Fitness Boxing 2 is a decent fitness game that will get you to sweat, provided you can muster up the discipline. The game provides a good variety of exercises and incentives to come back each day. The best and worst part of Fitness Boxing is that it doesn't need any additional hardware but instead relies on joy-con movement, which isn't always very accurate. Fitness Boxing 2 is a good alternative to Ring Fit Adventure if you don't want any additional equipment.

If you’re looking for some exercise, Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm & Exercise is a good option on the Nintendo Switch. With the Just Dance series stagnating, and Ring Fit Adventure expensive, this is a solid alternative. Even if you aren’t a fan of boxing (I’m not), you’ll be able to enjoy this sequel.

Rhythm & Exercise is a game that aims to keep us healthy and fit while having fun. It offers a correct customization of training and alarms so as not to forget the session. As well as complete statistics of the exercises and calories burned. A good option for beginners of this activity.

Ringfit Boxing 2 is a strange mix between WiiFt and Just Dance, but it works. Since you can’t get out a lot nowadays, if you like training having a fitness app you can use and enjoy everywhere may be a good idea. Motion detection is quite accurate and the daily training program has a good variety of exercises. It won't last forever, but it should do its job until the lockdown ends.

A fun game that allows you to practice fitboxe at home, with a nice variety of contents and a great soundtrack.

The concept remains the same and wisely: the formula works, it allows you to exercise, to work your cardiovascular system, even to strengthen your muscles for the most motivated and this without having to move away from home.

Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm & Exercise is a decent game that can make a regular gamer move about and try to exercise. It does enough to get you going and make it interesting, but at the end of the day, it’s the will of the gamer that’s going to be needed for a regular and proper exercise.

Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm & Exercise greatly simplifies home sports activities and makes them more fun and exciting.

It’s a better Wii Fit, in the sense that Fitness Boxing 2 trims the fat (ha!) that were the slow exercises and loading times. But much like Wii Fit, I cannot guarantee that it will maintain your interest for long or present enough new features over time. At the very least, you won’t have to stow away a balance board in a closet somewhere after punching out.

Very similar to the first title, with a bunch of new trainers, routines and a refreshed soundtrack. Ring Fit Adventurs is still king of fitness on the Nintendo Switch.

This is a great exercise experience for Nintendo Switch that makes excellent use of its motion controls, although the game doesn't introduce quite enough changes to stand out from its predecessor.

Fitness Boxing 2 is largely the same as the first title. The only real difference is that there are more trainers to choose from and the soundtrack is different. For owners of the first game, this may not be enough, but the option to transfer your exercise and user data from the first game is available nonetheless. For extended workouts, get a pair of gloves as those Joy-Cons will get super sweaty. It is a hugely accessible title that sets out to fill the Wii Fit void and acts as a nice complement to proper diet and exercise routine.

While it is true that Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm Exercise doesn't have the huge amount of content of other similar games, it is also true that it goes on sale at a lower price. In return, this title will give you hours of fun and exercise.

This sequel doesn’t really bring any new features to the formula. However, it still works as a workout companion for those looking a lower-intensity training they can do at home, or to complement their workouts.

Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm and Exercise is more or less the same game as the first Fitness Boxing. But it adds a lot of customization options that were absent from the first game. It's just too bad that the game doesn't add new gameplay modes or more songs to exercise on. That being said, people looking for a fitness game could do a lot worse than giving Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm & Exercise a shot.

Fitness Boxing 2 is pretty much the same game as the first one: throw punches in rhythm to the music, score points and burn some calories in the process. [Issue#251, p.68]

I really can’t say anything overly negative about Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm & Exercise because, despite the issues it has, it will produce results if you keep at it. And that’s the ultimate goal when buying an exercise game. But at $50, you really have to ask yourself if it wouldn’t be worth it to spend a little more money to get a vastly superior experience. If this is all you’re willing to spend and you don’t already own a fitness game, then go for it. But if you have the cash, you'll likely be better served by Ring Fit Adventure.

While Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm & Exercise hosts a number of improvements that will complement your workout, there are a host of technical issues that make this a worse performing experience. If you can get past the underwhelming music and slight slowdown, however, you’ll find a wonderful exercise program if you stick with it.

Fitness Boxing 2 isn’t a bad way to keep your body energised, but the few improvements it has loaded into its gloves can’t hide its flawed punching technique or its disappointing lack of beats to bounce around to between uppercuts.

