Now THIS is a remake! And such a great game for those that just want to have fun and not take it too seriously. Post game content can be a bit repetitive though...

This is my favorite game, although it’s an easier than the 3ds version this game is so fun! You can have any mii as any character is the game! You can even get ones from online. A decent story and I love the art style. Everyone should play this game :)

The game is very repetitive. The plot twist is always the same after the first time you see it. I liked the soundtrack the most.

A good entertaining game where you get to customize and create your own characters, the only flaw is after you beat the game it gets very boring with doing the same side quests over and over again.

Miitopia is a silly rpg with life-sym mechanics. This mix offers a fun experience for people of every age. The only thing that bothered me is the passiveness of the game; at least in the battles, I would have liked controlling every member of the team and not just one.

Again, I want love, but the developers just didn't make it exciting in the later game. If there was a little more action from there on, than this game would get an easy positive score, but it becomes so lifeless from there on. Hilarity and stupidity are the appeal of Miitopia, and while the game lacks a lot of general depth and leans heavily on the idea of the player making their own fun, it truly delivers in spades when played to its strengths. this is a funny light hearted RPG with a simple and addictive gameplay loop the only flaw in this game is the mild repetition and the game requiring grind BUT the game does let you beat it by simply clearing each path with the little flag so it was not terribly grindy overall i had an amazing time its definitely worth the money .

The game starts by letting you create your story, and so creates a decent mix between gameplay and random events. The game is better if your characters are diverse in personality and jobs, as the game builds of the diversity factor. Also, the horse is fun, but the game falls off during the post game, as the extra worlds are a difficult grind. Expand

Also, I loved the ending. The Dark Lord wasn't the bad guy: he was just shunned by everyone. So I decided to help him and give him a face, and that was the end. A purely heartwarming finish to the game.

Miitopia is on paper a very good rpg, original and fun. This is demonstrated with the humor of the Miis or the fairly complete options. But what marks the most here is its enormous lifespan! In addition, if the relationships are interesting to note, we clearly do not have control of the game (not control of allies, nor of conversations) which makes the game a random rpg!
But casually, the game is nice and fun because you can put those around you in the game and see the coincidences between it and real life. I recommend for arduous secondhand players.

For those who may not know, Miitopia is an RPG which puts its focus on Miis, the goofy avatars you get to create on your Nintendo console, by giving them the role of pretty much anything. From your main character to your party to the various NPCs, the game never misses an opportunity to let you choose which Miis you want to use, making for a very colorful cast with infinite possibilities.
Miitopia offers the player a very simple story to go through. Your hero and their wacky team need to defeat the big bad guy who's threatening the land, whilst travelling through whimsical settings and making some odd friends along the way. For what it's worth, it's charming and doesn't take itself too seriously, making it so any Mii you choose for your cast doesn't feel out of place. It even manages to pull a few unexpected twists at you (some of which surprised me on my very first playthrough). While embarking on your adventure, you'll be fighting off against a variety of monsters which will try to stop you on your path. Unfortunately this part can be a bit of a letdown to some.
In fact, regardless of your ability to alter your party's stats through a diverse range of snacks and equipment, you're not actually able to control your Miis in battle apart from your main hero. If anything, the outcome of the battles is mostly decided through plain RNG. Now this wouldn't be much of a problem, if it weren't for the mediocre A.I. of your partners, which more often than not leads to poor choices on their part.
As a consequence, there's not much strategizing to be done.
The battles themselves start to feel the same after a while, even though some enemies can have quirks to spice things up a bit. Other elements such as your Miis' personality and relationships can also influence the combat (for example, by helping another member). Nevertheless I often found myself skipping through them.
Upon creating a Mii for your team, you can pick between a selection of classes, each with its own role and abilities. They are somewhat balanced and you should be able to create a pretty functional team by using any combination of the jobs given.
Now I wouldn't jump the gun and say that the game is super easy overall, but it does do a ton of handholding. There are a couple of features meant to make the combat less difficult. Most of them feel somewhat useless, since you can do a lot of these things with the Miis alone.
Another thing the game is very well-known for is the funny interactions between your Miis. They are full of amusing dialogues and entertaining moments which might get a chuckle out of you.
This port didn't add much to the original, but it does offer some new content.
Firstly, it added the ability to send Miis on outings, with now more interactions to be seen, depending on the ticket given. Said events tend to get repetitive and using the tickets did feel like a chore to me more than anything. That aside, they're actually very useful when you need to raise relationships with new members.
Another feature that was added to the game is the horse character. While it leads to a number of adorable interactions between it and the Miis, it's hardly acknowledged by the story or the battles. As a matter of fact, the horse was introduced to provide aid in battle, and it's a surprisingly strong ally at that. Problem is, you don't get to decide when to use it. You have to wait until it's ready to battle before unleashing one of its powerful moves. Doing so adds another RNG element to what is already a handful of RNG elements.
But the best feature of this port is the new Mii customization.
The developers tried to solve the limitation problem of the old creator by giving the player the most creative customization to date. The makeup section let's you do whatever your mind desires. You're able to put any detail anywhere (so long as it stays in the 100 limit), so there aren't many constraints on what you can and cannot do.
This version also added wigs to put on your Miis, even though they aren't as customisable as the make up.
I've gotta say I've never had this much fun making Miis and the fact I get to use them makes it so much better.
And if you don't feel like spending much time and effort customizing the characters, then that's no problem. Thanks to its share feature, you can download any Mii that has been made available by its creator. All in all, Miitopia is a very endearing game that I would recommend to anyone who wants to do more with the Miis they made and have a fun time while doing so. If you really enjoy the overall goofiness of the game you might be able to look past the repetitive and random gameplay.
If you're looking for a hard-core RPG that requires strategy and a complex combat system or if you're not into banal and kiddy stories, then this game is probably not for

