    A gritty dirty beat em up in a grungy city. Midnight fight express has you unlocking skills and upgrading them, you can change your appearance and clothing, see and view your progression, replay levels, and get achievements. It uses hd rumble. I liked it. Thought it was well made coming from a developer I was unfamiliar with. My complains is that it could have been totally voice acted butA gritty dirty beat em up in a grungy city. I liked it. Thought it was well made coming from a developer I was unfamiliar with. My complains is that it could have been totally voice acted but then it probably wouldn't be 19.99 and it gives you the tutorial once and throws the game mechanics at you fast, and though you can replay previous levels and there is a playground where you can hone your skills you can't replay the tutorial level. Other than that, I think it's pretty good and just as good as other beat em ups I've bought recently like teenage mutant ninja turtles and streets of rage 4. And that's saying a lot… Expand

    Midnight Fight Express is a very elegant package that is as simple or as deep as you want. For those wanting a simple brawler, the combo mechanics with weapons and environments are so satisfying. For those that want depth and technique, there’s the grading system with bonus challenges to perfect your runs. The soundtrack blasts your ears with grimy hype up beats that rocks the combat even more than it does on its own. There’s a very obvious issue with a bland story that puts a halt to the game but there’s a lot to enjoy here. Midnight Fight Express is a fantastic game that plays great, sounds fantastic, if only it would get out of its own way with the story.

    Despite the somewhat rocky difficulty curve, Midnight Fight Express is an enjoyable spin on the beat-em-up genre. It plays a bit differently from the average entry in the genre, but once you get the hang of it you can pull off some wild sequences that just plain feel good. It’s only a few hours long, but it is immensely replayable thanks to having many unlockables, options, and leaderboards to jostle with other players on. This is one express brawlers fans will want to catch.
