Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection is easily the best Legacy Collection to date while including the entire Zero and ZX series. While the Zero games may be a bit unfair due to the zoomed-in GBA view and unforgiving lives system, the new save-assist feature gives players the ability to play through these games at their own pace without feeling like they’re given too much power. Z-Chaser is lastly a good bonus game, even if it is lacking in the level department.

Overlooking the flawed storytelling, fans will find six games stuffed with content and gameplay to enjoy. In the Zero series, players are treated to the same zippy run-and-gun platforming adventures that the X series did so well. Zero can be upgraded throughout each entry, with a number of both permanent and temporary buffs to take advantage of. The Zero games are notoriously challenging, but the Casual Scenario mode and Save-Assist features do a lot to ease the difficulty for those that are interested in a reprieve. This collection is a perfect way to spend some time and it’s highly recommended to consider giving it a download!

With another great collection under its belt, we can only wonder now where Capcom goes next. [Issue #45 – March/April 2020, p. 72]

Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection is everything that you could’ve hoped it to be. This is ultimately six great Mega Man games presented to you with a slew of customizable features, extra content, and quality of life updates. If you’re a fan of either Mega Man or sidescrolling action games in general, you owe it to yourself to give this release a go and see what all the fuss is about. These are hard and occasionally frustrating games, but they offer up some rewarding, action-heavy gameplay that even today stands among the best of its class. Don’t pass this one up, it’s definitely worth the punt.

The Zero-games tell a great story in a few of the hardest and best action games of its time. The ZX games had their own issues, but their still worth your while.

This is another fantastic collection of Mega Man games, this time highlighting two series that you may have missed if you didn’t have a Game Boy Advance or DS.

Fans of the jump-and-shoot variety need to set their sights on the Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection. It is a definitive package of lesser known Mega Man games that stand on their own as satisfying and legitimate experiences.

Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection is a great title that brings the Zero games from Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS to Nintendo Switch. Its main character, its great level design and final bosses, its good story and its great soundtrack together with all the added extras make this compilation an essential title for Mega Man fans.

Megaman fans, and even action/platformer fans, shouldn’t miss this collection. Six of the best Megaman games ever made in a great compilation full of interesting extras.

Mega Man Zero / ZX Legacy Collection offers six quite challenging games with several options ranging from visual style and region, through new difficulty options, as well as a new game mode. Without a doubt, a great collection that any Mega Man fan should try.

Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection is an excellent value for the price tag. Mega Man Zero was designed for hardcore gamers, but if you can't handle the difficulty, new Save-Assist enables less skilled players to still enjoy those titles to the fullest. And Mega Man ZX, though unremarkable the first time, truly shines as something memorable with ZX Advent and its diverse gameplay options. Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection contains most of Inti Creates’ best work, and it’s another Capcom collection worth adding to your Switch library.

So long as you can deal with some antiquated visuals and a bit of exploration-based frustration with the ZX games in particular, you'll have plenty of rainy days squared away.

There is a lot of excellent game design packed into the Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection. With the added Z Chaser, save assist, and casual mode, the series is now more accessible than ever with added modes for returning fans. Any of the shortcomings of one title is made up for in the other, which makes it easy to say that that this collection is 2D action at its finest.

Another good shot for Capcom, and finally we can play the four Mega Man Zero in their best form: we have the most balanced versions ever, for at least twenty beautiful hours. A love letter to the fans and a good opportunity for the other to know a good part of videogames history. Unfortunately the greatest extra of the collection, the Z Chaser, is not good as it looks like at first and its forbidden controls remapping ruins the experience.

Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection contains four GBA games of the Zero series, and two DS games of the ZX series. All of them are playable with enhanced graphics through a couple of filters and there are nice add-ons too in the form of new modes that increase accessibility or expand longevity. Meanwhile, a huge gallery full of artworks and soundtracks will surely please all the fans of the series.

It's hard to say whether or not the collection will appeal to newcomers. The steep difficulty and overly complicated storylines are definitely a hurdle to overcome. It's hard to recommend this collection over any of the previous Mega Man Legacy Collections, but for players craving more blue bomber, Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection is worth overcoming those hurdles.

Not only is the Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection a great bundle for fans of the series, but it also makes some important small tweaks to help broaden these games' appeal. The new checkpoint system helps address the overbearing difficulty of the original releases, a very welcome change that will undoubtedly alleviate many headaches. The core gameplay remains as strong as ever, defined by responsive movement and white-knuckled boss encounters. While each entry's unique systems may not always succeed, the underlying gameplay is so strong that even the weakest outings are engaging challenges. And when everything works in concert, like in Mega Man Zero 3 and 4, the combination of slick movement, great boss fights, and rewarding unlock systems make for some of the most compelling 2D platformers in recent memory.

While I can’t give Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection a broad recommendation above the Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 and 2, I can still put in a favorable mention. Zero 3, and the two ZX games – Advent especially – are the top picks in this compilation, all with optional adjustments to better reflect modern gaming sensibilities.

