    The only people that might get something out of Mirror are those who are such big fans of the PC version of the game that they need to keep playing it on Nintendo Switch while... on the train, I guess. It's a character-driven, visual novel-heavy match-3 puzzler where terrible localisation has ruined the characters, the narrative is incomprehensible, and the match-3 action is so stock-standard it doesn't deserve to be celebrated, even if it does work. The real reason people played this on PC - the titillation, has been greatly reduced in order to be console friendly on the Nintendo Switch, and as such there is nothing of worth left in Mirror.

    Mirror on Switch is a watered down, hollow shell of what that game was.

    Mirror is a really good match-3 puzzler with RPG elements built in. You're presented with a cracked mirror with several pictures on the pieces of the mirror. Only one piece is usable, at first, and each one takes you to the story of a different character. Beating one character's story unlocks the next. There are skills, items, and stats, it's great. The main draw for most people, though, the one that keeps people from admitting they even play this masterpiece, is the fact that it has nudity. Very explicit nudity. I was really surprised to see this game ported to the Switch, even though Nintendo has stated that they won't be censoring content on the platform.

    Which brings me to my first complaint. From what I can tell, they've removed every bit of sexual content from the game. Now, I understand that a game doesn't need sexual content to be good, but it was fun, it was interesting, and they had to completely rewrite the game in order to make it work by removing some characters that needed that content to even work as stories.

    Normally I might not mind getting new characters at the expense of a couple of old ones (even if one of the old ones WAS my favorite), but it highlights another interesting problem that Mirror suffers from. Mirror is clearly written by non-English speakers, but it wasn't so bad until they released the DLC on Steam, where all of the new characters' dialogue took a serious dive in quality. The Switch version starts you in a completely different order from the Steam version, leading with one of their new characters, Ally, and it is some of the worst dialogue I have ever seen put to paper. It seems like the translation team just popped it into Google translate. I could barely follow what was happening, and I definitely wasn't invested.

    I could almost forgive the butchering of the story if there weren't any game-play issues, but don't worry. There are.

    First off, the combat itself seems to be fine. I played through all of Ally's story with no real issues. The problems started when I tried to start buying skills and items. To look at something's description, you have to tap and hold on the icon, but the game will just stop reading my finger, leading to the description flashing in and out of existence, and, if you have enough money to buy the item, purchasing something you really didn't want for almost all of your money, since it thinks you're just rapidly tapping the item. All of the item prices seemed to be raised dramatically from the Steam version too, which makes no sense. The game balance was fine as is.

    Long story short, a game that was all about matching gems and sexy ladies took out the sexy ladies, and added in heaps of sadness.

    I've played the Steam version more than I care to admit, and loved every minute of it.

    I've played the Switch version for maybe 20 minutes, and am already wishing Nintendo had a return policy.

    I really like Mirror on Steam so I figured I would like it on Switch. Nope. It is Mirror in the sense that it has the same interface and matchI really like Mirror on Steam so I figured I would like it on Switch. Nope. It is Mirror in the sense that it has the same interface and match three puzzle but that's it. There is nothing risque about this game at all. All of the quirky charm and more adult elements have been stripped from this leaving a lifeless, run of the mill visual novel. I would rate it higher if it wasn't so laggy during the match 3 games. That alone makes it almost unplayable. If you have played Mirror then avoid at all costs and continue playing on Steam. If you think this is a port of the Steam game to Switch, it is so very not. $10 I would rather have back to be honest because I feel it was misleading us into a Steam type game (even censored would be acceptable).
