Overall, this game is hilariously entertaining. Friends who joined me could not stop raving about how much they loved its cuteness and appeal, and this game had us in absolute hysterics. One moment we were shouting at the person who timed their switch to the front poorly and left the rest of us for dead, and the next we were cracking up and apologizing for making that same mistake. The fact that the game required extreme amounts of concentration and coordination left us all in agreement about this: you simply cannot play this game while drinking.

It’s surprising how completing a level doesn’t just result in relief to the point where we’d never revisit that level again out of frustration, but rather newfound confidence that we could take it on again.

Although its adorable and colourful visuals may make you assume otherwise, Joggernauts is a super-tough co-op platformer that rewards fast-thinking and communication. If that sounds like your cup of tea then jog over to the eShop and give it a try.

Joggernauts presents a smiling face to the world, bouncing happily in place and waiting for someone to love it. But before long, it rips its mask off and reveals that it is, in fact, a ludicrously difficult game. It all starts with Ooh and Ahh and Oh, that’s cute, but later there’s running and screaming. Groups of friends that love games will have a riot savaging each other over their performance. With a fun and accessible veneer, Joggernauts is ready to break the world.

Joggernauts can be viewed a couple of different ways, with its best side being the party multiplayer. It’s deliriously silly in a way that matches Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime in tone and style. This is built for four friends messing around and trolling each other trying to progress through difficult platforming challenges together. It falters a little bit in longevity and as a solo experience, but those elements are more secondary to the raucous fun in multiplayer.

Joggernauts is an extremely challenging and at the same time, accessible work which will prove to be immediately absorbing for any players - with emphasis on the plural - who grab a Joy-Con and jump into it. Recommended to all who are looking for a fun effort with a different but nevertheless welcoming gameplay.

Like any local co-op game, Joggernauts lives and dies by the team of miscreants you bring with you. I found this tale of tragedy turned out to be a riot.

The game isn’t for everyone but definitely has its audience. If you’re looking for a fast-paced auto-running platformer to play with friends, Joggernauts is probably up your alley. Just don’t go in expecting more than a fun, little title to keep yourself entertained with for just a little while.

Joggernauts is a surprisingly fun take on the auto-scroller but a fairly short one filled with its fair share of frustrating moments. As a single player experience it feels clumsy but gather a group of friends and there’s a good amount of amusement to be had even if most of the time it’s from everyone yelling at each other and trying to orchestrate themselves. A short, simple and laugh-filled time.

Joggernauts is a colourful adventure which will require a great deal of patience at times, but stick with it and you'll find a fun and accessible experience which you can enjoy with a group of friends. An ideal party game!

With some perseverance and dozens upon dozens of retries, you’ll get the level down eventually, but you have to be determined and willing to go through hell. For a party game, I’m just not sure that many people will be.

While the presentation is charming and amazing, Joggernauts ultimately fails as a casual party game. With its unfair death mechanics and steep difficulty curve, it’s one that will appeal to groups that want a challenge, less so for ones that want to have a fun time.

Joggernauts is a stirred mess throughout, and while most of its current issues could be resolved through patches, updates, and perhaps a new platform of choice, it’s current Switch version is simply not there yet.
