    This is the second best pokemon game on the switch I love the top down perspective I wish they used it more.

    This game gets way too much hate for what it is. I don’t think it’s a great game even compared to legends: Arceus, but it’s a nostalgic trip for those of us who played gen 4. Not a great game to start the series but I think if you’re a Pokémon fan looking to spend some time in a fun game this is definitely it.

    Autant dire que le remaster, je l'attendais au tournant. Et je n'ai pas été déçu tout est exactement comme je m'en souviens en plus beau

    C'est vrai que les interactions sont un peu longues, les dialogues assez dérangeants et que les combats coupent trop le jeu
    Mais c'est finalement bien, car c'est fidèle au jeu de base sorti sur DS, et je pense que ce remaster en est le parfait exemple : remettre un jeu au goût du jour sans le dénaturer. Le multijoueur dans l'underground est parfaitement inutile mais c'est un prétexte pour se retrouver entre amis et partager de bons moments, et se créer des souvenirs...

    Je suis par nature extrêmement sensible à la nostalgie et ce jeu l'exploite parfaitement !
    J'aurais mis 10, mais c'est vrai que si tu n'as pas joué à la version ds à sa sortie, tu peux être insensible à pas mal de choses symboliques dans ce jeu.

    The hate in this game feels completely random and unwarranted. Every criticism aside from a lack of a battle frontier is an example of moving the goalposts.

    Excepts for a few overworld human models this is the best looking game not just in the franchise but on the Switch itself. This is also objectively the hardest game in the franchise as well.     When I was a kid, I got Pokemon Diamond to get through my sister's never-ending haircut. At the moment I started my DS, the world around me started to fade away.
    I played other Pokemon before, but man, I never thought how long and where this edition would accompany me. Many years have passed since I was this deeply immersed in a Nintendo game.
    When a remake for exactly this edition was    When I was a kid, I got Pokemon Diamond to get through my sister's never-ending haircut. At the moment I started my DS, the world around me started to fade away.
    I played other Pokemon before, but man, I never thought how long and where this edition would accompany me. Many years have passed since I was this deeply immersed in a Nintendo game.

    When a remake for exactly this edition was supposed to appear, buying a Switch was a no-brainer for me. I can understand some criticism of this remake. You can't please everyone.
    But some reviews degenerate into hate speech.
    The game is currently in very good shape. Technically as well as playfully I see it as a full-fledged remake.

    Many QoL features from previous editions have been implemented without changing the actual character of that generation.
    The only thing that annoys me a bit is that you can't turn off the XP divider and attack assist.
    Providing such an option would not have meant much additional effort.
    Now Pokemon is even easier than it already is.

    I deduct a star for that. But that's about it. Everything else - the graphics, the music, everything is just right. Pokemon Brilliant Diamond is - in my opinion - one of the best Pokemon games ever released.

    I think it's a shame that this game has upset so many players. Many - it seems to me - are literally looking for points of criticism. Some people don't like the top-down gameplay, others think the graphics suck, others denounce bugs that I haven't even experienced in the 400 hours of play so far. Some even seem like they haven't played the game at all and just want to give bad reviews.

    I can tell you, if you loved the original as much as I did, you're going to love this remake too.    … Expand

    They could do it better (for example, with more special content and without omitting mega evos, new Pokémon and regional forms) but the Grand Underground partly compensate for these lacks.
    Anyway, these games (both BD and SP) are a good way to approach the Sinnoh experience - since they are very similar to the original ones.
    Someone could despise the chibi style of the characters in the overworld...but in the end nobody should argue what the other ones like or dislike.

Unlike those games however Pokemobn Brillaint diamond does NOT have any form of pokemon. that's right. Okay but to give credit to the developers (who are quite Briallient and Shining) they did include a way to caputer the mythical pokemon keldo.     Aloowe me to begin with the positives of this game. Number 1. The graphics are **** terrible. They're on par with the bad tree game and make me smell really BAD

    Number 2. The problems.
    Problem number 0.5/ The game lackes a way to obtain a furrent in the main story wihtout trading which means A. you need money ( you don't have any because you bought this game ) or B. you need friends ( you don't have any because you bought this game )

    ALl in all though, i'd say this is a worthwhile experience for the average pokemon fan enduring the time on the swithc. Main issues lie with lack of gamemodes, no control point and team battle really makes this game not as fantastic as the newest pokemon games like legends fartitucs but you have to remember these games are still good despite that mainly due to the addition of keldo.    … Expand

    One of the best Pokémon games ever released. These are remakes that surpass the originals in every way. The Pokemon following you is so adorable, the remade music is better than the original and the game, while still easy like every other Pokémon game is more challenging than the originals. The stickers and the minigames are little things that make these game a million times better too.One of the best Pokémon games ever released.     Loved playing pokemon diamond glad to see a pretty good remake for it. Idk why people were expecting a brand new adventure. It stayed loyal to diamond fans and thats exactly what it did.
    Although as much as I wanted to give it a 10 it did not fix the last issues of the previous diamond game

    Not the best remakes, but in any case very enjoyable
    Apart from Snowpoint gym, which has the same problem as the original game, the distortion world which is not present even after the pokémon league, and the battle frontier this game is good
    Not as good as HGSS but certainly not worse than ORAS

    This is more of a pokemon game than scarlet and violet are. They should just go back to this format of game.

