You may well find Gal*Gun 2 to be offensive and intolerable. But that’s all the more reason to experience it and discuss it, and because it’s backed by a really good light gun experience that is bigger and (on balance) better than its predecessor, this game is one of the most playable and interesting transgressive franchises the Japanese industry has ever produced.

Gal*Gun 2 is every bit as good as its predecessor, even with its new types of stages not always entertaining as much as they should due to their increased difficulty. It's not as outlandish, which may disappoint some, but its gameplay has been fleshed-out and made more involving.

Gal Gun 2 is a special game, in the way that it’s all about half-naked girls moaning every single time they appear on screen. But curiously, it’s kind of fun and there are some good ideas in it.

Although the erotic content of the game is what stands out the most, it should be mentioned that in terms of gameplay is a fun arcade shooter, perfect for the three game modes of Nintendo Switch. Obviously, if you are against the sexualization of teenagers in video games, this game might annoy you.

"Fan service" in its purest state: if you like anime, "eroge", rail shooters, date sims and japanese weirdness (shoot pheromones to fight demons, really?), then Gal Gun 2 has all you've been looking for. The rest of the players should approach with caution and open mind: its absurd humor and the way it handles the female roles may scare your away.

If Gal*Gun: Double Peace was Times Square before Giuliani with all the porn stores, go-go bars, and occasional double homicide, Gal*Gun 2 is Times Square after Giuliani where the most immoral thing you’ll see is the lingerie section at Forever 21.

Having played a good amount of both games, even with the frame rate being half, I’d recommend the Switch version over the PS4 version for Gal*Gun 2.

If you can get past the underage ogling thing, Gal*Gun 2 is a fun, if short, game. Once you beat it, you can start a New Game+, which keeps all your phone contacts and goggle/gun upgrades, but the only real motivation for replaying Gal*Gun 2 is to pick different responses and see where the story winds up. Otherwise there’s not much meat on these underage bones. I don’t know if I can recommend Gal*Gun 2.

Even looking past the game’s sordid perversions, Gal*Gun 2 never becomes as entertaining as it needs to be to hold your attention for long. In many ways, that’s a shame as, while the game’s erotic nature may be an immediate turn off to some, it exists in an uncontested genre on Nintendo Switch.

This is a 12-year-old's (and beyond) sexual fantasy, and a pretty safe one at that - and that's fine. Unfortunately, the game attached to it all is a bore, as Gal*Gun 2 is nothing more than a mediocre, on-rails - sort of - shooter of no importance.

Gal*Gun 2 was always going to be a game which only applied to a niche audience, and there's little to suggest that may be anything other than the case. Your average person would feel awkward playing this in front of friends or family members - so best to get it played alone. The Free Hugs Edition is impressive, though.

Gal*Gun 2 has its charms, but they're hidden beneath lacklustre shooting and lengthy, repetitive levels.

Gal*Gun 2 offers an on-rails shooter experience that gets very familiar and repetitive far too quickly, without ever really providing enough content to keep you hooked. The pure fantasy element of the scenarios at hand is certainly the selling point, but the gameplay that surrounds it isn’t strong enough to justify a purchase. If you’re a fan of the series’ earlier titles, or if the art and plot appeal to your tastes, you’ll likely get something from the game, but anyone looking for great gaming action will likely be pretty disappointed.

Gal*Gun 2 is a subversive on-rails shooter that toes the line of decency with every step. Even if you can look past its questionable content, you're still left with a rather boring game.

Goodnight, Irene! Bei Gal Gun 2 wird man ohne Weiteres fertig, was unterschätzt wird, jedermann könnte auch Quake Remastered spielen.

The whole shooter aspect feels rather clumsy and inaccurate, and as that is the main part of the game, it lets the whole game down. Had the shooting controls and flow been done better, it would be worth higher score. As it is, its only 5/10. Full Review »
