If you're after a puzzler, I couldn't recommend Piczle Lines DX enough. Just the amount of addictiveness and content you want, and a lot of DLC content to come as well. You won't be getting bored of it anytime soon, and being able to come and go as you please is a big plus point. A welcome addition to the Switch library.

Piczle Lines DX is rewarding, charming, and a great game to wind down with if you want your brain to settle or you can't sleep.

Despite a few minor issues, Piczle Lines DX is an excellent puzzle game with a tonne of content and more free content on the way. It will keep you entertained for days, if not weeks. It might be playable on mobile, but the Switch version is cheaper overall, and the option of traditional controls makes the Switch version the definitive Piczle experience.

Besides Tetris, puzzle games have had a hard time keeping my attention. As we’re finding out with the Switch, games I wouldn't have previously enjoyed are finding new audiences with its ability to play quick snippets of games anywhere you go. Piczle Lines DX is a perfect example of a game that works great in any situation and provides so much content that only the most puzzle-obsessed fans will be able to get through them all, maybe.

Piczle Lines DX brings a fun and challenging concept to the puzzle game genre and resembles a crossover between Picross and Sudoku. It does a good use of the Nintendo Switch capabilities, namely of its touch screen but it could use more game modes for its price and it would benefit from a multiplayer mode.

Piczle Lines DX is relatively pricey (at launch) for a download puzzle game, but it offers 300+ sizeable and quality picture conundrums to solve; it'll take most players a long time to solve every image. It's a fun mechanic that feels like a clever combination of other puzzle styles, and the option to detach the Joy-Con and use the touchscreen alone also makes it an appealing game for a bit of quiet downtime slouched in a comfortable chair. Its smartphone legacy lets it down a little in presentation, and beyond solving lots of puzzles it's lacking any smart variations in modes or even multiplayer. Nevertheless, in terms of serving up plenty of challenging content it does the job rather well.

Piczle Lines DX isn't a bad game. In fact, it does what it wants to do almost perfectly. There are a ton of puzzles here to solve, from the small bite-sized ones that can be solved in minutes to big, sprawling challenges that can take hours. Unfortunately, it is simply that the underlying concept here simply is not that interesting. This is a boring kind of puzzler, and feels a bit like putting together an actual puzzle over and over… and over again. There is probably a niche for this, a certain kind of puzzle enthusiast that likes these slower, more plodding experiences. A vast majority of gamers, however, are going to lose interest fast because it only really has one trick that it does repeatedly. Piczle Lines DX is a perfectly adequate experience.

Its docked controls may be clunky, but Piczle Lines DX’s mobile roots show it was always supposed to be controlled with a touchscreen. Play it in handheld mode (preferably listening to something else) and you’ll find an addictive game with loads of puzzles to keep you busy for hours.

It is a simple game where you draw coloured lines between numbered points and try to fit everything together until a pixel art image is created. It is an excellent time waster just don't expect it to do anything else.

The story mode is short and the puzzle difficulty increases gradually letting you learn the game without any issues but the real depth is in the puzzle mode which has received several free expansions and offers hours of content at no extra cost.

The pixel art is well done and, thanks to the scale (up to 128x128), more detailed than the likes of Picross S.

This game is currently my 6 most played game on Nintendo Switch. There's so many puzzles.
