There are some nice ideas in Perfect Angle, but in the end they don't add up to an interesting enough experience.

Poor game, and a poor conversion onto Switch.

Conversion isssues: Frequent framerate issues, often low, but can drop into 5 FPS range after destroying objects. No control options - can only use left stick, not d-pad, and cannot turn off vibration which happens CONSTANTLY as you turn the view.

    Game issues:
    - The shape you are hunting for is revealed if you spend a 'hint'. Hints take 2 minutes to recharge, so you are literally hunting for something you don't know the shape of for most of the time.
    - There is very little sense of achievement for finding the solution, due to the above point and because also it automatically 'locks' you in if you are near the solution. So, often, you'll just see a mangled mess of shapes, then you hit the threshold of being near the solution and it does the last little bit for you - 'magically' transforming that random jumble into an image you didn't know you were searching for.

    - There is a story. I'd rather they spent more time on making the game enjoyable and well designed than spending time on an abstract story that makes no sense in the context of the game anyway.

    - It is not a pretty game. Sure it sometimes has some neat abstracted geometry, but aesthetically, this game is not good.

    - It's just not a well designed game. I wouldn't even say it's an OK designed game. It's bad. The solution for one level is to look straight up at the ceiling, at the correct rotation, because the shape made by the architectural opening to the sky is the solution and not anything to do with the 20 random boxes strewn about the level. It's just stupidly going, "Aha, you thought the solution was in the boxes, didn't you!".

    I regret buying this game.

After several minutes of twisting, turning, changing the water level and some sighing, DS2 asks me to solve the puzzle - of something sideways-on...or with objects that weren't part of the picture at all. The puzzle pinged and snapped to the right shape on its own, and not before time. Several of the levels have a nasty blue screen representing being under water - they are not attractive levels. This game is best avoided, even if the trailer looked promising. Full Review »
