An '80s inspired arcade racing game with bright neon visuals and synth music. Fun to play once you unlock more vehicles, but is extremely difficult at the beginning until you can ditch that first shaky car you start with that can make you feel a little queasy if you get motion sick.

Electro Ride: The Neon Racing is a good speed arcade game that stands out on Nintendo Switch with its aesthetic proposal, although it needs more content and improvements in some aspects.

Electro Ride: The Neon Racing has a unique enough visual style to successfully set itself apart from other arcade racers on Switch. However, poor vehicle handling and the indecision of which type of core racing audience to appeal to gives it a limited appeal.

Electro Ride: The Neon Racing suffers from touchy controls and an overall lack of depth. It’s not amongst the best racing options available for the Switch, but it does contain a couple of unique elements that may appeal to gamers looking for something a little different.

It would be amazing if Electro Ride was secretly intended to be a critique or polemic or something. But that’s giving it way too much credit. Instead, it’s just a boring racing game that tries to cover up its significant flaws with some pretty lights and a cool soundtrack. No matter how cool Electro Ride tries to look, it can’t hide the fact that its tracks are dull and its cars can’t drive straight.

Often I find myself trying to look for as much good in a game as I can. I think you have to be a pretty spectacularly bad game to get a 0 from me, so I suppose congratulations to Electro Ride: The Neon Racing, which is apparently so graphically intense that it struggles to run a pre-rendered 2d cutscene at the intended framerate. The driving feels like the road is made of butter, the courses are uninteresting, the gimmick of changing colour both means nothing and is done far better in other games, and overall I just feel like I wasted my money. Don't buy this trash, for your own sake. Full Review »
