Aug 20, 2025Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact is a compact game with little content, but with very competent and well executed fighting mechanics.

Jul 24, 2025Hunter x Hunter: Nen Impact is, at its core, a phenomenal fighting game. The fighting system is near-perfect, and easily stands beside the best triple-A modern fighters. Other than that, the game is a low-budget affair. Hunter x Hunter fans are guaranteed to be disappointed by the sparse roster and awful Story Mode. But there are more characters on the way, and because the core game is so strong, Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact could become one of the best fighting games of this generation. Hopefully, future updates will provide plenty more content, and maybe eventually bring the Story Mode Hunter x Hunter fans deserve.

Aug 28, 2025If you’re someone who wants more of the fighting aspect of this game rather than focusing on the fact that it’s Hunter x Hunter, I can see why it’s not as enjoyable. Fights are simple at their core, despite there being different attacks you can do. Story Mode had a lot of story. And while it was skippable, I’d often skip it just for a quick fight, before entering another long story-filled chapter. That being said, if you do love the Hunter x Hunter world, this game is a must-play for fans.

Jul 28, 2025Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact has several good ideas, but very little follow through in catering to diehard fighting game players, new players unfamiliar with the tag-fighter subgenre, or even folks unfamiliar with the franchise. It’s fun yet fluid fighter, don’t get me wrong; only time will tell if it reaches a more fulfilling state in the future.

Sep 9, 2025Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact tries to stake its claim in the fighting game genre with an accessible system and a visual style that no one expected for this anime. However, its limited roster, brief story mode, and simplified mechanics that sacrifice depth undermine a memorable experience for both anime fans and more demanding players. Despite solid technical performance, its high price and lack of ambition in content put it at a disadvantage compared to much more complete offerings on the market.
