Dec 3, 2017No ‘skip’ button for the repetitive animations and the ridiculously slow-moving AI. So be prepared to sit around for hours just to get through one game.
Did the developers even play this before publishing? Absolute garbage. -

Jul 21, 2018Come on UbiSoft !! How can you release this buggy game. And price of EUR 40?? Are you kidding me? Rento Fortune is million times better and cheaper!

Feb 24, 2019Abysmal. Worst Monopoly game I've ever played. How do you manage to make a Monopoly game with no option to turn auctions off? Especially when previous versions for other systems have included that option. I'd like to be able to name the AI too, since they're given stupid names.

Nov 16, 2017Except the loading issue, It crashes all the time, so far, I have more online match crashing then finished, judging from steam review, I guess Ubisoft may never fix it

Oct 31, 2017No joke: it's a five minute load for the title screen. And another five to get a game started. And another three when your game ends.
Unless they release a patch, you really should avoid this turd. -
Sep 25, 2020This game is slow. Not friendly for single player and beginner. Always close up to the token not the whole map.
If you are buying this for casual time playing, don't wast your money.
The android one is much better -
Apr 8, 2021Gameplay is attorciously slow, worst digital adaption of mobile monopoly. Better to buy a mobile phone version.
This game also has a lot of bugs in it. -

Apr 20, 2022I love Monopoly and Monopoly games. I got this one on sale some time ago and tried to pick it up again recently.
Alas, there is never anyone online (literally... never...) and that makes it a bummer for a single player consolist like myself.
As others have mentioned, I found it very heavy and it runs slow on the switch as well, which is not great. All in all, spend your money elsewhere. -

Apr 28, 2022nintendo switch monopoly is too boring but it manages to make the family come together... this last one is not at all a positive way
-
Jan 5, 2022Holy crap SOOOO sloooooowwww. It'd be orders of magnitude faster to play a real game; and that's including if you have to take the time to go to the store to buy it. The animations are painfully slow and you can't skip literally any of it. It's insane!

Apr 6, 2022How can a game released on modern hardware be this much worse than Monopoly Party, released on GameCube, PS2 and Xbox in 2002? That game trumps this one in about every way: speed of play, creative themes, rules settings, character selection... I’d give this game a negative rating if I could.

May 24, 2023My friend and I wanted to play Monopoly so we bought the Android version for $4 each. Her phone couldn't play it for some reason so we decided to spend $40!!! each for the Switch version. We can't even finish ONE GAME because it keeps crashing online! Its 2023, this game has been out for SIX YEARS now and it's still buggy and broken.

Dec 22, 2017With the load times, the cool but only once or twice modifiers and living boards that are all pretty much the same, it is probably a better idea, and a cheaper one, to just buy the physical board game, rather than invest in the electronic Switch version. Every know addition to the Switch's growing library is cool with me, but Monopoly is one you can probably take a pass on.

Dec 21, 2017Monopoly for Switch does about everything right. The game offers numerous boards and you can adjust the rules to suit every need. And you can play the game where ever you want with up to six players. The waiting time with six players is long though.

Dec 11, 2017Overall Monopoly for the Switch does the job it advertises to do, like Monopoly for many previous consoles. The difference is, with this console you can take on the go and play multiplayer without needing to carry around the board game and all its pieces. Is it perfect? Definitely not. Especially with my gripes that I mentioned earlier, but if you want Monopoly on the go the game isn’t breaking the mold but it gets the job done. The $40 retail price point is a bit questionable, but I have already seen it on sale in the past few weeks for around $20, which is where I say this game should have been priced and shouldn’t be grabbed for anything more.
