After the disastrous launch in 2016, Hello Games has managed to restore their reputation with every update. With this port, they have outdone themselves.

This is just incredible. It is the same NMS experience as every other platform with obvious and reasonable compromises in graphical and online play. When 4.0 comes it will likely be even better. If you like NMS and have a Switch it should be an Insta-buy.

I really loved No Mans Sky on the PS4 a couple years ago and now i really love playing it on the Switch. I am suprized how good it runs on a hybrid. It seems like the Switch is getting better every year with great ports. Great job Nintendo and Hello Games.

No Man's Sky's infamously rocky start on PS 4 with too many promises made before release would have made most creators either go ballistic, jump ship or go silent completely. Hello Games were instead humbled and saddened by the fact that people were so disappointed in the beginning and started turning every rock upside down and thinking of ways to improve upon the foundation they had created.

With every subsequent and wonderfully enough, free update so far, No Man's Sky has become the best go-to game for so many space-intrigued adventurers. The physical versions that have been released over the years for consoles make me very happy even though I now own it digitally across all platforms as well.

Hello Games have with the Nintendo Switch version created something I could only have dreamed of. The smooth, and nearly identical to other consoles in terms of gameplay, Nintendo Switch version is a masterpiece that I didn't think they would be able to pull off. But here we are, joyfully exploring the never-ending expanse of stars in No Man's Sky on Nintendo Switch and the sense of awe, mystery and fulfillment is as amazing as ever and with more updates in the future, it can only get better and better. No Man's Sky is a technological and algorithmic wonder and I will always come back again and again, either for short sessions or for long epic adventures.

Don’t listen to the negative reviews. The game runs amazing for a Nintendo Switch Port, colours look gorgeous on the OLED Switch. I have found no issues in the gameplay, framerate has so far been perfectly fine too. If you like exploring, if you already own it on other consoles or pc and you’re asking yourself if you should buy this to play on the go? YES! YOU SHOULD! Really a superb port!

I have been playing NMS since its launch on PC. I have enjoyed all updates since then. As my main laptop is a Mac I always wanted to have some kind of portability for this game. Then, Hello Games did it with the switch.

As others said, to make this game run smooth on switch it comes with a sacrifice on graphics. That's something expected, however I'm impressed on how the made it works

Mediocre switch port. There are some issues here and there, but the game generally gets the job done. It's a fun game that drains the switch's battery, a Galactic Animal Crossing if you will.

I've always wondered why we've been getting so many unfinished games from developers lately, and now I know the answer. It's this huge steaming pile of garbage that's the problem. This game has received heavy admiration from journalists and gamers lately for adding features that should have been in the game from the very start. Had this game actually been released with all these features from the beginning, it would've been forgotten by now like The Last Guardian. Why release a complete functional game from the start, when you can ironically release a broken unfinished mess, and receive more money and praise for fixing it later. CDPR clearly took notes from Hello Games. I'm sick to death of game journalists continuing to encourage these developers to be greedy and lazy.

The gameplay is boring and repetitive. The multiplayer is trash. The graphics are a joke, and so are the physics. The greedy developers are charging $60 for a 6-year-old game that doesn't even have the AAA quality to justify that ridiculous price. That 4.0 update ruined the inventory system. I don't recommend this game at all, unless you want to support laziness.

I played version 4.4.0 on Echoes.
I noticed that it keeps "closing the game" and with an error. This practically happens in space battles or missions to catch the Sentinel ship.

In the initial missions it deserves a rating of 9. Now at the end of the game with so many errors it deserves a rating of 4.

Even though many voices in the front spoke of a rather weak implementation, we are almost completely satisfied with No Man's Sky. Thanks to the new and extensive expansion, the title can now be played better and looks very good on the Nintendo console. I was impressed when it launched but pretty disappointed we didn't get the waypoint update. But so happy when it finally dropped. Before that I had a hard time finding the right mode for me. I liked aspects of normal and creative, but after about 6 hours of each; I found creative a little too light on the challenge. And on normal I enjoyed the challenge but there were times I just wanted to mine without being molested by sentinels.
The new custom mode is perfect. If I'm in the mood to just create and build or if I'm in the mood for some fighting, I can just adjust as I want. And that's my favourite thing. Not only am I free to choose my own path and play my own game but I can also dial in what I want my experience to be at any given moment.

There's just no end of stuff to go and acomplish in this game. Since I don't generally play this kind of game it's taking a bit of getting used to a game that really has no end.

