It’s fun to look at and more fun to play — especially with gyro controls. If you’ve been seeking a new FPS adventure on Switch, give Hypercharge Unboxed a shot.

Even though there are plenty of online multiplayer games out there, Hypercharge Unboxed is a solid enough offering to be worth playing. The fact that you play as toys is something that the whole family can enjoy, too.

Hypercharge: Unboxed is a fun and unique addition to the small library of shooters already on the Nintendo Switch. Digital Cybercherries’ debut title on the platform offers fun and addictive wave-based shooter gameplay for all ages. With the game’s cute art style and smooth performance, it is hard to go wrong with picking up a content-filled game like this.

Hypercharge: Unboxed is an engaging and challenging FPS mixed with Tower Defense, with richly-detailed stages, an awesome soundtrack, perfect sound effects and a gameplay that's easy to learn and complex to master. The game lacks in some aspects but the overall experience is extremely satisfactory and fun, and with the scheduled updates, the game tends to become even better.

HYPERCHARGE: Unboxed is a fun first-person shooter to enjoy in company, where its artistic style attracts at first sight. However, its content and the lack of incentives for a single player means that its good ideas don't keep us playing for many hours.

Hypercharge Unboxed is by no means whatsoever a bad game. Actually, it is one I look forward to revisiting as time goes on. It is extremely promising, but it isn’t quite there yet. If you have a group of friends you can reliably play with and you’re willing to trudge through the rough spots, there is certainly plenty of content to enjoy here. It also happens to somehow be one of the most visually impressive games I’ve played on Switch.

If you have three friends who love tower defense, or you're desperate for an FPS to play on the go, then you could do worse than Hypercharge: Unboxed. It's just not the shiniest toy in the toybox.

I don't usually get very into wave based or tower defense stuff but the fast fps gameplay and parkour exploration in-between rounds made this one an exception. They've also slowly been adding free updates that consistently make it a better game for a great price. I played it on switch and performance is pretty good there considering the hardware. Better than a lot of ports I've played on switch actually. Expand

It’s beautifully done visually, has the legs for staying, and has incredible gameplay. I mean, every detail just oozes with details and every time I play it feels fun and fresh with strategies. To add, this is honestly the closest to Splatoon 1/2 I’ve see a game get using gyro aim (which is optional). They also nailed down split screen co-op (runs smooth) and the online is actually really solid! It keeps me coming back for more...I’ve stopped playing Rocket League completely. Seriously, just get it. I’m absolutely blown away AND there is more promised from the dev - so they are looking to improve on an already brilliantly fun game. Expand
