You need Nintendo Switch online, otherwise you can't even turn on the freaking game. No one appreciates forced pay to play services. You can't even start a tutorial for the multiplayer mode. It feels like a scam.

Unplayable as certain characters, untested, bad QA. Cannot believe it was released like this.

Playability, if you have NSO is fun and there, and irritatingly addictive at times. But, it’s a cash grab only game, you can no longer play as Raider with friends as Survivors. Which, this cripples your weekly challenges, and they don’t even give you cue advancements if you play with friends. It’s fine. If you have NSO and Best Buy etc puts it back on sale for $8.99, buy it. However, fanPlayability, if you have NSO is fun and there, and irritatingly addictive at times. Dragon Ball: The Breakers is somewhat of a surprise in the sense that a survival game is an unexpected way to take on the Dragon Ball series but The Breakers does a good job at its heart and it gives players a fun and engaging way to explore the Dragon Ball universe, both as survivors and villains. The experience would be more enjoyable if it had more offline and single player options, especially on a format like the Nintendo Switch.

If you're a fan of the Dragon Ball franchise, it's obvious that you'll be interested in trying it, but as a game, I would frankly recommend trying something else within the same genre. If Bandai Namco doesn't want to see The Breakers fail, it should definitely get down to business with updates and content, as it has a lot of room for improvement.

Dragon Ball: The Breakers needs to work on its online infrastructure, but beyond that it's a fast, exciting romp best played with a party full of well-known friends, as opposed to silent strangers.
