May 3, 2021Aesthetically it is beautiful, but playable it is very mediocre, its impossible to die, and the difficulty is so flat that it is only about moving forward on a series of beautiful wallpapers.

May 16, 2019I made an account just to rate this game and leave a review. Gris is an actual work of art. More than once, I found myself thinking what a privilege it was just to be able to play the game. It isn't an incredibly complicated, involved game, but it is an incredibly beautiful and emotional one. I wish there were more games like this.

Oct 7, 2021Jaw-droppingly beautiful platformer. Anyone who questions whether games can be art needs to experience this. It's emotionally evocative in a way that few games are -- and no less fun. The gameplay is simple yet engaging, filled with gentle surprises every step of the way. The music is as gorgeous as the animation. Love, love, love!
-
Dec 14, 2019This game is incredible. The art, the music, the emotion. Its phenomenal. The gameplay is that of a platform puzzle game. The whole journey is amazing. To get through the story is fairly quick, but there are a few collectibles along the way and a sort of in game achievement system to give you a little more to do. If you like art and music this is a must own.

Jan 6, 2019Fantastic game! The visuals are astounding. The music is subtle, but perfect for the game. The platforming is good and the puzzles are relatively easy. What you get this game for is the artwork and the unspoken but meaningful story. The only reason it is not a 10 is because the game is short. But length aside, this is a must have game it you appreciate art style in a game.
-
Jan 10, 2019A watercolor piece of art! Obviously inspired by the game Journey, it's an amazing game that tells a simple 'strugle' story about the protagonist all this wrapped by a world without colors and your 'mission' is bring them back.

Jan 2, 2019What a great games, this is a must buy for your nintendo switch, i haven´t play a game that great as journey til i played Gris. Those colors, shapes, music, drama, everything is perfect... thank you for this masterpiece.
-
Dec 13, 2018Audiovisual masterpiece. Style is unbelievably gorgeous. Music is too good for this world. We do not deserve this game. 11/10
-
Dec 18, 2018GRID is the best game I've played lately! A wonderful plot, a graphic that rests on a watercolor, an amazing atmosphere and a hidden meaning of which one must think about.
-
Dec 14, 2018I bought this game yesterday and been playing since then. Amazing game where you can chill out and go through chilling story , i do not know the ending yet. What I have seen so far is what makes me to play even more.
-
Jan 6, 2019This game is literally the most beautiful piece of art I've ever experienced, I just beat it and highly recommend it. Its a very emotional and intense experience, and actually fun and relaxing too, and the music sounds like something from a Thom Yorke solo album. Kind of relaxing platformer/puzzler/walk through an art museum, pick this game up if you are a fan of beauty and wonder.
-
Dec 16, 2018This game is the very definition of a true hidden gem. It's a beautiful mastapiece. The art design, soundtrack, and story all flow together in harmony like a cool stream on a warm spring day. It has such a relaxing and interesting atmosphere that i didn't expect when i purchased this. Tell all your friends to play this game because it's truly worth it.

Dec 17, 2018GRIS is an incredible journey surrounded by astonishing landscapes, whith a suberb music and a smooth gameplay.
The detail in every little thing shows that they have made it with love to what they were doing. It is almost impossible to finish it without droping a tear. Congratulations to all the team! -

Aug 26, 2022this is a very cheap game with a big lack of content. you can do so many boring things
-
Jan 7, 2019It's not even a game, it's more like an interactive screensaver. I don't think it is so amazing beautiful as people use to say, I think it's just O.K.. However, you can get some fun...

Aug 22, 2019"Not great, not terrible"
-Mediocre level design and puzzles
-Excelent art and music.
If you look for challenge or meaningful experience look elsewhere. It is not bad, it is just mediocre as a game and acceptable as a mean to spend some time. -

Apr 25, 2020Style over substance. Lovely art and music, but very little actual game. It's like a game for people whose heart rate cannot be allowed to rise. There's no excitement in this game. The puzzles are barely puzzles, and for the most part you hold the direction button and occasionally jump. So while the art and music really is lovely, this game is lacking the "game" aspect.
-
Apr 19, 2019Relatively short but still good. It would get a higher score (at least a 9) if it was more complex in a sense of not only more levels but also more complex mechanics (exploration didn't feel that rewarding because of that lack of complexity but it was still great).
-
Mar 23, 2019Gris is a gorgeous, relaxing puzzle-platformer that lends itself perfectly to playing from start to finish in a single session. Don't sleep on this one.
-
Dec 14, 2018Great game or rather art. So.... it's not for everyone. Music is great. Graphic is fantastic. But I don't mean fps or 4k. Graphic is very... analog? :)

