May 3, 2021Aesthetically it is beautiful, but playable it is very mediocre, its impossible to die, and the difficulty is so flat that it is only about moving forward on a series of beautiful wallpapers.

May 16, 2019I made an account just to rate this game and leave a review. Gris is an actual work of art. More than once, I found myself thinking what a privilege it was just to be able to play the game. It isn't an incredibly complicated, involved game, but it is an incredibly beautiful and emotional one. I wish there were more games like this.

Oct 7, 2021Jaw-droppingly beautiful platformer. Anyone who questions whether games can be art needs to experience this. It's emotionally evocative in a way that few games are -- and no less fun. The gameplay is simple yet engaging, filled with gentle surprises every step of the way. The music is as gorgeous as the animation. Love, love, love!

Dec 14, 2019This game is incredible. The art, the music, the emotion. Its phenomenal. The gameplay is that of a platform puzzle game. The whole journey is amazing. To get through the story is fairly quick, but there are a few collectibles along the way and a sort of in game achievement system to give you a little more to do. If you like art and music this is a must own.

Jan 6, 2019Fantastic game! The visuals are astounding. The music is subtle, but perfect for the game. The platforming is good and the puzzles are relatively easy. What you get this game for is the artwork and the unspoken but meaningful story. The only reason it is not a 10 is because the game is short. But length aside, this is a must have game it you appreciate art style in a game.

Jan 10, 2019A watercolor piece of art! Obviously inspired by the game Journey, it's an amazing game that tells a simple 'strugle' story about the protagonist all this wrapped by a world without colors and your 'mission' is bring them back.

Dec 18, 2018GRID is the best game I've played lately! A wonderful plot, a graphic that rests on a watercolor, an amazing atmosphere and a hidden meaning of which one must think about.

Dec 14, 2018I bought this game yesterday and been playing since then. Amazing game where you can chill out and go through chilling story , i do not know the ending yet. What I have seen so far is what makes me to play even more.

Jan 6, 2019This game is literally the most beautiful piece of art I've ever experienced, I just beat it and highly recommend it. Its a very emotional and intense experience, and actually fun and relaxing too, and the music sounds like something from a Thom Yorke solo album. Kind of relaxing platformer/puzzler/walk through an art museum, pick this game up if you are a fan of beauty and wonder.

Dec 16, 2018This game is the very definition of a true hidden gem. It's a beautiful mastapiece. The art design, soundtrack, and story all flow together in harmony like a cool stream on a warm spring day. It has such a relaxing and interesting atmosphere that i didn't expect when i purchased this. Tell all your friends to play this game because it's truly worth it.

Dec 17, 2018GRIS is an incredible journey surrounded by astonishing landscapes, whith a suberb music and a smooth gameplay.
The detail in every little thing shows that they have made it with love to what they were doing. It is almost impossible to finish it without droping a tear. Congratulations to all the team! -

Aug 26, 2022this is a very cheap game with a big lack of content. you can do so many boring things
-
Jan 7, 2019It's not even a game, it's more like an interactive screensaver. I don't think it is so amazing beautiful as people use to say, I think it's just O.K.. However, you can get some fun...

Aug 22, 2019"Not great, not terrible"
-Mediocre level design and puzzles
-Excelent art and music.
If you look for challenge or meaningful experience look elsewhere. It is not bad, it is just mediocre as a game and acceptable as a mean to spend some time. -

Nintendo Force MagazineAug 28, 2019An absolutely gorgeous work of art that everyone should experience at some point. [Issue #39 – May/June 2019, p. 23]

CD-ActionMar 25, 2019Almost universal admiration for Gris says a lot about the condition of video games industry. It’s just a 2D platformer devoid of any challenge, and instead of evoking true feeling it makes a good first impression (“wow, it’s beautiful!”) and then just glides for a couple of hours using that momentum. It doesn’t actually have anything important to say, it’s just pretty. [02/2019, p.56]

Jan 14, 2019While the story is loose and can leave players feeling a little lost, there are emotional cues that symbolize this as a journey of loss and healing. The excellent soundtrack, level design and commitment to themes make Gris a memorable title for all. With fun, adventurous platforming and puzzles that are both challenging and intuitive, its playstyle keeps things simple by placing player cognition at the forefront. Gris is a true work of indie art that prides itself on attention to details. Fans of works of art and video games will find a relatable home in Gris. Although this is Nomada Studio's first title, it has hit every possible note out of the park.
