I always dreamt about a space exploration game and this is just what I was looking for for my Switch. Most of all there's a great atmosphere overall, the music is excellent and soothing and the story so far is pretty neat. The game does well what it proposes, so for me it's a high recommendation for anyone craving for a space odyssey.

Intergalactic, interestingly evasive. The game takes you on a path throughout ways of discovery and emancipates with the player’s curiosity. Scanning vegetation, scanning creatures enables a money system that you will experience in buying some fuel for your spaceship or amusingly upgrading of weapons and different estimations of what Sci-Fi survival constitutes. Morphite is a mix between Metroid and No Man's Sky. It's a first-person space exploration game with very clever platforming. The art style features minimalistic polygon graphics that fit the switch perfectly backed with a very pleasing 80's synth soundtrack. It's a first-person space exploration game with very clever platforming. The art style features minimalistic polygon graphics that fit the switch perfectly backed with a very pleasing 80's synth soundtrack. The story doesn't really pull you in but you can ignore it and spend countless hours exploring the procedurally generated planets of different systems in your ship when random events can occur where you can take control of your ship, like a battle or an asteroid field. But if you do choose to follow the story you will be met with clumsy voice acting, an un-engaging plot, and clunky "boss battles".

Each procedurally generated planet offers its own ecosystem full with unique flora and fauna which you can scan to get biological data which can be sold for the game's currency, chunks which along with the minerals that you naturally come by with can be used to upgrade your weapons, scanner, and different parts of your ship.

I don't know about the other platforms but on the Switch, you will encounter a fair share of glitches, bugs, and frame-rate drops.

But overall, I recommend this for people looking for a sci-fi first-person platformer or a No Man's Sky experience on the switch to pass the time while waiting for a big release.

While it has all the makings of a long-lasting space adventure, Morphite lacks any real emotion in the story it tries to tell, while lacking the denizens to populate the various planets found within. Everything feels quite empty and lifeless, made further haunting by Myrah's need to scan everything on the planet while breaking into temples to steal the rare Morphites that turn out to be…not so rare. This feels more like a concept piece for a brand new title, and it's hard to justify this as a purchase for what it offers currently. The story is bland, the procedural worlds are even blander, and the side-quests are completely broken and poorly maintained.

Morphite is a game that takes its time to get your comfortable with exploring and playing it, as long as you also take the time to slow down and appreciate what you’re given. By no means is Morphite an action packed adventure, but it is definitely an interesting and worthwhile one.

Morphite is impossible to play without thinking about No Man's Sky, but it is by no means a mere imitation. Morphite has its own ideas and despite some minor faults, executes them very well.
