Aug 7, 2019Really, it plays so close to the Mystery Dungeon tradition that, as a rabid fan of Shiren, Chocobo Dungeon and the others, I was always going to enjoy this. That dungeon crawling side of the game does make up the bulk of the experience and the otherwise pleasant presentation does make Omega Labyrinth a premium example of its particular genre. It's just a pity that it doesn't do more to make something of that fan service and really justify the controversy that it attracted.

Aug 5, 2019Omega Labyrinth Life was created to appeal to a very specific audience, but that doesn't mean it's a bad game - actually, it's very far from that. Matrix Software clearly understands the Mystery Dungeon formula, and they've pulled out all the stops to deliver an exceptional product. Each of the seven playable characters has their own unique qualities, and partnering them together allows for a lot of tactical options. The subject matter is definitely not going to appeal to everyone, but at least there's an option to skip past the more outrageous content. Just don't expect to find anything resembling "family-friendly" here. All in all, this is highly recommended.
