This game is just okay. It kind of feels like playing an unfinished game or one that should be free on your phone. Controls are weird and if you look a rock wrong you're going to crash. A little glitchy but pretty smooth throughout. Kind of pointless overall. Save your money.

I found this game to be good for a few courses. Over time, however, the sheer amount of falls and the game’s over-sensitivity to triggering a fall when you graze a rock or tree, or sometimes seemingly randomly due to janky physics, revealed the game design to be “anti fun”. This, combined with the unreasonable ramping up of the demands to progress to the next course, made it an overall frustrating experience. If you could progress to the next course by finishing - because the game is not a racing game, so you don’t have to beat anyone - then maybe it would be more accessible to the average player. But it’s a rage-inducing game, and this is down to design choices - placement of hazards, sensitivity of collision detection, and demands of courses. More difficulty and accessibility options could have ameliorated this. Expand

You can tap a tree whilst barely moving and still crash and die. Incomprehensible physics and tedious, slow gameplay. Just horrible.

Amazing mechanic, Switch port is a disaster, this is a skill based game, you have to be very precise, but inconsistent framerate kill the gameplay.

Love this game on the XBOX, so I thought I'd grab it to play it on-the-go on the Switch. Wish I didn't!

Playing this in docked mode is OK, but in handheld mode it's a disgrace! Game performance in handheld mode is so sluggish it's unacceptable. I've rarely seen a more janky game. Thunderful/Megagon should be ashamed to release a game in this state. Haven't they heard about quality

Oh, and the game is prone to crashes too, showing a black screen saying "The software closed because an error occured."

Lonely Mountains: Downhill is a superb example of a simple idea executed to absolute perfection.

When Lonely Mountains: Downhill works, it works pretty well. It’s far from perfect, but if you want a game that captures the zen of cycling, it mostly does a decent job of that.

Lonely Mountains: Downhill has so much going for it that you can’t help but love it. Vibrant, varied, and victorious. It’s an outstanding example of indie development and a delight from start to finish – performance issues aside.
