Jul 15, 2018This game is not worth $60.
It is unpolished and lacks a lot of features.
Unless a patch is released to fix many of the problems that users are complaining about, you should avoid this game at all costs. -
Jul 10, 2018This game is really bad, very boring "story mode", no quality of life considerations whatsoever, online is very laggy and matchmaking is no existence. Played a few games with friends immediately felt bored. Can't even have a local tournament mode with friends, with tennis rules.

Jun 25, 2018DO NOT BUY before they fix core gaming sins.
horrible adventure mode, some levels rely on pure artificial difficutly (go check the reddit, EVERYONE hates adventure mode)
online roster is broken, if 99% of players pick the same 2 characters you know you have a bad designed game.
wait to buy until they fix or this game will be death within months -
Jul 23, 2018It's a tennis game trying to be a fighting game, but winds up being neither. This is a love it or hate it game. Demo it somewhere before you buy it. You'll know right away if you're going to hate it. Either way, it's really overpriced at $60. Wait for it to go on sale.

Jun 22, 2018If you are thinking of buying this game for local multiplayer, please rethink your purchase for the following reasons:
- You cannot choose a map.
- You cannot choose the length of a match
- Forced splitscreen
I have no idea what the developers were thinking, but this is not worth $60. The most basic features imaginable in a multiplayer game are not present. -

Jul 11, 2018This game is very bad, the gameplay is boring and the adventure mode is short. The lobby system doesn't work for streamers. Its mario tennis ultra smash repainted and with a boe on it. Bad game.
-
Jul 12, 2018The game is a scam, less than 3 hours of a story mode, combined with the poor lack of content throughout Aces’ solely relying on online play is absurd. The gameplay mechanics are great, but as a $60 game this is not worth the hefty price tag. Wait until it is $20.

Jul 8, 2018The Kamek rally challenge is WAY too hard. I'm on like my 70th attempt. What were they thinking. Glad I didn't pay for this game. Artificial difficulty to mask the lack of content.

Jul 11, 2018Its almost like they made it bad on purpose, tourneys are just bjr. Bad job

Jun 26, 2018Dissapointing. The only word that can discribe it. Adventure mode is terrible, boring, plain and has random difficulty spikes. Crap and very little varitey in music and courts, pretty much Wii u title reskinned with some new stuff sprinkled here and there. Missing quite a few staple Mario tennis game modes. Would avoid completely until this is sorted or till the next game.
-
Jun 22, 2018Another poor effort from Nintendo where they expect full price for a port slapped with a few things that should have been in the Wii U Tennis. It kinda seems like another copy and paste year from Nintendo with balancing and lots of money out of your pocket for not buying a Wii U originally.
-
Jun 26, 2018How is there no restart button? Between that and the annoying "okie dokie" in the menu...this game appears untested.

Jun 22, 2018single player mode is a joke.
an other maimed game like arms or splatoon sold at full price.
stay away if you wanna play this for SP -
Jul 25, 2018Definitely not worth the money, extremely disappointed. Adventure mode sucks. The AI is not well balanced at all. Expert is way too easy, Pro mode is way too hard. The settings for free play are very limited. If it had cost less money I would let it slide, but for 60 dollars? You're getting ripped off.

Sep 9, 2018I found the game is simply bad. Very bad control and boring story and very repetitive game play. just do not buy it.

Oct 28, 2019Mario Tennis Aces may well feature the best mechanics the series has seen to date, its new Zone manoeuvres and Trick Shots adding an exciting, madcap layer of depth to the sport. While Adventure isn’t the big single player hook I’d have hoped and some options feel a little too stripped down, it’s the game’s multiplayer that will keep this title a firm favourite for months to come. Golf next please Camelot.

LEVEL (Czech Republic)Dec 31, 2018Brisk pace, easy control, good gameplay, lots of ideas and game modes. This is the new Mario Tennis Aces which is a wise purchase for your Switch. [Issue#288]

CD-ActionSep 27, 2018I’m pleased that we finally got a new full-fledged game by Camelot. What’s more, it will appeal to a whole lot of different people ranging from hardcore fighting games fans to your grandma and grandpa, though the difficulty level can be painful at times. The most important thing is that Waluigi begins his special move with a rose between his teeth, which puts Mario Tennis Aces dangerously close to the GOTY territory. [08/2018, p.64]
