Get FireRed, LeafGreen, HeartGold, SoulSilver, or even Red/Blue/Yellow/Gold/Silver/Crystal instead. They are on better consoles, they are less than half the price, and they literally have more conent than Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee.

Solo he jugado y completado por salirme gratis. De haber tenido que pagar jamás lo habría jugado.

The game is a nice complement to the other games that have implemented some good qualities, as the game is a remake of a kanto game, it seems a bit dated and fussing that we can not get anything else and the love always goes to their first child, in my play it got bad and slow when you got further in the story and it ended with I stopped all day it did not give me anything to play it

The endgame ruins the experience for me. After beating the Elite 4, there is nothing to do after except go catch Mewtwo, fight Green, and then you have what are called "master trainers." This is the absolute worst idea in the franchise. Without going into too much detail, beating them is so frustrating and not rewarding in any way. Grinding levels in this game is slower than ever, and grinding candy is beyond frustrating. The new system where you don't battle wild pokémon was weird and off-putting at first, but it isn't horrible. What IS horrible, is how frustrating the actual mechanics are. To put it simply, the motion controls DO NOT WORK. I cannot tell you how many times I went to throw one way, and the ball flies in the literal opposite direction. On top of all that, your chances of catching pokémon never gets any easier no matter what streak you have, or how many of that species you have caught before.

Playing beyond the elite 4 is zero fun. Catching pokémon is frustrating and zero fun. The master trainers are broken, use cheap mechanics, and zero fun to beat. The rival is pathetic, lame, and zero fun to interact with. Even when you unlock the ability to "fly" on your pokémon, you still are constantly going into menus to go through gates instead of being able to fly easily between cities. The game leaves you with an empty, frustrated feeling. Eevee is cute and fun to interact with, that is the only reason I am not giving the game a 0/10.
Screw this game, an absolute waste of money and has ensured that I will not buy another pokémon game on the Switch.

This is easily the worst Pokémon game I have ever had the displeasure of playing. They changed the catching mechanic so that it's like Pokémon GO (which works fine on mobile but not on console), they got rid of EV's and replaced them with AV's or some useless **** and the game is painfully easy. I'm not expecting anything super difficult, but I could beat this game with 4 broken limbs. IThis is easily the worst Pokémon game I have ever had the displeasure of playing. I hate how this game relies on the gimmicky mechanics of Pokemon Go, which I strongly dislike. Training pokemon is much harder and leaves a lot of clutter in the PC full of pokemon as your heavily reliant on catching pokemon to gain exp. points. God help you if you screw up with catching pokemon as you will earn less exp. for catching that one pokemon for the third to the fourth time. That also means you have to waste a lot of money on a lot of pokeballs that could have been spent on other things important for battles.

There is also that small problem where the player character can't decide whether to run or walk. I constantly have my joystick in the right direction and somehow the controls jerk between walking and running that slows me down, and I find that really annoying.

Needless to say, this is definitely the worst Pokemon game I've ever played. Never have I would ever say that a Pokemon game is bad, because I've been a lifelong fan of the series, but the fact that this is just a Pokemon Go game on a console made me question Gamefreaks experimentation and reliance on a single mobile game. Thank goodness they did not follow this trend on Sword and Shield otherwise I would have stopped anticipating new Pokemon games in the future. Sure Sword and Shield dumbed down the difficulty and cut most of the Pokedex, and X and Y lacked in good storytelling, but at least I can play those games without being frustrated with how to train your Pokemon. This was a bad experience.

They are bad in docked the pokeballs go all over the place and are very difficult to control and are very not intuitive. The docked controls for the pokeball throwing work fantastic which is sad because the handheld controls are so much more accurate and better. also for people with bigger hands like me using one joycon is very uncomfortable to control everything and feels very janky. The game is very short but i went for an all shiny team which artificially lengthened the game. besides mewtwo's cave and gym rematches/ elite four rematches. there are three bonus trainers and the master trainers but the master trainers aren't even real content they are just padding. I only played handheld because it was just so much better. docked was not fun at all. even the battles were not hard. the eevee they give you in the beginning has perfect IVs and its easy to use it to demolish everything. versing misty give it an electric move, erica a fire type exclusive move. eevee literally makes this game a joke. This is not a good pokemon game. Then there are the gyms and their requirements i loathe these they are just ways to artificially stop you from doing the gym and forces you to do something else besides moving forward. If i don't want pokemon in the beginning of the game why are you forcing me to catch one. This game hampers you in the worst of ways. Also when losing a shiny it doesn't feel like my mistake which is the worst when losing out on catching a pokemon it should be my failure not that the game determines your not going to catch it. I never felt in control when trying to catch a shiny and that was the worst part.