Nov 3, 2019Mi juego indie favorito de la vida... Una experiencia que me tocó en el momento perfecto, que conectó conmigo y yo con ella de manera muy personal. UNA OBRA DE ARTE
-
Sep 13, 2020One of the most beautiful games I've ever played. Pure art. Experience it on a big screen!
-
May 6, 2019Juego muy bonito, pero en mi opinión sobrevalorado. Las mecánicas de juego son limitadas y la segunda mitad del juego (de 3-4 horas de duración total) se hace incluso aburrido por repetir las dinámicas de juego.

Sep 6, 2020It really feels like playing a piece of art. It's an experience I never had with any other game before, and it really does feel special in it's own way. As a game, it may be short and overall easy, but I found myself not minding it one bit. This game is greatly immersive, stunning and touching, it actually brought me to tears at the end. It's an experience I would recommend to anyone.
-
Feb 3, 2019Очень красивая игра, в последнюю четверть игры у меня просто не переставали идти мурашки по коже, но к сожалению она очень короткая, прошел за 3 часа
Но всем все равно советую -

Feb 5, 2022One of the most beautiful games I've seen graphically and artistically. Its gameplay is entertaining, its music is enveloping and beautiful, and at no time does its splendor stop.
It has a very detailed art style, which you notice the love they put into this game.
Not only is it beautiful, but it is also very fun. What a great game. Made by a talented Spanish studio.
Totally recommended. -
May 27, 2019An absolute masterpiece!!!!
A must have on the Switch!!!
Play it or die.so fu**ing awesome.
Very beautiful music. -
Jun 25, 2019Stunning, beautifully done game. My 9 year old loved it for the visuals (and the female character) but the deeper meaning was incredible to talk through with her.
-
Aug 12, 2019It's a very inspiring game. Despite being a little short it's style is memorable. I'm going to recommend it to all my friends.
-
Jan 13, 2021Beautiful 2d exploration-based platformer. Everything about this experience was beautiful, serene, relaxing. The watercolor/pencil artwork is incredible, the soundtrack is amazing, and the game's soundscape works its way into the music wonderfully. Thanks for this amazing game.
-
Aug 20, 2019Beautiful poetic experience. Made me think about my inner demons and the seek for my true self.

Mar 4, 2021A piece of art. Yes it lacks some challenge but the "contemplative" side of the game is assumed until the end and difficulty is definitely not the point here. The cohesion between gameplay, level design, artistic direction and above all, this amazing soundtrack is pushed to a level I've never experienced before. Great work.

Apr 25, 2022Short, but good game, my girlfriend liked it.:). Cute, sad, good music, and an an another type of art.
-
Nov 6, 2020Juego precioso estéticamente, con una historia muy bonita que sabe engancharte de principio a fin, la duración se hace algo corta pero aun así es muy recomendable
-
Jul 25, 2023It's beautiful, and it puzzle solving approach to progression instead of a death system works really well imo.
-
Mar 13, 2020Without question one of the most breathtaking (literally, actually) indie masterpieces on the market, with its abstract designs and clever gameplay all collaborating together to deliver a complex emotional package that is arguably on par with PIXAR storytelling.
-
Jun 30, 2020One of the best games I have ever played visually speaking. Highly recommended to play it on a big screen. It is like a playable work or art.
-
Dec 25, 2020There's not a lot to do and you can't really replay it, but this is a beautiful and atmospheric game. The soundtrack and the watercolor backgrounds are really beautiful.
-
Apr 16, 2020This is perfect. One of the best game I've ever played. Really touching. Aesthetics are like a best wine.
-
Apr 18, 2020Visually gorgeous, simple enough puzzles to go through, this is a game better suited for adults that are potentially non gamers.
-
Apr 19, 2020Amazing and Beautiful game! Just finished it same day I bought it. Couldn’t take my eyes off of how the detail was so outstanding, the amount of personality put into this game, and the deeper connection of just gameplay. I’ve never done a review right after playing a game but this had to be shared even if it came out two years ago. My first and will not be the last time I play it!
-
Mar 4, 2021The artwork is simply stunning - gorgeous beyond belief, but the gameplay in this is just ... there's nothing to it. Walk simulator. I really hope the developer will make a more challenging sequel to this, as the artwork is simply stunning.

