While Induction has elements that are pretty commonly found in its brethren that include box pushing and controlling multiple “characters” to get through problems its visual style and the specifics of how it feels does at least manage to set it apart a bit. That said, I didn’t find that it did a great job of conveying concepts it wants you to apply as you take on new challenges, and this would lead to some stages where you’re somewhat pointlessly experimenting to stumble into whatever technique or simply needing to showing a fair amount of patience in order to get through. It’s challenging, and it can feel pretty distinctive in places, but I’m not sure the more casual set will find it as accessible as you’d normally find. If you don’t mind stepping up to the plate and working things out a bit though, you may find it to your liking.

Induction encourages players to consider cause and effect in each of its carefully crafted, time-bending puzzles. Though some mechanics could have used some explanation, it’s certainly no puzzle that fans of the genre should give this game a go.

Despite its hair-pulling moments, Induction really is a stellar example of taking a simple concept, building upon it incrementally through each level, and pumping your fist in the air or jumping for joy with each tall hurdle you’re able to leap over. Coupled with that minimalist style, you’ll find that the juice is worth the squeeze. If you are a fan of puzzle games and have patience, Induction has plenty to offer.

Induction is a simple yet clever puzzle title with a unique concept. Don’t let the relaxing music and pastel tones fool you; this is one tough game! Replayability is minimal, but there are some real brain teasers in here for those ready to accept the challenge.
