Heroes of Hammerwatch is the definitive edition of an already fantastic game. It’s a killer rogue-lite, a great twin-stick shooter, and it comes packed with additional content for a very modest price point. There’s just no reason not to own this.

Aside from the fact that you could legitimately play it forever, it also happens to have a plethora of ways to incentivise you to play as every single character, complete every dungeon, and keep playing in NG+ 200 if you can stick with it that long. If you like roguelikes, you need to play this, and you need to play it now.

Frenzied gameplay, significant improvements to the original game, character development and improvement, plus a great OST. A cooperative roguelike perfect to play with friends or even alone. If you liked the original Hammerwatch, you can't miss this title on Nintendo Switch.

I've sunk dozens of hours into Heroes of Hammerwatch and eagerly await the chance to spend dozens more. With numerous layers of progression systems, multiple distinct classes and more content than seems reasonable for its low price tag, Heroes of Hammerwatch is a must-play for roguelike fanatics or people after their dungeon-crawling fix.

An enjoyable little rogue-lite with a mountain's worth of replayability, Heroes of Hammerwatch is the perfect game for killing a little time either alone or with friends.

One of the most addictive rogue-lites on the Nintendo Switch, Heroes of Hammerwatch blends classic action RPG progression with a hostile world design that'll have heroes second guessing every turn they make, and whether or not their next foe will be their last. Procedurally generated level design can never match up to thoughtful handcrafted stages, but HoH is able to cut the difference thanks to its easy to pick up gameplay loop, and an understanding that even the smallest bit of progress is meaningful. Between experimenting with classes, upgrading your town, and dungeon-eering with a trusted group of friends, Heroes of Hammerwatch is a must-play.

Heroes of Hammerwatch is rewarding, fun and the gameplay loop is very intelligently designed. Every time you return from a run through the dungeons, unless it was a complete disaster, you will be able to progress your town in one direction or another. I just wish some of the game was a bit easier to see on the Nintendo Switch's small screen.

Heroes of Hammerwatch is a great culmination of everything developer Crackshell started with Hammerwatch. It contains 3 additional DLCs to sink your teeth into, along with a New Game+ mode if you’ve exhausted everything else from the experience (you can effectively keep playing indefinitely, if you wish). It’s best played with friends if you’re able, but however you choose to engage with Heroes of Hammerwatch, it proves to be a fine addition to the rogue-lite catalogue on Switch.

No couch coop?! Jeez! Great game though, like a modern ‘Gauntlet’. Please add local coop ok? Then my rate will go up.
