    There's people who love this game a lot. There is huge void of JRPGs after all. Not to mention, the game is EXTREMELY anime-y and that does well with the anime obsessed weeb market. And I will say that it is exceptionally stylish. Put all this together and I can understand why someone might find it worth it to power through the first few hours. And after that, I'm sure you'll LOVE thisThere's people who love this game a lot. There is huge void of JRPGs after all. Put all this together and I can understand why someone might find it worth it to power through the first few hours. And after that, I'm sure you'll LOVE this game because it just has SO MUCH CONTENT. Its like a love letter to the anime obsessed (who really ought to spend this time tackling a classic novel and develop some good taste and culture).

    But anime (and a lot of its byproducts like visual novels) is really one of the lowest forms of art out there. And that makes sense because it is, in Japan, largely made for kids and teens. The Japanese equivalent of Marvel comics and movies. Which makes even more sense in Persona's case given much of this literally seems like the fantasy of a 16 year old boy.

    This also explains why the sexualized 'waifu' females in this game are 15 years old. If you are a 17 year old Japanese kid playing this game, thats fine. If you are a 28 year old western male under the impression this game was not made for teens, its pretty weird to even be playing this and looking at that (although, given thats a possibility its a case against sexualizing 15 year olds, period.)

    And its made weirder still given that this is essentially a dating sim for a fair bit of the time. In fact, Persona is a lot of things and no doubt that makes it appealing to the people who become so deeply engrossed in the game. But it also does nothing very well. Dating sim with 15 year olds? Besides being weird, the relationships are not particularly interesting either. Dungeon crawler? The levels are bland and almost seem randomly generated. Turn based JRPG? Refreshing in this day and age, but inferior in depth to DQ11, as well as in enemy design etc. Visual Novel? The story, dialogue and characters are simply not interesting enough.

    There are some good things. The OST is FANTASTIC. The style of everything is also exceptional. Some of the dialogue can be funny, quippy, and quirky sometimes.

    Overall, this seems like a game made for 16 year old boys to insert themselves into and experience a power fantasy much like western comic books. Its not meant to be high art, its meant to be popcorn entertainment. If you have the amount of time of a teenager, then the content here will also be amazing and I'm sure you think its a fantastic game. But for adults to play this and consider it to be amazing is just bizarre. The extreme amount of bland content here is not amazing, its a chore.    … Expand

    Its great, but the time you are given is just enough and hard to manage. The combat is great and let's be honest the boss fights are like hell. I reccomend whole-heartedly but its a long road, stressfull and frustrating at times, and the controls and performance on the switch are kinda lacking, even though its a spectacular port.

    The game is almost perfect. Visually stunning with good plot. The only thing that annoyed me was the dialogue I found it really stupid sometimes.

    Persona 5, Royal or otherwise, is a fantastic game that tells a story that really shows how much video games can move a person emotionally. If you get the time and money, play it. It's good! And the last 20 something reviews I've done have been me in a sarcastic rage. I was off my meds for the last several months and I also needed a solid punch in the face.

    I was captivated the whole 140 hours i played. Has some of the best music in any video game. I wish the social links weren't mostly boring and copy pastes, but besides that it was a near perfect experience.

    J'ai découvert ce jeu sur playstation 4 en 2021 , je ne connaissais pas la série , je l'ai acheté car c'était un rpg au tour par tour et traduit en français. Je n'aimais pas de plus à la base le style manga. J'étais fan de la série des FF depuis ff7 sur ps1 et d'autres avant(ff6,ff5 etc).... et ce jeu a été une révélation. Une histoire(plutôt des) histoire passionnante,J'ai découvert ce jeu sur playstation 4 en 2021 , je ne connaissais pas la série , je l'ai acheté car c'était un rpg au tour par tour et traduit en français.     First,I've never played Persona's predecessor,so I think it is very amazing for me.It has the best story and the best art in almost all games.However,on the Swich,it is not too suitable for the game,that's why I score 9 instead of 10.

    This was one of the first PS4 games I owned and I think it was a stylish introduction. It may drag on at some points but If you stick with it, you may find something to love.

    One of the best games i have ever played. There are so many things to do in this game its just insane. This is definitely worth 60 dollars and its even more worth it if the price is lower than that. The story in this game is amazing and will satisfy anybody (except maybe persona 4 fans). You use personas which you either "catch" or create with fusions. Each persona use different attack types and has different weaknesses. Each persona represents "Arcana" just like your relationships. Better relations with friend that represent "Justice" arcana will make "Justice" persona fusions better.

    Oversimplifying: Like Pokemon game where "power of friendship" impact how well your subordinates will fight.

    This is solid 7/10 mechanic but not good enough to keep you for 120h. What keep you is story and social links. Sadly in Persona 5 Royal (except a few) all social links are dull. E.g. in Persona 4 you focus on your friends: who they are and who they want to be. Persona 4 is about growing and accepting yourself.

    In Persona 5 you focus on your friends problems. One guys is kicked out of sports team, other girl is worried about her friend, 3rd want to make medication. In most cases you just don't really care. Story is not bad but is not extraordinary either.

    Persona 4 had 5/10 mechanics but main story and all sub-stories made it 9.5/10 game.

