May 6, 2021The puzzles are very difficult. Sometimes it’s invigorating to solve them, but they usually take way too long to figure out. Often they feel contrived. They are not intuitive nor clever. You sometimes feel like you have to read the designer’s mind, the clues are that bad. The story line is the only thing that made me want to continue with it.

Jul 3, 2018With a mysterious narrative about an unsettling old manor and its inhabitants, Goetia feels like a classic point and click adventure, but it has many quality of life improvements, which makes it worthwhile for any fan of the genre.

May 29, 2018Goetia is a mixed bag. There are some wonderful moments in here such as the story, which certainly kept me going, and the visuals and soundtrack which do their best to keep you engrossed, are certainly impressive. It falls short, however, due to some of the overly difficult sections that can lead to many frustrating points in the game, which can then make it grow slightly tiresome. What this boils down to is simply that Goetia doesn’t find the perfect balance needed for a truly great point-and-click game. But there is certainly something there for true fans of the genre.

May 9, 2018Goetia is a flawed yet engrossing point-and-click-style adventure for those looking for a challenge as well as an interesting story. Aside from the lack of a hint system resulting in the odd infuriatingly obtuse puzzle, it's a bleak, beautiful experience. It’s certainly slow and more text-heavy compared to other titles in the genre on Nintendo Switch, but it’s well-crafted and worth a look.