Miitopia on switch is the release of a fun 3DS game, and it has been given intense upgrades that make the rerelease worth it. The level of customization with makeup is unbelievable and you (or more accurately random people on the internet with immense skill and time) can make literally anyone as a mii. The game also introduces a horse as pretty much a fifth party member. Horse is cool, mine is named Robert and I love him. I haven't played the 3DS version so I believe those are the main changes (as well as an upscaling to HD that looks good). Now moving on to the minor complaints that I think hold the game back. To start, you can kinda tell some enemies are upscaled 3DS ones and appear a bit blocky or sharp. Another thing is that horse whispering attacks are awesome but only the player character can use them which makes the horse bonding with party members feel insignificant and seeing all the awesome horse whispering moves would require you to play every job as the main character. Only other problem I could really think of is how underused the townspeople are. Some have like maybe 5 lines of dialogue. The good parts are hard to list because the whole game is amazing. Mii making is fun, almost all the interactions are fun, the humor is good, the combat is good if not a bit simple, and the post game is phenomenal. I very much recommend it. Expand

You basically watch the game happen and don’t really play it. Decisions aren’t critical at any point. The ending is not satisfying. There is no discovery. You’re just watching the game happen. It is silly and quirky… but largely a chore to do the same repetitive tasks to build relationships with your team members.

Mii animations have the worst animations ever. Plus, the dialogue doesn't make any sense (e.g. Mii have trouble with socks though they're not wearing any socks, Mii forgeting to tie their shoelaces though they don't wear any shoelaces). It is very creepy when the Dark Lord steals their face. And this game is rated E for everyone. The game came out in 2016-2017, but why is the animation old and terrible. They wanted to make the game now. They should delete that game, and make a better version of it. It would be called Humantopia. There will be no animation errors. The dialogues will make sense. And the Dark Lord will steal souls. Expand

Miitopia is a fun first RPG for young kids, and while it can also be fun for adults, the game quickly gets repetitive and unrewarding. It would be better as a multiplayer game on Switch, or even an online outing that had more to do. It really defeats itself as a solo game. Its real appeal lies not in the RPG adventure itself, then, but in how wildly robust the new Mii-making interface is. Some people may want to pick up the game for that feature alone. Compared to the original released on 3DS in 2017, the Switch version of Miitopia looks better and offers a couple of additions, but it is pretty much the same thing.
