    Fort Triumph is enjoyable, especially early on. The rules of the battle system are well-designed, the visuals are colorful and attractive, and the difficulty curve is pleasing. You’re better off enjoying it in its Skirmish mode than its Campaign Mode, because while it’s all well-made enough I feel it gets rather repetitive over the course of the story. I don’t think I would recommend it to a fan of Heroes of Might & Magic in spite of its leanings, but those who enjoy turn-based tactics games will find plenty here to fill their bellies.

    Fort Triumph might not be the biggest victory for the genre, but there is plenty of fun combat to be had. While not genre defining, it's easy to get wrapped up in combat, and suddenly have a couple of hours fly by. The UI is hard to read at times, in both docked and handheld mode, but that was about my only complaint. I enjoyed Fort Triumph, but didn't fall in love.

    Despite these criticisms, there’s a lot to like about Fort Triumph. XCOM is a good thing, and Heroes of Might & Magic is a good thing. Mashing those two good things together in a way that does justice to them both is a noble effort by the developers, and the presence of skirmish mode does mean that the poorly conceived narrative can be ignored. You’ll bounce off Fort Triumph quickly enough, but it’s a good time while it lasts.

    Let’s be honest, though many games have attempted to capture some element of the X-Com style of tactical strategy combat, very few have done aLet’s be honest, though many games have attempted to capture some element of the X-Com style of tactical strategy combat, very few have done a decent job of it. What I like about Fort Triumph is that it borrows some great general features from that franchise but then adds in some new tweaks and smart abilities that are a bit different and fresh. This means you’ll at least need to change up some of your typical planning to take the best advantage of the opportunities they afford you. Though the view of the field tries to be helpful with a free camera there are situations where it can still be hard to see precisely what you want to, and it can lead to some unusual shots as well of the action as it unfolds. What may win or lose the day will be the fantasy setting and the more contemporary sense of humor to things, for some pulling it away from being stuffy and serious but for others it could perhaps be a bit grating. A solid effort with strategy appeal, but perhaps not groundbreaking either to pull in new people to the fold.

    Great Indie game with a bit lack of content but price is ok with it. Mix of homm3 and xcom.

    imo it work well on switch but personally it could load a bit faster
    (not included a new generation map)

    4 - for not many units and not at least 1 unique unit for every race (castle)
    I got hope they will add more class Like druid or shaman ? maybe bard ? better as unique for races
    9 - for deep manage for units every possible class u can build with skills and over nice things like artifacts etc is cool
    7 - for fighting mechanic in most scenario the best what u can do is push environment on enemy so using a difference skills (that not use landscape manipulation) is a bit grey and a little weak for use that bad
    Wish they will add at least 2 more castle(race) more points of interest in map
    I think even now in that shape its good to have game like this game is really fun and i enjoy it a lot    … Full Review »