Jun 22, 2020Beautiful art style and music but I'm afraid GRIS didn't offer me much more than that. Its parable of grief is a great theme but executed too abstractly for my tastes.

Jan 27, 2021Gris is truly a visual masterpiece, it's soundtrack gave me chills, strongly recommend playing it.

Apr 20, 2021I very much reccomend this game! It's a fairly short, fairly simple platformer that nonetheless manages to pack a punch. Not to mention that it's absolutely beautiful! I feel I could spend forever just exploring some of the areas in it, just to look at the absolutely gorgeous backgrounds.
-
Aug 14, 2021Just AMAZING. Art style is insane. Story is told beautifully without a single word. Worth every penny.
-
Oct 11, 2021Absolutely beautiful game, the only one that brought tears to my eyes (and I started with NES in early 90s). Phenomenal piece of art.
-
Jun 30, 2022Masterpiece.
That's literally the only word needed to describe this stunning game. So good I bought it on Switch even though I already own it on Steam. -
Nov 16, 2021The art is ridiculously good. The puzzles are fine and playable. The story is heart-wrenching.

Dec 29, 2021The most beautiful game I’ve played, both in art direction, sound design, and storytelling.
It’s a world you can get lost in, and feel like you could go on forever, and an emotional journey which I can’t describe.
The gameplay is fun too, and there’s some post-game content to go through.
Surpassed my expectations,10/10.
Recommend both to gamers and people interested in art alike. -
Apr 27, 2022A beautiful game with lovely artwork and music. Simply a nice experience to play through. To me, this is more of an experience, almost a piece of art, than a game. The gameplay and puzzles were good, but not good enough for me to consider this an overall truly great game.

Jul 10, 2022A gift for the eyes and for the ears. Incredibly well design levels that make of this gem a short but hugely enjoyable video game and piece of art.
The ending is literally breathtaking. -
Jul 13, 2022I made an account just to review this game. As someone who is going thru a close loss myself this game is amazing. The soundtrack combined with the clever gameplay and background couldn't be better. I will continue to share this game with others. Everybody should give this game a try.
-
Jul 31, 2022This game it's amazing when it comes to the artstyle, everything looks beautiful, the colors, the main character, the statue, it's outstanding, the story is great, the music is good, it doesn't hit so hard, but it's welcome, the puzzle however are a little too easy and the game is too short, it lasts for about 6 hours, but if you want a peaceful game, well, this is a go-go
-
Feb 5, 2023Honestly just a beautiful experience. The way music gameplay and art come together in this game is just mesmerizing
-

Dec 1, 2022Beautiful. Puzzles aren't too hard, but I like that so I can experience what the devs/artists have created. Relaxing and inspiring for what Switch games can be.

Mar 27, 2023This is the most beautiful game i have ever played. The music, the watercolour artwork, this is my go to game if im feeling stressed and want to lose myself music and Art for few hours. It so beautifully done. The people that gave it negative reviews unfortunately did not understand how this game was supposed to be.

Nintendo Force MagazineAug 28, 2019An absolutely gorgeous work of art that everyone should experience at some point. [Issue #39 – May/June 2019, p. 23]
-
CD-ActionMar 25, 2019Almost universal admiration for Gris says a lot about the condition of video games industry. It’s just a 2D platformer devoid of any challenge, and instead of evoking true feeling it makes a good first impression (“wow, it’s beautiful!”) and then just glides for a couple of hours using that momentum. It doesn’t actually have anything important to say, it’s just pretty. [02/2019, p.56]

Jan 14, 2019While the story is loose and can leave players feeling a little lost, there are emotional cues that symbolize this as a journey of loss and healing. The excellent soundtrack, level design and commitment to themes make Gris a memorable title for all. With fun, adventurous platforming and puzzles that are both challenging and intuitive, its playstyle keeps things simple by placing player cognition at the forefront. Gris is a true work of indie art that prides itself on attention to details. Fans of works of art and video games will find a relatable home in Gris. Although this is Nomada Studio's first title, it has hit every possible note out of the park.
