Miles and Kilo is a platformer styled after games from the NES era. The art style is cute, the 8-bit music is great, and the controls are usually precise and feel good. The level design goes well with the difficulty of the game. Very few levels will take you more than a minute to beat, but because of the difficulty, even some of the shortest levels may take you a while to complete.

Despite all my praise, there are a few minor flaws with the game. First and most noticeable, the controls aren't always super precise. Usually, the controls feel really nice, but other times I felt as if a death wasn't my fault. That being said, I died about 600 times (the game tells you after the credits) and I only noticed this about three times. It definitely isn't a deal breaker, but it is there. My other quarrel with the game are the bosses, with an exception of the final boss and one of the mid-bosses, most of them are pretty easy and will only take you two or three tries. The easy bosses wouldn't be so bad if the rest of the game was easy, but the drop of difficulty is very apparent. However, only 5 out of the 36 levels are boss levels, so once again, this is more of a complaint, not a deal breaker.

Overall, I really liked Miles and Kilo. There are a few minor problems, but over all, the game is really great and I would suggest it to anyone who likes difficult platformers. And with a low price tag of $8, you can't go wrong.

Du wirst durchstrukturiert gezogen, stimmt doch alles, man bereut nichts. Gefunden und getroffen, ein echtes Schnäppchen.

This game is pretty good, far from perfect but still worthwhile. First the good parts: Its cheap, I bought this for like 1.50 on the eshop while it was on sale 2: the art stile is beautiful and it matches this retro but modern feel 3: the levels these levels aren't mind blowing or anything but some of them are pretty hard none of them compare to some of the greatest levels in mario 3 butThis game is pretty good, far from perfect but still worthwhile. I enjoyed my time with Miles & Kilo and it gave me flashbacks to playing Adventure Island as a kid. If that sounds like it could be fun to you then you definitely won't regret giving it a try.

The time you spend with Miles and Kilo is bags of fun though, with the characters bouncing humorous dialogue around that often breaks the fourth wall. Yes, it's a familiar blanket that punches, but it's one that impresses with texture, too.

Miles & Kilo is a massively improved sequel that mixes great platforming mechanics and tough but fair difficulty in the package. It’s a cheap title that you should definitely pick up if you have an hankering for fun, lighthearted platformers. Grab your canine friend and get ready for a howling good time!