there is some good in this game. The shinys appear in the wild like any other pokemon and are visible and you don't need to run into them to find out if they are actually shiny. they appear shiny like any other pokemon. and the customization options are pretty nice for you and eevee.

Overall this is a bad pokemon game. I honestly think they should have spent more resources on gen 8 rather than this. These are just not fun and that's the worst part. literally i beat the game on auto pilot from saffron to the pokemon league. the game is just that boring that i barely paid attention. The rival is extremely boring, team rocket is the same as usual, and they made this bare bones. I rather them skip a year than make something like this again because this was a terrible experience. I love pokemon but this was not fun for a pokemon game and that's saying something. It was tolerable when in handheld at best and at worst docked was unplayable because catching with the joycon SUCKS. I hope they don't make a sequel to this terrible game.

After playing for a little while, the game quickly became extremely tedious and boring, as the battles are so easy that they require literally no thought, just repeatedly pressing A to win the battle. Pokemon games were always easy games for kids, but at least in the past you had to make choices on occasion, like item management (buying and using potions and revives, etc).

The marketing was misleading - the synopsis says "deep enough to keep veteran Trainers on their toes", but I don't agree with that at all. (Speaking as someone who has played the games since crystal, though I wouldn't consider myself a hardcore player by any means.) The addition of multiple difficulty options would have really improved the game in this respect.

The almost complete lack of a post-game was also pretty disappointing.

When catching Pokémon, It's not like the originals. It retarded, everybody knows that you first have to battle a Pokémon to make it easier to catch, but in Let's Go you can only throw balls at them, which we all know from the anime is not effective.. I would like an option to turn this Pokémon Go feature off...

And here I am, some 20 something years later, playing THE EXACT SAME GAME, with a vernish cover, ok, but essentially the exact same thing. I just can't... How does the Nintendo main players can take this? It feels like Fifa or Madden. You put some new face here and there in the roster and it's good to go? wtf
Nothing is fun. nothing is new, there's zero appeal. This bs turn battles are old af, really, I don't know how can gamers put up with that for so long.

My rating is not zero for a very few things alone:

    - 2 points for pure nostalgia - I just love this 150+ characters, I grew up with them (even tho anything else seemed to mature in pokemon at all) it feels home, in a way
    - half a point for riding some of the pokemons (actually I feel like this part is more about the nostalgia too, because that's the dream of almost every single 90s' kid (and if I really think about it, it's half baked af, and stupid in a lot of ways. Just, PLEASE, allow the player to hop on or off the "ride" pokemon with a single button, not like 5 entries in 3 different menus)
    - the other half point for me is the cute graphics. But Again I feel a little fooled. It is pretty and cute, yes, but god, it's 2020. It is a 24yo multibilionaire franchise. So, what, you didn't have enough time or enough money to freaking program really good and unique animations? Especially in this game, in particular, considering it only has the first generation of monsters.

I know some of the "Nintenders" would hate me to say something like "we want a reall open world Pokemon game", but come on, don't we? Really, didn't you expect that by 2020 we would have something like Breath of the Wild in pokemon? imagine you freaking ACTUALLY FLYING in a charizard through a diverse open world, having to take care of your charizard buddy ride, or swapping it for another ride, because you just enter a cold snowy segment of the map, while you go after that rare artinuco. Imagine all that instead of going inside the same plot hole 'cave' in wich a legendary BIRD pokemon decided to built it's nest???? wtf, dude.
Or, okay, that seem too much? That seems like a Red Dead Pokédemption? Alright, so what about something entirely new? Forget about the little kid who's ten and is starting is poke journey and all that crap. Thing about a new plot. Something entirely new. Idk, something like the movie Detective Pikachu did; just hire some good writters and ask for new ideas.

