Mario Party Superstars is essentially what I truly hoped The Top 100 could have been and a game I never thought they'd actually make; bringing back not only 100 mini-games from the series history, but also returning to the series true roots and bringing back five boards from the N64 titles. As a series fan since the very beginning, Superstars is a true homage to what made the series greatMario Party Superstars is essentially what I truly hoped The Top 100 could have been and a game I never thought they'd actually make; bringing back not only 100 mini-games from the series history, but also returning to the series true roots and bringing back five boards from the N64 titles. As a series fan since the very beginning, Superstars is a true homage to what made the series great while also including quality of life changes that the more modern Super Mario Party introduced. The mini-game line up is, for the most part, phenomenal and the board selections were just as good, even if I would've rather seen a few others.

There are a few nitpicks about this game, however, ones that I can deal with, but they are still details that could've made this game even better than it already is. I think the personal big thing for me is the somewhat imbalance of mini-game representation. I know it's clear that the N64 titles were the spotlight titles, but the rest of the series seems to take a back seat to them. Only Mario Party 6 managed to equal itself to an N64 title, but Mario Party 3 has literally double the amount of mini-games that both 1 and 6 have. And to address the MASSIVE elephant in the room, Mario Party 8 has only two mini-games in the entire roster. To say the least, the Wii/Wii U era was severely underrepresented. On top of the imbalanced mini-game representation, it's disappointing to see there isn't any sort of unlockable board or characters, something even Super Mario Party had. Beyond that, with the heavy focus on every mode having online, it leaves a lack of any sort of single player campaign. I'm not necessarily asking for a full story mode like in Mario Parties 3 or 4, but something as small as another Mini-Game Island would've been heavily appreciated, especially since The Top 100 did that so well.

Overall, I think Mario Party Superstars is the best title in the series in a long time. While I still praise Super Mario Party and place it up there with the greats, Superstars manages to top it easily. After the strange directions 9, 10, Island Tour and Star Rush took, Super Mario Party was a breath of fresh air, but Superstars is the true party I've been dreaming of. I really hope Nd Cube continues on this path for future installments.

I hate to seem biased by rating so many Ninty titles a 9 or 10....but jeez!!! They are doing so well! This is THE best Mario Party game ever released. No more motion controls (which makes this way more skill based), the boards require actual strategy, the dice has been returned to normal (all characters get a 1-10), oh and the graphics are gorgeous. Everything has a true HD shine to it, character models along with level textures are high quality and the game has a certain polish. Even the most lame mini games are enjoyable due to how well the controls have been implemented. Speaking of mini games, I think the selection is truly worth the title, "Superstars". Do yourself a favor and pick this one up, you will see what I mean once you play it. : ) Expand

This is how you do Mario Party. This is fantastic and the new gold standard for Online Latency. I had absolutely zero slow down in all of my online gameplay. I was really shocked to see just how much content is in this game including challenges and unlockables that will ensure you get atleast 100 hours of playtime. Well worth the money with fantastic board selection as well as QOL features. Bravo.

Excelente retorno desses mini games das antigas, com gráficos atualizados. A diversão é a mesma dos anos 90, e pela primeira vez oficial pela Nintendo o jogo está em PTbr, atraindo ainda mais o público Brasileiro.

Brilliance. Mario Party Superstars is what the other modern Mario Parties fail to do. Online is smooth, and that's really saying something. The boards are a hit of nostalgia and so are the minigames. just brilliant. Must buy.

A combination of everything great from the previous Mario Partys. Couldnt ask for anything more. After the many struggles the series has been through recently this is a breath of fresh yet familiar air that I never want to lose again. Hopefully future installments keep the simple formula that we all grew to love.

Nintendo’s actions have followed in congruence with their promise to Mario Party fans. This is the best N64 remaster available to play on Switch, only next to Mario 3D All-Stars. Being able to adjust the speed of the CPU actions and dialogue is such a nice touch. A polished trip down memory lane, and we can finally play standard party mode online directly from launch!

After the disappointment of Super Mario Party, this is exactly what I needed. Mini-games are great and varied, graphics are beautiful, and the boards are fun. I love how landing in an Item or another player's spot will trigger a mini-game. Having a 20 coin cost star again really helps to balance the competition.

I have really nothing bad to say about the game. I would love to have DLC

If you love to play Mario Party with friends this is a no-brainer, even if you have not played one before this is the best one you can get, you got all the best things about the previous games with the advantages of the switch. Even if you don't have a group to play with, you can start a new game Online! Try it out, you won't be disappointed.

After essentially feeling scammed by Super Mario Party, I was wary about going into this one. But this is easily one of the top 5 Switch games and has everything I wanted and expected from Super, and it just oozes soul.

Complete online functionality, meaning you can play the actual boards online with friends or strangers, and is hands down the best online of any Nintendo game to date.

Complete online functionality, meaning you can play the actual boards online with friends or strangers, and is hands down the best online of any Nintendo game to date. Most of the time it's been seamless gameplay with no lag or stuttering, almost like I'm just playing on the couch with friends. I've disconnected once, but was able to rejoin again (CPU plays your character in the meantime), however I've read the host disconnecting could mean you can't continue.

Maybe it's not a good idea to praise a game too much on its nostalgia factor and to wear those "rose-tinted glasses," but it needs to be said that Mario Party Superstars really captures the essence of playing those classic games as a kid. Same old Mario Party games with a fresh coat of paint, the graphics are great.

My only want right now is a way to open an online lobby for randoms. It is easy enough to start a room and post the room ID in an online forum to get more players together, but there should really be an online lobby list similar to Mario Golf: Super Rush. If you only have one friend who wants to play, there's no way to fill the other two spots with randoms unless they have your room ID.

Anyway, love the game, and it's shocking that it seems to be flying under the radar a little, maybe because it's poorly titled. Super Mario Party and Mario Party Superstars are similar names, but Superstars is the best Mario Party we've had in at least a decade.

As a total package, Mario Party Superstars is indeed pretty super. But is it more super than Super Mario Party? That's the real question, now that the Switch is hosting two distinctly different Mario soirées. [Issue #57 – January/February 2022, p. 71]

A great party game that threw away the chains of unnecessary and counterproductive innovations from the previous episode. It relies on proven content from several previous Mario Party games, which works almost flawlessly in the new jacket. Maybe it would need more content, especially plating boards.

Mario Party Superstars is basically a celebration of the Mario Party franchise. But technical issues still haunt the online multiplayer, besides the lack of attention regarding minor details, which ends up hindering the fun factor.