The routines and exercises of Fitness Boxing 2 are well thought out, but unfortunately there's a limit in the way it detects motion controls that may discourage lazy players to focus as much as they should, because they will still be rewarded with great scores anyway.

If you're coming to Fitness Boxing 2 fresh-faced and don't own the first game, then it might be worth picking up. However, if you played the first one or if you own Ring Fit Adventure, it's incredibly hard to recommend it unless you're really into thirsting over the instructors, all of whom you can still rather creepily dress-up and customise.

The general presentation isn't anything special, the responsiveness isn't as tight as I'd hoped, and the music featured does nothing to make me feel motivated whilst training, however, there's still a solid fitness experience that'll appeal to a lot of people who need that extra push over the Christmas period.

Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm & Exercise is a decent way to workout indoors, but won't do much to improve your boxing skills.

Fitness Boxing 2 is not a bad choice for players looking for a way to exercise on Nintendo Switch. You will sweat for sure, but there isn't a big improvement in this sequel and, beyond that, the training isn't as addictive as other similar approaches like Ring Fit Adventure.

Fans of the original Fitness Boxing will feel at home with this sequel, if a little disappointed that it isn't quite the evolution it could have been. A few new instructors and an improved achievements system isn't quite enough to make up for the fact that this still suffers from many of its predecessor's issues, most notably its disappointingly small selection of music and the terrible unlicensed instrumental versions it provides.

Fitness Boxing 2 tries to replicate cardio box routines, but the game has some problems in movement detection and calories burnt. Even licensed music tracks are not original versions.

With something like Ring Fit Adventure, the variety of exercises and madcap storyline drew me back in time and time again, and in comparison Fitness Boxing 2 just feels flat. Even the budget RRP of £39.99 feels far too much to pay. Given that we’re all mostly housebound at the moment, it feels like there might have been an opportunity to do something more interesting with the concept.

I was exited to get some good exercise and burn some calories. But after playing the first time I noticed how bad it was in terms of registering your punches. I quickly figured out that for the game to register a perfect score you would have to punch earlier. In general that would not be an inconvenience if you don’t care about getting a good score and just want to sweat a little. Also wouldn’t generally be a problem if you naturally don’t care much about rhythm in general. But when you hear the beat and try punching with it you get a missed you start to get frustrated. I tried ignoring it and just focus on burning some calories. But the further you advance the more noticeable this problem becomes. The more combos you want to make the more you miss if you are one ti fall into the music rhythm. Then it just becomes confusing and stressing. It gets frustrating pretty quick after that. After trying a second time I just realized I had wasted my money with this game. It ended up being more frustrating than enjoyable. And there is no way one can focus on exercise if you are feeling frustrated constantly. I have read reviews of people who say this problem won’t happen if you play it on table top mode. Well now I’ll have to wear my glasses to throw some punches because otherwise it won’t register on time? Maybe if you think you’ll be ok with it, I’m glad for you. But it is just too annoying for me that after paying $50 you also have to deal with these things. If you want to buy it, I would recommend you check out the demo version first. And if you think something is inconvenient or uncomfortable, just know, this won’t be fixed on the full version. The discomfort is just going to get worse. Full Review »

It doesn't actually matter what punches you throw. As long as it registers some sort of punch, it'll consider it done. I also find it fairly inconsistent in actually registering punches.

My cousin has been a boxer since he was 12 and he played a couple of levels when he visited. So here's where the major issues lie. This is essentially shadow boxing. And as long as you're not throwing much power into your punches, you'll likely be ok. But the moment you add any actual power, you're injuring joints. If you're able to consistently control your punches, it's not too bad. But throw too much power and you risk injury. And once you start getting fatigued, control suffers and you're more likely to get sloppy. The second time I played, I was a bit sloppy on a punch and I strained my shoulder. Sure, if you're young and made of rubber and magic, then I'm sure you'll be ok. But for anyone else, this is probably a good way to hurt yourself.

They also made zero effort with the warm-ups and cooldowns. Warm-ups are ok but not enough to be properly warmed up. But cool down is just a repeat of warm up. They didn't even bother to stop calling it warm-up when you're cooling down.

And I really found it pretty dull. I don't find myself wanting to fire it up.

The idea is great but it gets repetitive really quick. But if you want to learn the basics of boxing then go for it.