I know pokemon is still a children targeted franchise (wich i kind think it's a mistake. seeing that half the playerbase are those 90s' kids, who are entering their thirties or worst, right now, and are still hooked with the idea) but can't Nintendo create a new timeline in games? You don't have to stop making this 'ever-the-same', they probably dont even have to invest all that much now, if all the animations and techniques are the same used decades ago. Just keep releasing this same formula games ad infinitum, but gosh, please try something new.

It doesn't matter whether I'm using the motion controls while it's docked (the motion controls for which are horribly imprecise) or moving it around in handheld mode. Catching Pokemon is the single most tedious thing in the entire game. When the whole reason your franchise is popular becomes the most tedious and frustrating thing about it, that's a problem, and that's why my review is so low. The one thing that was the immediate impetus for my writing this review is I had a 9-catch-chain on Weepinbell and the next one bolted after only 2 throws. That tells me random chance is far more of a factor than it should be. It's really sad, because this is otherwise a pretty good game. I'd been hoping that transferring Pokemon from Pokemon GO would allow me to forgo the tedium of catching them in-game, but, alas, you even have to catch the ones you transfer. Catching Pokemon is the whole point of the franchise, and, in Let's Go Eevee, it's not even enjoyable. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Let's Go is a No Go.

Right off the bat this game baits you with nostalgia only to bash you over the head with its poor capture mechanic and awkward single joycon controls. Adding to the frustration, pokemon can run away at literally any time up to and even including when the pokeball hits. Even the Encounter pokemon can run from you too now.

Speaking of Encounter pokemon, you now have to battle them first before you can try to capture them. Plus you only have 5 minutes to beat them in. This restriction is quite unfair as now you need to over power your pokemon to finish the battle in time to get to the capture phase.

The motion controls for the capture mechanic are also inaccurate at times causing your ball to fly off to the left when you want to throw to the right. Most of the time when I wanted to throw directly in front of me, I had to move the joycon up as if I was throwing underhanded. I should mention also that while doing this, my joycon was in the joycon grip accessory alone as not using the Left joycon too felt awkward.

Next is the issue of the box your pokemon are stored in. in every mainline pokemon game, as well as Pokemon Colosseum and XD Gale of Darkness, your pokemon were sent into multiple boxes that could hold up to 20 in the old Gen 1 and 2 games, to 30 pokemon each in Generation 3 and up. Now you have a single box that hold up to 1000 pokemon! Game Freak expects you to be capturing tons of pokemon, but doing so makes it harder to pick out a pokemon to use, similar to picking out a marble from an ever increasing bag of marbles. Without being able to use multiple boxes, sorting pokemon becomes as easy as cleaning a kid's bedroom.

When it comes to training pokemon you're going to have to rely on that capture mechanic most of the time as the only battles you'll be facing are from either 6 specific encounter pokemon, or Trainers. This winds up giving you little personal experience in battling with little room for experimenting outside of battling the elite 4 or Green.

While hyper Training was brought back for this game, it's now rendered moot as there is now a candy system in place to also make a sugar junkie out of your pokemon as you boost their stats with more than just Rare Candies. Beware though, if you take your buffed out pokemon online, you stand running the risk of your pokemon facing a sugar crash and having their stats reverted for the online battle unless you choose the right rule set.

Also online battles and trades are pay walled by the Nintendo switch online service now.

The amount of unique pokemon you can get is also SEVERLY limited to just the first 151 pokemon, plus what might as well be considered Generation 8's first 2 pokemon, Meltan and Melmetal, as they are not usable anywhere else other than the multi-generational pokemon Go. Speaking of Pokemon Go, at the time of this writing, Pokemon Go has pokemon captureable from Generations 1 through 4, but only Bulbasaur through Mewtwo, as well as Meltan and Melmetal can be transferred into Let's Go. This means that in order to get Mew in Let's Go, you need to get the pokeball Plus while the Mew promotion is still going on.

Speaking of that device now, the Mew on it can only be redeemed once. so choose wisely what you do with it. As for how good the device is, I can not say as I do not have it.

