What I appreciate the most about the Legacy Collections is that they take a renowned series, now thirty-plus years old, preserves it, freshens it, and offers such a complete experience for everyone that it’s hard not to marvel at it. The respect that Capcom and Digital Eclipse have poured into this is evident and absolutely commendable. Where I didn’t particularly care for the franchise before, I do now, and while I won’t ever put in the time to be great at these games, I’m glad I at least have a convenient, complete, and awesome one-stop place to go to play and celebrate this series on my own time.

Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 and 2 contain a great set of games. The Switch version is the definitive version of the first Legacy Collection with Legacy Collection 2 following along in its shadow. Rewind is a great feature, while armor mode is lacking any sparkle. If you're going to pick up this collection, digitally is definitely the better offer.

No matter what, Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 + 2 is a heck of a buy, with some legendary games that every gamer owes it to themselves to experience. If you’re a newbie to Mega Man, you can’t go wrong starting here, and for those who want to play the games again, this is the best way to play them.

Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 + 2 rescues the ten games of the classic Mega Man, with a good graphic adaptation to current screens and abundant extra material. A great opportunity to enjoy these great titles while we await the arrival of Mega Man 11.

It may be that all the added bells and whistles won't be enough to bring modern gamers around to the traditional Mega Man formula, but for series fans keen on diving back into the classic releases, both Mega Man Legacy Collections are an absolute treat.

If you're a fan of Mega Man or want to catch up on the series, Mega Man Legacy Collection 1+2 is your chance to do so on a portable system, making this perhaps one of its best incarnations.

At the end of the day, Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 & 2 are fine collections, even if the first one shows significantly more care and love than the second. I feel Capcom missed out on the chance to add some developer commentary or a few interviews here, but ultimately the titles are what matter, and both contain excellent ports. For those planning on revisiting Mega Man or just wanting to glimpse a bit of gaming history, it’s hard to go wrong.

The nature of the Switch makes it the best option to enjoy the Blue Bomber’s many adventures, and a fine way to prepare for the oncoming release of Mega Man 11.

The games themselves make Mega Man: Legacy Collection 1 + 2 worth owning for any Nintendo Switch player. You have all ten of the main seriesThe games themselves make Mega Man: Legacy Collection 1 + 2 worth owning for any Nintendo Switch player. You have all ten of the main series titles here, with the abhorrent Mega Man 8 as the lone stinker. Presentation and extra features are a lot better in the first collection, and some quality-of-life improvements feel missing from the second, but overall this is a great way to play some of the best run-and-gun platform games ever created.
