Earthfall is much better when played with friends but there’s nothing here that’ll really blow you away. A solid if unspectacular effort.

Despite all of its flaws, Earthfall: Alien Horde is the only shooter of its type on the Switch. That alone gives it a base for longer than most lower-budget titles with an online component. If you're a more discerning player or one who has more options than the Switch, the pull isn't going to be that strong. Dull objectives, endless combat with frustrating foes, lifeless shooting, and a lack of polish in the performance area leave a game that can't match up with its contemporaries or the classics that it's trying to emulate. It'll work if you have nothing else available, but you'll also wish that other four-player, co-op, first-person shooters would arrive on the Switch platform.

Earthfall: Alien Horde attempts to fill a spot still left absent by L4D3, but unfortunately fails to capture the magic or atmosphere of the genre's best.

If you enjoy left 4 dead and want something that feels and plays almost identical on the switch this is not a bad option at all, I enjoyed it immensely! Expand

So if you're a fan of first-person shooters, Left For Dead or Call of Duty Zombies, I'd say this game is a must buy. It really is a solid game, and pretty great for $20. My only real gripe is the frame rate, which seems to hover around 20 fps in busy spots. Apparently a patch is on the way to address that though. Online was fun and active when I hopped on. I highly recommend this to anyone who has a Switch as their main (or only) system. Expand
