I found this game to be strangely captivating and I finished it in one sitting. I enjoyed it, but the price is high and the replay value is not great.

The ending felt lazy, vague, and disappointing. It seemed like it was going somewhere special, and then the makers ran out of ideas.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Not much to it at all, but it did get strangely addictive. There is technically a game here, you just have to burn a bunch of things to see it. After beating the game and walking around as the main character when his house explodes, there's not much to do afterwords. The game completely changes at that point, but there's not much to it. Overall, it's ok. Expand

Little Inferno is a super quirky game, that really shows the uniqueness of what Tomorrow Corporation can do. The game is short, and can be completed in one sitting (probably 2-5 hours) and isn't all that challenging, as the entire premise of the game is to find different combinations of items, and burn them in a fireplace together based on a simple phrase. Once you have completed that, and had some odd interactions from people outside your home, you find out a little more of the story, and type of society you live in, and it adds a level of creepy, and quirky that makes the ride a fun one. I will say though, the game is one you will probably only play through once, and at $9.99 I think it is worth it, but if you are someone who has limited funds and bases value solely on length of play, then this won't be the game for you. If you are into simple puzzle games, and unique stories in the indie space then make sure to give this one a shot, but I wouldn't set my expectations too high, otherwise you may be disappointed. It's charming, and definitely an experience. It features explosive gameplay of sorts, but not what you'd expect. Little Inferno isn't for everyone, but for those looking for something different - and who just want to waste a little time, or watch the world burn (figuratively speaking) - you could certainly find something to enjoy.

Seeing how things are burned is cool and Little Inferno allows us to burn many objects without causing damage in the real life. But the surprise and the fun go away as fast as the flames and only the ashes remain. Because this game does not contribute anything more.

It is difficult to recommend Little Inferno to those who already played it on Wii U, beyond supporting Tomorrow Corporation and independent developers on the Switch. For those who have yet to own their very own Little Inferno Entertainment Fireplace, Little Inferno offers plenty of intriguing social commentary and a good dose of humour – that is if you don’t mind regularly being the butt of the joke.
