Another great idea from Nintendo! Just when you thought you had seen everything in gaming, Nintendo surprises regularly! A fantastic gift for kids! My son and daughter both love the piano! 10/10

Having said that, the step-by-step instructions are presented in a way so releasing your finger pauses the action. Vaguely annoying, but it’s a minor point and makes sense when thinking about it. The toy-con garage is what gives this mileage for those wanting to invest time in it, but it’s worth the activity of building the things in the box. Do it with kids, on your own, draw on them, alter stuff, take your time, enjoy this thoroughly Nintendo experience. Expand

I actually don't have any kids, but I got the variety kit anyway because I was interested. I expected the cardboard creations themselves to be well designed, and they absolutely were, as well as very fun to build. If you are into "building" things such as Legos or other crafty things such as this then you will probably enjoy putting them together as much as I did, which thankfully will take a fairly hefty amount of time to finish, about 7 to 10 hours of just building the different kits depending on your speed of building. The thing I was actually a little surprised about was the depth and abilities of the software, specifically the piano software and the garage. There are SO many things you can do with just these two parts of the software that it absolutely justifies the purchase. If you are creative enough to come up with something to make or do with them you can spend hours and hours just goofing around figuring out the software. That isn't to say that the software is without limits, but it did genuinely surprise me at how deep it went and how much you could do. The other bits of software that came in the package were nice, and generally generated enough interest to give them an hour or two of time, with the RC car being the least interesting to me personally, but each one of these toycon can be used as inputs and sometimes outputs for the garage which gives them some utility outside their own software. Really the only reason it doesn't get a 9 is that I didn't really want or need the RC cars or the house. I'm sure these would be a lot better for younger players who can't quite play the piano well or don't get the basics of coding, but for me as an adult I wish I could have bought just two or three of them without having to shell out the whole $70, because while I DO think it's worth the price, that doesn't mean I want to pay for the parts I'm not going to use as much. Too old for to new. The cardboard it is biodegrade, like a lot, very much. Great to build things and then things happen to things that weren't happening before. The things are amazing as well amazing each things. Try and do it after you'll have fantastic time but micro-transactions ate my hamster not that I've played with them since December so 0/10

A very cool & new way to think about videogames, the concept is unique on it's own & the creativity behind it it's just incredible, if you are a parents and you are looking for something entertaining for your kids, this is the best option, the games can be better, since most of them feel dry after a few gameplays, but the building part really improves it. It's great.

This might as well be called 1-2-3 switch II...or something because that's what it is: another compilation of minigames (at least the 01 version) that won't last more than 10 minutes with the enormous price of 70 bucks. At least 1-2-3 switch was 50, so what's the difference? The cardboard box of course, the most ridiculous and retarded idea I saw in my entire life...and I'll explain why.

The issue I have it's not the games themselves - I think they're trash but that's beside the point - but the fact that you're using cardboard boxes for making your tools which is beyond stupid for one simple reason: it wears out faster than a plastic tool.
You see, there is a reason why tools and accessories were made of plastic and were expensive: they were built to last and that's why they cost a lot especially if you buy the original ones. Buy a cheap knock off of a guitar hero guitar and you'll see it breaking in a few hours/days, buy a chinese knock off of a steering wheel and it'll stop functioning: I currently use a 10 buck headphone and it breaks rather quickly but that's the quality for a 10 euro headphone versus a 60 euro pro-graming one.

This is no different: sure it's cheaper and fun to create them the first time but after that, the fun factor vanishes and it loses all the sense of discovery. You know why people enjoy building lego buildings? Because it also allows freedom of creation and you can make anything if you got the right pieces. Nintendo Labo doesn't.

And even if you take care of them they WILL wear out eventually: again, this is why game accessories are made of PLASTIC and not CARDBOARD: it's like buying a switch pro controller for 10 bucks but it's made of cardboard and you have to build it yourself. It's cheaper but **** it will break very soon, it's uncomfortable and makes you wonder why you even bothered.

With that long rant about the stupid cardboard box accessories, what about the games inside? Eh, they're mediocre as usual when Nintendo needs to cash grab and why I said this looks like 1-2-3 switch, in fact, I dare say only one is a real game with some actual depth (motorbike) while the others are just applications and software that aren't anything spectacular.

The RC "car" (looks like a bug to me) is a really stupid remote control "application" with really not much into it and gets boring within seconds- feels like a smartphone stuff than Nintendo switch.

The fishing game is again nothing spectacular but I can at least call it a game, which is something. It works and it's okay, but has nothing else really going for it...so yeah it sucks.

The Tamagotchi game is...just an expensive Tamagotchi game with some features that you need to physically put instead of having them happen on screen. It's ok but not exactly worthy of 70 euros.

Motorbike is probably the best of the bunch, mostly because IT IS an actual game with some actual nice features in it and it makes a good use of the cardboard tools. I think this could've been a great game if it was given more development time.

The piano is just that, a piano application with good amounts of customization but if you don't care about it it won't last very long. It's detailed but again It's not what I'd call a game!

In other words, of 5 games included in this variety kit, only one is really worth a damn and the game demands 70 euro for them.
Do I really have to say that this isn't worth it? I guess I will: this is DEFINITELY not worth the 70 euro price. At the very least it should be 40 or MAYBE 50, but 70? You really might spend that money on better games really, this is just a waste of space - and I mean it: where will you put all of the accessories when you're done?!

For a kid, maybe this will be fun and I'm sure they'll have some fun out it and I'm also sure this "game" was made for them...which begs the question why it's 70 bucks.

At any rate, I'm giving it a 1 because while it sucks, has no real value and the cardboard accessories will break in no time - I mean kids don't break things at all! - it does work and the idea behind IS good. Too bad Nintendo is just too greedy and cares little to nothing about quality when they need a cash grab.

Just go back and bring your cheap accessories with you...

I think they made this to make their sixty dollar Wii U Ports more enticing... kids actually seem to hate it; they want to play a real game... and I can't blame them. The cardboard sets are rather expensive, so unless you lack imagination and need a game to help you play with boxes for a premium price; stay clear of this dumb idea.

What Nintendo Labo achieves is, at its core, exactly what Wii Sports achieved for the Wii in 2006. It encourages non-video gamers the chance to get involved with something their children love. It brings family to the fore, allows for natural teamwork to evolve and both nurtures and inspires creativity. And quite frankly, that’s hard to put a price on.