It goes without saying that the Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection is a fine and robust celebration of Inti Creates’ portable take on the Mega Man universe. From a wonderfully dense art gallery featuring many of Toru Nakayama’s superb character designs to remastered voice tracks and animation cut-scenes, Japanese editions for each game, and a variety of attractive screen borders, there are tons of other adjustable options available. The only real customisable drawbacks are not being able to skip text or having the options to assign actions to the ZL and ZR Buttons. But besides that, it’s really hard to fault this latest slice of what is currently now a five-volume gaming encyclopedia based on one of Capcom’s most cherished franchises.

The games included in the Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection aren’t always perfect, but they’re still a ton of fun to take on thanks to some impressive stories, graphics and a nice level of challenge. Like the previous Legacy Collections for the Classic and X series, it’s something fans will love to rediscover or even discover for the first time and is worth picking up. It’s an odd chapter of Mega Man history, but one worth learning about again.

Mega Man Zero/ZX Collection is a convenient round-up of some historic 2D platformers that, for the most part, hold up. The original Mega Man Zero is still brutal, but difficulty options like Save Assist ease the pain. The six games are bound together by some good extras, including a sizable art gallery, a music player, and a "Z-Chaser" speedrunning challenge. If Mega Man Legacy Collection and Mega Man X Legacy Collection are already on your shelf, Mega Man Zero/ZX Collection is a no-brainer addition.

The Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy collection is great thanks to the quality of its six included games. Capcom's addition of new modes to help people play these classics at whatever difficulty they feel comfortable with is a great way for anyone to enjoy the wild sci-fi stories of these Mega Man X spin-offs without making it a walk in the park.

Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy collection reminds us that the series did not shine at its brightest trying to move from action to story-based fiction. The six different games are still okay, but their original mechanics could have been tweaked a little to match the new video game standards.

+ Remastered audio and full-resolution anime cutscenes
+ Bonus content like the e-reader cards and the Z3 and Z4 boss fights in ZX are accessible. + Massive gallery of Zero and ZX art
+ Z-Chaser mode for some extra replayability + English and Japanese versions

    Cons:
    - Typos and minor censorships are still present. Ergo, changing “die” to “retire”
    - Despite having a touchscreen, it’s not possible to touch the “bottom” screen for actions such as A-Trans in ZX Advent. The stick works, but isn’t ideal. - Filters leave a bit to be desired. I personally like the smooth one, but I would’ve liked to have more options, such as a different type of smoothing technique or a CRT filter.

Ultimately, very much worth the $30. Capcom has done a lot right here and the cons are essentially nitpicks. Highly recommend for fans of Megaman and action platformers in general.

This collection is worth the price of entry for Mega Man Zero 3 alone, and Zero 1, 2, and 4 aren't too far behind. I only have limitedThis collection is worth the price of entry for Mega Man Zero 3 alone, and Zero 1, 2, and 4 aren't too far behind. I only have limited experience with ZX and ZX Advent, so I won't touch on those in this review, but that would not affect the greatness of the first series nor the score this package deserves.

With the Zero series, Inticreates perfected the movement and combat that Mega Man X pioneered while putting a new emphasis on close quarters combat and an exponentially greater emphasis on speed.

Mega Man Zero is a solid action platformer. A few odd choices, like the almost RPG-esque but wholly pointless star system, weigh it down a bit and keep it from being as good as the games that follow.

Mega Man Z 2 adds some interesting new weapons, much better bosses, and overall provides a significantly stronger experience than the first entry, but it's clear there was greater potential here as well.

Mega Man Z 3 leaped ahead of Z 2 in nearly every way. A great new weapon, the recoil rod, gives Zero insane close range, multi-directional damage, and rounds out Zero's arsenal into an extremely varied kit, and 2 weapon slots gives you some room to experiment. One of these weapon combos is bound to click with you, and when you find that one this becomes one of if not the greatest action platformers of all time, with 11 main bosses, consistently fantastic level design, and fast, fluid, and challenging gameplay throughout.

Mega Man Zero 4 is a bit of a letdown as a finale, but mostly holds up as a solid entry somewhere between Z and Z 2 in quality. The enemy weapon stealing system is pretty fun and interesting at first, but gets stale fairly fast. Otherwise the bosses and stages are a bit too much of a rehash of the series successes, but not done as well as before. This game feels like the most by-the-numbers of the bunch, and where 2 and 3 made major improvements, 4 goes backwards while doing little of interest to make the game fresh.

This series wasn't as groundbreaking or iconic as the original Mega Man or X series, but it is all about distilling the base given to it by the X series into it's purest, hardest, and fastest form, and it is successful across the board. The series doesn't fluctuate in quality as wildly as the X series either, which is nice. There aren't any bad games to dread getting to through all four games.

I can't overstate this, Mega Man Zero 3 is a masterpiece and deserves every bit of recognition it can get, and I hope this package could mean a new entry in the series at some point.

Simply the best series of the entire franchise, it's hard, it's fun, it has the best plot and incredible mechanics