Honestly I'm floored by how they managed to get something this massive to run on the Switch. Sure, there are some sacrifices but I never played other versions so I can't compare.

My biggest complaint is how often it crashes. Of the 30 or so games on my Switch, this is the only that crashes. It's more tolerable with the autosave system though. Considering the sheer scale of what this achieves on a Switch, crashes are to be expected. Although moving it to the internal storage seems to have helped.

I had a single game where flight was getting glitchy, and was choppy, so I just landed and saved. Quit and reloaded, and the smoothness was back. Still feel like I’m basically a newbie, but the advancement is consistent and the excitement for hitting up new galaxies and planets is still there. Playing on Normal and really haven’t felt overwhelmed at all. The first hour was like “holy crap” what am I doing, but after I got settled and into a working ship… it became a much more relaxing experience. Much like Skyrim… I see myself coming back to this game for many years to come. Cheers. Expand

    JOURNEY TO THE CORE

    BEFORE WE START:
No Man's Sky was developed and published by Hello Games and released in 2016. This title was released under completely adverse conditions compared to those presented at various conventions and fairs, and therefore, it was heavily criticized. After dozens of updates, the game became very similar to what was originally announced. The title has been fully released on Game Pass PC.

    THE TAKE OFF:
No Man's Sky, as a pure survival game, instantly throws the player into the clutches of a planet immersed in the infinite universe. This planet can randomly be peaceful or malevolent, making the first steps more or less challenging depending on the type. The initial stages mainly involve learning the basics of survival, as well as constructing a small personal base. After these steps, the player will be unleashed into the universe of the Atlas, a mysterious deity or legend that requires the player to reach the center of the universe. As an interlude, the player can literally explore endless planets, take on dozens of side missions, and build bases on planets or immense frigates.

    STALENESS UNIVERSE:
The gameplay of No Man's Sky is as varied as it is repetitive. In addition to the mere survival aspect of collecting resources, surviving in hostile planets, and fighting sentinels, players can venture into cooperative missions and raids on frigates and outposts. Furthermore, a small part of the game certainly involves space battles, albeit very simple ones. The true heart of the gameplay in this immense title lies in the exploration of thousands of planets, which often differ greatly, and the various space wrecks. A small mechanic that encourages exploration is the bestiary and encyclopedia of creatures and objects on the planets, offering small rewards in currency.

    WHAT COLOR IS THE SPACE?:
Graphically, it is rather average, with a wide variety of designs and coloration of the different worlds. Certainly, the imagination behind some plants and creatures is exceptional.

    SCATTERED ECHOES:
The audio component, like the graphics, is average. However, its great merit lies in creating extremely relaxing and mesmerizing situations, with fitting soundtracks for deep space.

    BUT WHY 7?

    PROS:
No Man's Sky is currently an extremely enjoyable and relaxing title to play and explore. The vastness and creativity of the game world rarely become tiresome, and the game's writing is unique and detailed, keeping the player engaged. Additionally, the main story, being very philosophical, will certainly stimulate the minds of the most imaginative players.

    CONS:
The major problem with No Man's Sky lies in the immense repetitiveness that it reaches within a few days of gameplay. Every space station, NPC, planetary base, frigate, and most dialogues will always and uniformly be the same. Moreover, the game's strong survival aspect often leads to tedious farming sequences for normal gameplay actions. All these factors make it a highly enjoyable game even today, but it certainly doesn't lack some issues dating back to its release.

    RATINGS:
    Gameplay: 6.5
    Music: 7.5
    Story: 7
    Survival: 6

It looks decent honestly and has been stable for about 99% of what I've played so far. Been to multiple planets with different visual styles and it all performed solidly. Space travel is good and stable too. Definitely satisfied so far, this port seems quite decent all things considered. The pop in is noticeable, but not egregious. If you've played AAA ports on switch it won't be anything new, so this port is definitely a good one and worth your time if you've got the money. If you want a title that offers you full freedom to develop your own adventure, No Man's Sky allows you this fact wherever you want. However, it has some technical problems that may make you not enjoy it to the fullest. However, that's the price to pay for playing a game like this anywhere you like.

No Man's Sky is just playable on the Switch. The necessary graphical downgrades are not surprising, but the lack of multiplayer is. Fortunately, no further content has been cut. No Man's Sky can therefore fulfill all your space fantasies in a lonely and unstable way.
