This game either constantly crashes or loses connection to the internet long enough to force you back to the title screen (No it is not my internet since other devices remain connected to the internet)

The Story content is incomplete making unlocking being able to level up your characters higher than 60 unobtainable since the story chapters are missing (World 7 complete, but World 8 nowhere to be found.). Also, the pre-registration items from the mobile version are in this game with no way to obtain them, so 100% completion is impossible. When you get far enough into the story for the town management like section, it doesn't really explain what bonuses affect what in the game.

There is also paid currency and ads that constantly kept popping up on me.

The events are either impossible to grind for. There are daily quests like "Compete in the arena", but when you go to the arena, it is closed and cannot complete.

The game also requires internet connection at all times, so it defeats one of the purposes of the Switch for portability.

Also, ads claim this game is base on Link to the Past style games, this is mostly false. It is a mission based system that you pay "Stamina" and "Star Pieces" to unlock missions and it takes you into the levels. Enemies are also constantly higher level than you. With your characters locked out of leveling up passed certain points, there is a constantly spending of the free gems that increase substantially after each death in a level. Hit boxed need to be fixed also. There were constant times I was hit from an attack that I was not near. Also bosses are known to have an attack they constantly do that you cannot dodge out of the way, that is if the dodge even works. There's no blocking and there are constant missions that force you to use certain weapons like ranged only weapons or melee only weapons because enemies have complete immunity to specific types of attacks.

If you want to save yourself hours of head aches, skip this game.

This is from playing the game for over a year and the developer is one of the biggest gameplay cut corners developers I've encountered while playing gacha games, which is quite sad. Let the videos speak for themselves, there is also a pretty big criticism post as well that you'll all encounter when it becomes an issue when the "difficulty" comes into play later, though you can still see the issues as of now, you just don't take enough damage as the starting stages are extremely easy.

This game isn't really a 0 per say, but if you ever look around, the community is very cultish, they basically say the product has zero flaws, treats the devs like a god despite their massive flaws, abuse and neglect they'll send your way when you point out issues. It's a game that has potential but is held back by a lazy, greedy, inept developer. Anyone telling you this game is in the upper ratings is absolutely full of crap,

The post in criticism is probably missing things I simply forgot or aren't as big of an issue, though they probably still aren't even nitpicks, more that they just don't compare to botched hitboxes or literally unfinished programming.

The most important thing to know about Guardian Tales is that you’ll only get out what you put into it. If you only want to work through the main story, you can just ignore all the other options and play through. But on the other hand, those looking for a deep and engaging experience will also feel right at home with this game. There is a ton of content here, which may intimidate some gamers at first, but don’t let that dissuade you – Guardian Tales is a thoroughly enjoyable time.

When playing Guardian Tales, one can't help but wonder if a cute Link To The Past-style single-player game without all the gacha incentives would've been better, especially now that the title is on Switch. Still, personal preferences aside, Guardian Tales is a lot of fun. The gameplay, art style, and quirky characters are all highlights.
