Aug 12, 2023The game is good but nothing particularly special. I rate it 8/10 because it is really fun to play with friends. One player mode was, for me, pretty boring.

Jul 5, 2023Once again, Nintendo with copy-pasting, Mario Wonder will probably be the same.

Jun 16, 2023A tad overpriced, but it's still a Mario game, you know? Multiplayer is chaotic, but so much fun!

May 29, 2023A nice 2D platformer filled with nostalgia and with the marvelous multiplayer options which is a real gain here. To be clear, I played it 3 players coop all long, and that was a funny treat. In solo I'm not sure it'd be such interesting since the level design is not the greatest Nintendo work.

Feb 10, 2023It feels like this game is before our time, the levels while being pretty average has little to no innovation in original concepts. I thought the baby Yoshi's were kind of useless, I did find the addition of Toadette and Nabbit was cool though.

Jan 17, 2023I never have found the New Super Mario Bros series to be all that great. I think it is a nice game to have for when family and friends come over as it gives you a different option for multiplayer games. For that reason, it was worth the buy.

Oct 10, 2022Repetitive, unbalanced, uncreative. Still, a fun game, but not worth the price charged. If you can borrow it used or borrow from a friend it's worth it, otherwise I don't recommend it.

Jul 27, 2022The game is kinda boring. You don't feel good playing like it's possible with another games. There's nothing that makes you excited to play

Feb 15, 2022I'm a huge fan of Mario games and this game was a huge astoundment. There is something about this entry in the 30 year old franchise. There are new characters in the game. They are Nabbit and Toadette (Peachette with the Super Crown). This game is a good spin-off.

Jan 29, 2022Fun but derivative Mario game. For being the only 2D Mario on the Switch it suffices.
-
Jan 2, 2022I kinda regret getting it but it can be fun at some points. I just have one big issue. THE CONTROLS. Who thought that making the spin jump the same button as the regular jump was a good idea.

Nintendo Force MagazineAug 22, 2019This is foundational, basic, by-the-book stuff from the Big N. Nothing too outrageous. Nothing too surprising. [Issue #38 – March/April 2019, p. 67]
-
CD-ActionMar 25, 2019It might be merely a return of a game that did not advance the series, but it was – and still is – the genre’s peak achievement. Sure, I could argue that boss encounters could’ve been more polished and the game could’ve looked better since Switch is more powerful than Wii U. A new world would have been a nice touch too. But what can I do when the game’s core is so good and it is complemented by content so great that such complaints become irrelevant? [02/2019, p.54]

Game World Navigator MagazineMar 20, 2019Classic characters, familiar worlds and epic music – the game is like a portal to 8-bit past of the series. But its strength is also its weakness: New Super Mario doesn't even try to surprise you. [Issue#236, p.48]