    An enjoyable trip back to the DP games. A lot of people complain about it being too similar, however, it's been 10+ years. If you remember the originals so well then that's your problem. Great graphics, enjoyable underground gameplay, fun ways to play post game with a bit of challenge. Some hacks/bugs made the game pretty interesting to play as well.

    This was definitely a fun game to play AFTER Arceus as the story lines coincide with each other to a degree. The battles were fun, as were the gyms, I did feel like by the time I got to the Elite 4 I was a bit under powered considering I battled virtually every single trainer. I had to spam some XP in the ocean and cave prior to actually beating the Elite 4, (I will admit, I am not aThis was definitely a fun game to play AFTER Arceus as the story lines coincide with each other to a degree. The battles were fun, as were the gyms, I did feel like by the time I got to the Elite 4 I was a bit under powered considering I battled virtually every single trainer. I had to spam some XP in the ocean and cave prior to actually beating the Elite 4, (I will admit, I am not a "Gotta Catch Em' All" player as I hate the random encounter system, which is thankfully no more come Gen 9.) The graphics are of course clean, colorful and cute, it reminds me of the Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening remaster. I would say definitely pick this game up if you were a fan of the storyline in Arceus and haven't played the original Diamond on DS.… Expand

I played with quite some ease, until I reached the champion fight. I went there with the same or even a bit lower of the levels and I won. Beating her took me like 30 minutes (first try, but this 1 fight lasted for 30minutes...)

    I disliked the overworld chibi style, but other than that it was what I needed. Later, I shiny hunted some pokemon and finished all of the ramanas park and the legendary/mythical events. Good game, I will try to nuzlocke it later on my second profile.    … Expand

    No sé que esperan los fans de pokémon de un remake.... En fin no hay nadie que le haga más daño a pokemon que el fan de pokemon. A mí me ha encantado el juego, se ve fantástico y es muy divertido.

    Quite good. I like the style and the systems are in good shape. Just what I expect from a pokemon game. Only reason it's not a 10 is because it lacks certain updates the original game had.

    Only downside is the tunnels… like the Original u can find all sorts of items & stuff to evolve Rhyperior or Electivire r Not available till u best the elite 4…    … Expand

    I especially like the Pokémon and trainer model shading which is closer to Pokémon go, no outlines - almost painterly. Also.. the more dense layout plays and feels better than Sword & Shield. And the bike just needs skill and purpose; yes you need to practice and yes you need to get off the bike    It’s just a really good Pokémon game.. don’t listen to all the nitpickers and naysayers ;)!

    Well who would have thought.. Brilliant Diamond has the better solution!
    -> Tap the one button fast and you can skip to the correct page in an instant; objectively faster than going back and forth one page like in Platinum.

    It's very similar to the original ones with few improvements (all TMs can be found with repeatable methods) but with a revolutionary underground section.
    Now called "The Grand Underground"
    No more useless traps. Wild Pokémon added (starters too)

Don’t listen to these 0 and 1 reviews! These games have always been divisive in the past and they’ve always had the same flaws. I love the chibi style,because it works so well in this game.     Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are faithful remakes of the 2006 Nintendo DS games. They probably lean too much on the safe side, not achieving an awful lot to improve on the originals other than a few quality-of-life improvements. The improved Underground sections are a welcome addition, but the missing features from Pokémon Platinum are a big let-down. All in all, though, the Sinnoh region offers just as brilliant of an adventure as it was 15 years ago and the formula that worked back then (and then some) is still as addictive to this day. If you are a fan of classic Pokémon titles, this is a no-brainer.

    I honestly think ILCA's decision to play it safe was the biggest thing that hurt Brilliant Diamond. Maybe if it had included a few more of the story beats and improvements that were introduced in Platinum, I'd be giving it a higher grade. [Issue #57 – January/February 2022, p. 66]

    Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl is a decent remaster transferring the fourth generation from Nintendo DS to Switch. The authors handled well the absence of the second screen, but in the case of game mechanics they could go a bit further.
