Mar 7, 2022Egglia Rebirth gets a lot right despite its issues. With many smaller scale RPGs trying and failing to capture people's attention on Nintendo Switch by being more of the same, I'm glad Egglia Rebirth tried something different with its structure. The gameplay improvements over the mobile version and new content definitely help make this an easier recommendation.

Feb 9, 2022This game is quite amusing and entertaining. It’s full of beautiful scenes, nifty-looking characters that I’ve not seen in any other game, and a few minor issues, but everything is well-designed. I mean it’s practically perfect from start to finish and everything in between. The world is gorgeous and the characters fit the story quite well. Each with their own personal spicy attitude and mannerisms.

Mar 11, 2022You get a whole lot of game for the humble price tag, and I’m very interested to see what projects we see from Brownies in the future. EGGLIA Rebirth would be a very easy recommendation with some tweaking and a few overhauls to its weaker systems, but even in its current form there’s still plenty to enjoy.

Feb 10, 2022Don’t be put off too much by its smart device origins — Egglia Rebirth is an enjoyable and charming RPG that’s a delight to experience on Switch. The bite-sized levels make this one easy to pick up and play, while the ongoing barrage of new quests, friends, and levels keep giving you good reasons to come back for more. It must be said that the gameplay can feel a little shallow on extended sessions and the constant presence of timers can sometimes make it feel like a weird fit for a console. However, if you’re a fan of Legend of Mana or are just looking for a light RPG that doesn’t require too much mental investment, Egglia Rebirth is a solid title we can recommend.

Feb 9, 2022Egglia Rebirth is a really fun game. It feels more like an indie JRPG than it does a mobile tile, which works in the Switch version’s favor. Players who spend a lot of time with it will potentially feel rewarded by its systems. Though, if you’re someone who wants to make the most out of their time, you might feel frustrated with how slow the game can be sometimes. That said, it’s an interesting title that feels standout in comparison to most modern releases. Overall, Egglia Rebirth is a game that rewards players with patience, and will surprise some with its layered mechanics.

Mar 8, 2022Egglia Rebirth in an inoffensive and relaxing little game, too easy and too shallow for old time JRPG aficionados, but suited for younger audiences and people who often play mobile games.

Apr 9, 2022Egglia Rebirth brings us an RPG where the gameplay mechanics involve exploration and construction, topped off by a humorous and welcoming environment and plot. Simple and accessible, Egglia Rebirth is best enjoyed in shorter game sessions, given its origin as a game developed for mobile devices which leads to a feeling of repetitiveness if played like most of its console counterparts. Nonetheless, those looking for a fun, comical and accessible experience will find a great time with Egglia Rebirth.

Feb 18, 2022Egglia provides interesting ideas, solid gameplay, a nice magical world, and no difficulty whatsoever. It's okay if that's what you need, but no french subtitles for this talkative game limits its general interest.

Feb 11, 2022I want to like Egglia. The writing and characters are fun, the village building aspect is an enjoyable twist, and the art is beautiful. Unfortunately, the game feels too stripped down to be enjoyable. Grinding and not knowing what level you need to challenge a boss is frustrating. I think this works as a mobile game where you might play in short bursts, but for a console game, it just feels off.

Feb 11, 2022Egglia Rebirth has everything you’d want to see in a JRPG on Switch. It has the developer pedigree of the Brownie Brown founders, the music of Yoko Shimomura, visually pleasing 2D visuals, and a superb localization. It’s a shame that the gameplay itself is somewhere between overly simplified and frustrating, largely thanks to the mobile influences that still seep into this Switch release. If you have a high tolerance for mobile fluff, then Egglia Rebirth might still be worth a look, but be prepared for countdown timers and weirdly high difficulty spikes to dirty your pleasant nostalgic jaunt.

Mar 1, 2022Overall, EGGLIA Rebirth is a fun and simple RPG game that is let down by its grindy and unnecessary gameplay mechanics.