    Amazing, one of the best game experience I ever had. Probably the best game that I have played in 2022.
    update: after playing the other persona games and replaying persona 5 royal, i noticed many flaws, it doesn't stop being a great game tho.

    Great story which adds a Lot to the base game, compelling characters with great narratives, and the soundtrack Is one of if not the best of videogames in general, the experience in switch Is good, with stable fps and a high resolution overall, it has nothing to Envy to other consoles when it comes to runinng the game smoothly

    Absolutely fantastic game, from start to finish. Superb visuals, soundtrack, story and turn based gameplay. A few complaints like how the confidant system takes too long and some of them are almost useless, and the story taking too much time sometimes, aren't enough to eclipse this absolute gem of a game. You should definitely play this if given the chance.

    Este juego logro lo que pensaba imposible, jamas creí que algún videojuego lograra superar a the legend of zelda breath of the wild y a the last of us en mi top 1, tenia un empate con esos dos porque no se cual me gusta mas, en 2023, viviendo no el mejor de mis momentos un día un bendito día decidí instalar la prueba de 4 horas de este juego en mi play 5, la mejor decisión que he tomado enEste juego logro lo que pensaba imposible, jamas creí que algún videojuego lograra superar a the legend of zelda breath of the wild y a the last of us en mi top 1, tenia un empate con esos dos porque no se cual me gusta mas, en 2023, viviendo no el mejor de mis momentos un día un bendito día decidí instalar la prueba de 4 horas de este juego en mi play 5, la mejor decisión que he tomado en mi historia, le basto menos de una hora para enamorarme, lo busque en múltiples plataformas hasta que me decidí por Nintendo, un acierto mas considerando el tiempo que me la pase jugando en portátil, fue una experiencia tan única de principio a fin, se convirtió en mi adicción, solo me ha pasado esto dos veces, con obras audiovisuales primero con Zelda BOTW y con SNK el anime, me pegue unas viciadas a estos dos de 14 horas por día, pero lo que me paso con persona los supero sin lugar a dudas es un universo tan hermoso y con problemáticas tan reales y hasta comunes, mas para mi que tengo 20 años, lo de ir a la escuela y meterse en problemas es algo que tengo muy reciente, es tan sencillo encariñarte con estos personajes, todos aportan algo y tienen su propia historia, sus propios problemas, es mejor que la vida real, para alguien como yo que los últimos años se la ha pasado aislado de la sociedad y que ni cuando esta con sus amigos disfruta, es raro me da pena decir que prefiero vivir en ese mundo de p5r que en el real, pero es cierto, persona 5 no solo me hizo ver las cosas de distinta manera, me hizo apreciar el mundo en el que vivo, las distintas e infinitas posibilidades que tenemos en el, apreciar los pequeños detalles, aptitudes que pasan desapercibidas, cosas como leer, estudiar, preparar un café, etc. ver como joker lo hacia me causo un instaromantizamiento de las pequeñas cosas que se pueden hacer en el día, me dan ganas de relacionarme con muchas personas, estudiar, practicar algún deporte, buscar empleo, este juego me regreso las ganas de vivir que vi perdidas hace bastante tiempo ya.

    Hay millones de cosas que no voy a abarcar en esta reseña porque es un juego tan largo y tan perfecto que no me da el tiempo, solo finalizare con que Persona 5 cambio y salvo mi vida, es mi juego favorito, ayer lo acabe y me siento vacío pero con esas ganas de comerme al mundo, que p5r me regreso, estaré eternamente agradecido con todas las personas que hicieron posible la realización de este juego, les debo mucho y no hay palabras que expresen lo que este juego significa para mi, en cuento tenga dinero me llevare este juego en la piel y en la tumba, sera el primer tatuaje que tenga chance el ultimo, lo que si se es que no quiero jamas olvidar lo que significa para mi.

    Najlepszy JRPG na najlepsze konsoli do JRPGów stworzonej. Nie wybrażam sobie ogrywać tej historii na czymkolwiek innym. Czekałem na ten port lata i udało się. Wbite 150 godzin, najpiękniejsza przygoda w życiu zaliczona.

    Absolutely the best RPG I've ever played. Nothing comes close to the sheer amount of style and personality P5 displays in it's every aspect, and the music is probably the most consistently banging out of any videogame ost.

While in portable mode it feels like the equivalent of wearing your friend’s prescription glasses while you have 20/20 vision; a blurry mess. If you are a portable mode Switch user, I highly recommend to avoid this game onAmazing game, VERY BAD port. This game ran on the PS3 at 720p.     Persona 5 Royal is a title for every video game lover. The style and art direction have characterized it and finished establishing the franchise. Its arrival on new consoles will only allow more people to enjoy one of the best games that Atlus has made with this team. The only problem is its enormous duration that, for some, could seem unnecessary amid excellent character development that immerses the player in their world.

    If you're looking for something to play at the coffee shop or on the train, then I'd recommend picking up Persona 5 Royal on Nintendo Switch. It might be best experienced on other consoles, but playing one of the greatest games of this decade on the go sounds pretty nice to me.

    The Switch has had a good run of major ports lately, and Persona 5 Royal is no exception. It may have taken a while to get here, but the journey is more than worthwhile for new and returning Thieves. And now, Smash fans will finally know who Joker really is.
