    If you're into repetitive killing of repetitive mobs - this game is for you. It's about killing tons and tons of mobs, and you have like 3 or 5 lives after loosing which you have to start the whole game from beginning. Just save your money and spend them on something else

    I would argue that Hammerwatch is best experienced with a group of like-minded adventurers. There’s far more fun to be found in the chaotic mayhem of heroically charging down a corridor together, slinging spells at your enemies, cutting them down to size and knocking back an arrow or two, compared to when having to endure the game’s repetitive design alone. There are enough successes to consider a purchase, and even more so once online support arrives.

    Hammerwatch is set to strike a chord with fans of retro-style adventure games that feature plenty of action and a solid multiplayer experience. While its solo mode may not be the zenith of the experience, the local multiplayer mode has plenty to entertain its players and the game's overall fluidity and competent visuals add up to an experience that will find its place with many players.

    With online still to come, there's a bit more that Hammerwatch has to offer in the future. But I just couldn't take enough charm or personality from the game to make it stand out, especially when that eShop to-play list just keeps on growing...