While the Game corner does make a comeback, none of the games are playable in it despite the place being converted from a Casino into an Arcade. Instead, you can come here to pick up respawnable items. Fun. /s

The NPC's of Fushia even lie about the Safari zone now as it has been replaced with Go Park.

In past games you could get a bike you could ride to speed up, or ride Tauros in Gen 7. In Let's Go, you get to pick the pokemon you ride, from a selection. However if you get too close to a wall, your pokemon goes back into their ball leaving you on the ground.

Now all that said, I did find somethings likeable about this game. Certain interactions with your partner pokemon were enjoyable, the new Additional story elements were a plus (the additions, not the replacements), and even the part where you get to play as your partner pokemon in the rocket hideout were enjoyable, but they were not enough to save this game.

Nostalgia can only take a product so far, and that distance is even shorter when you have access to the original game, the first remake, and the port to the 3DS. Pokemon Let's go is a No Go, but because of the stuff I did enjoy, I'm giving it a 2 instead of a 1.

I can usually stand a terrible game, but when it's a game for one of my favorite franchises, then I take issue with it.
    1) It took away random encounters and the ability to fight Pokemon and replaced it with the same mechanics as GO
    2) OMG MY RIVAL, I CAN'T STAND IT. Friendly Rivals have always made me a little upset, but after X & Y I kinda just accepted it. But this guy, THIS GUY.

    2) OMG MY RIVAL, I CAN'T STAND IT. Friendly Rivals have always made me a little upset, but after X & Y I kinda just accepted it. But this guy, THIS GUY. He's so friendly, annoyingly so, anytime I saw him I was upset, remembering my encounters with Blue back in FireRed. He failed where even the worst rivals succeeded. Like with Hau. A terrible rival sure, but at least he offered somewhat of a challenge.
    3) Speaking of challenge, it's all but gone, throughout the game I had difficulty with one pokemon, and that was Surge's Raichu since it T-Bolted my entire team and one shot them. The rest of the game was easy. I swear there were no trainers with more than 3 moves on their teams during my run. And if there were I didn't find them.
    4) No handheld items or abilities, which means no competitive play.
    5) CANDY, say hello to my Eevee who's stats are so high that they can annihilate Mewtwo at Lvl. 59. And no, I didn't use any special Eevee moves, just bit him to death.
    6) You'll probably say that it's for people to get introduced to PKMN, no, no way. It has more in common with a mobile game than it does with Yellow, THE GAME IT PULLED INSPIRATION FROM, WAIT NO, IS A REMAKE OF! At best it's made for 4 year olds who play GO and need the hand holding, speaking of which
    7) It has the same hand holding that other games have had a problem with recently, but toned up to 11, I'm not dumb, just let me figure out what I need to do, LIKE I DID IN FIRERED.

In short, GameFreak has disappointed me by removing what I love about the franchise, and replaced it with why I avoided PKMN GO, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, don't buy it and don't encourage Nintendo to keep making games like this, if you need an introduction play something else, you can play oldschool ones on a free emulator online or play one of the new ones on your 3DS. Also Baddy Bad, c'mon Nintendo, your more creative than this

"Let's Go" lacks content and originality. They've taken the "GO" mechanics from mobile app which was intended to play for a couple minutes or even less and implemented this on a console that is being played for much longer, in short this felt very forced.

They've taken out the Safari Zone, Pokemon battles, and difficulty. This is the most expensive to date and has the least content

New players will have better luck playing literally any other Pokemon game. Veterans will find nothing of value here. 0/10

Overall, I did have a blast playing Pokémon Let’s Go Eevee. I did like visiting all the cities of the original Pokémon games again and seeing all the original Pokémon. However, I really did not like how they changed how you capture Pokémon and I did not like the setup of the Pokémon boxes. For those who want to play this game for nostalgia reasons, I would recommend waiting until a sale comes out before purchasing. For newcomers to Pokémon, this is a really good introduction into the world of Kanto.

It’s hard to make sense of the game that’s basically a Switch port of iOS/Android remake of Pokemon Red/Green. Is it a step forward, step backward – or maybe just a shameless cash-in? Turns out, it’s a great remake – the world looks exactly as we imagined it back when we were staring at black and white pixels of original Red/Green. [Issue#235, p.44]
