressing A to win the battle. Pokemon games were always easy games for kids, but at least in the past you had to make choices on occasion, like item management (buying and using potions and revives, etc).

The marketing was misleading - the synopsis says "deep enough to keep veteran Trainers on their toes", but I don't agree with that at all. (Speaking as someone who has played the games since crystal, though I wouldn't consider myself a hardcore player by any means.) The addition of multiple difficulty options would have really improved the game in this respect.

The almost complete lack of a post-game was also pretty disappointing.

This is easily the worst Pokémon game I have ever had the displeasure of playing. They changed the catching mechanic so that it's like Pokémon GO (which works fine on mobile but not on console), they got rid of EV's and replaced them with AV's or some useless **** and the game is painfully easy. I'm not expecting anything super difficult, but I could beat this game with 4 broken limbs. IThis is easily the worst Pokémon game I have ever had the displeasure of playing. The endgame ruins the experience for me. After beating the Elite 4, there is nothing to do after except go catch Mewtwo, fight Green, and then you have what are called "master trainers." This is the absolute worst idea in the franchise. Without going into too much detail, beating them is so frustrating and not rewarding in any way. Grinding levels in this game is slower than ever, and grinding candy is beyond frustrating. The new system where you don't battle wild pokémon was weird and off-putting at first, but it isn't horrible. What IS horrible, is how frustrating the actual mechanics are. To put it simply, the motion controls DO NOT WORK. I cannot tell you how many times I went to throw one way, and the ball flies in the literal opposite direction. On top of all that, your chances of catching pokémon never gets any easier no matter what streak you have, or how many of that species you have caught before.

Playing beyond the elite 4 is zero fun. Catching pokémon is frustrating and zero fun. The master trainers are broken, use cheap mechanics, and zero fun to beat. The rival is pathetic, lame, and zero fun to interact with. Even when you unlock the ability to "fly" on your pokémon, you still are constantly going into menus to go through gates instead of being able to fly easily between cities. The game leaves you with an empty, frustrated feeling. Eevee is cute and fun to interact with, that is the only reason I am not giving the game a 0/10.
Screw this game, an absolute waste of money and has ensured that I will not buy another pokémon game on the Switch.

The game is a nice complement to the other games that have implemented some good qualities, as the game is a remake of a kanto game, it seems a bit dated and fussing that we can not get anything else and the love always goes to their first child, in my play it got bad and slow when you got further in the story and it ended with I stopped all day it did not give me anything to play it

Un gioco gradevole ma che taglia tanti contenuti rispetto al precedente remake rosso fuoco, sistema di combattimento con selvatici da rivedere totalmente. La semplificazione delle lotte rimuovendo le abilità è un peccato.

Get FireRed, LeafGreen, HeartGold, SoulSilver, or even Red/Blue/Yellow/Gold/Silver/Crystal instead. They are on better consoles, they are less than half the price, and they literally have more conent than Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee.

Overall, I did have a blast playing Pokémon Let’s Go Eevee. I did like visiting all the cities of the original Pokémon games again and seeing all the original Pokémon. However, I really did not like how they changed how you capture Pokémon and I did not like the setup of the Pokémon boxes. For those who want to play this game for nostalgia reasons, I would recommend waiting until a sale comes out before purchasing. For newcomers to Pokémon, this is a really good introduction into the world of Kanto.

It’s hard to make sense of the game that’s basically a Switch port of iOS/Android remake of Pokemon Red/Green. Is it a step forward, step backward – or maybe just a shameless cash-in? Turns out, it’s a great remake – the world looks exactly as we imagined it back when we were staring at black and white pixels of original Red/Green. [Issue#235, p.44]
