Had too much expectation due to all the good reviews. Didn't have too fun playing it due to difficult controls. Played coop with wife, who's a casual gamer, the game only lasted 5 minutes before it's over. Giving it a lower score to balance out all the good scores because it's just not that good.

Too difficult, with near-zero ability to tune the difficulty. I truly regret purchasing this. I can't even get past the 3rd level. The game is nothing like the trailer, unless you're able to get really lucky or really far into the game.

    Can't play local co-op with 2 Joycons.
There is a controls set that makes it possible to play with a single joycon (you use the buttons for aiming) and it's actually quite comfortable. Why they chose to force you to pay for another pair of controllers to play co-op buffles me.

I'm probably in the minority, but what's the fun about dying and playing everything over and over again? The game is fun for the first 20 minutes until you go to chapter 2, die there, start from zero and realize there can't be any progress in this game. 1 point for the visuals, animations and sounds. If there would be any savepoints along the way, I would give it 9/10, but without themI'm probably in the minority, but what's the fun about dying and playing everything over and over again? The game is fun at first, but doesn't last long. Game load times are a bit long. The controls need to be reassigned and after several changes they still don't feel right (part of the blame belongs to the comfort of the Switch). This game is very challenging, paired with the random level designs, random enemies, and random boss encounters, makes using trial and error not an option. The game is fun at first, but doesn't last long. This game is very challenging, paired with the random level designs, random enemies, and random boss encounters, makes using trial and error not an option. Sometimes as you enter the next room the enemies are right there ready to greet you with a bullet to the face, other times nobody is home. I never got past the first boss. In the five attempts I encountered Bullet King twice and Gatling Gull thrice. Extra hearts or extra lives and/or quicker reload times would have made this playable for me. I did not play Co-Op mode. Maybe Co-Op mode would have made it enjoyable or easier to play. Someone with more skill and more time could play and score this positively. I wish, I had my money back.
For comparison I've finished Axiom Verge in 20 hours, 74% Item, and 92% Map. And Celeste 14 hours without attempting to get strawberries or B-sides.

Enter the Gungeon perhaps killed the rogue-like/lite genre for me. Due to the lack of content, such as character variety, weapon availability, and the repetitive grind. This game was made to fight against you, too much so that it ruins the games experience. With the new update the game did get a little better, answering a really needed prayer of checkpoints between floors, yet still not enough has been changed to have me change the rating I've given the game, as it is still lackluster, and repetitive the moment I pick up the controller.

Not since Darkest Dungeon have I seen a game where bad RNG can and will completely tank your run for no reason at all. Truly an unbalanced sham and anyone telling you otherwise is only trying to sell you something.

Enter the Gungeon can be brutal. However, you’ll find yourself laughing at its quirky dialogue and obviously ridiculous weapons, and you’ll dust yourself off and jump back in. And each time, you get a little bit better, get a little bit farther, discover a secret area on the map, and prepare to die — just one more time.

Games as good as Enter the Gungeon don’t come along very often. There’s so much to discover here that you’ll be playing this game for a long time. And you’ll still come back even after you see everything. Gungeon is the pinnacle of rogue-like design.

Enter the Gungeon was a super-fun game back in 2016 and now, it's even better. So, if you still haven't played it and you have a fondness for roguelike twin-stick shooters, picking up a copy of this delightful package is a must. [Physical Edition]
