Jun 16, 2023Dordogne is the perfect game to play in the summer. It may only be a few hours long, but it's long enough to leave an impression on you, one that'll have you feeling reflective and nostalgic yourself. The unique art style and wistful music really brings this game to life, and the immersive and hands-on gameplay stops this game from being just an interactive movie with an intriguing story. All-in-all, if you're looking for a game with a good story, engaging gameplay, gorgeous graphics and music, then Dordogne is exactly what you're looking for.

Aug 1, 2023Dordogne is an interesting, imperfect game with some phenomenal design and visuals. The watercolor graphics make for one of the most stunning games I’ve seen for a while, and some of the interactive choices worked incredibly well, such as the activity of putting photos and poems together to make the binder Mimi longs to rediscover. While there are certain areas of frustration, I ultimately enjoyed my time in exploring Mimi’s childhood memories (and my own) through art.

Edge MagazineJul 13, 2023Despite its leisurely atmosphere, Dordogne is a more serious story than you might anticipate. [Issue#387, p.122]

Jun 13, 2023On its trip down the river, some of Dordogne’s design ideas feel stodgy, performance is sometimes flaky, and it leans into its clunkiest gameplay elements as it nears the end. But to get hung up on these points is to miss a truly touching story bringing a beautiful world to life in sound and images. There’s a lot to reward you here if you can navigate the obstacles and just go with the flow.

Jun 13, 2023Dordogne had enchanted us with his beautiful watercolors, able to fully represent the open, sunny and carefree spirit of the French countryside of the southwest, lulled by the calm and quiet waters of the Dordogne River. Unfortunately, however, the adventures of Mimi turned out to be very uninspiring, both from the point of view of the plot (all in all forgettable) and the gameplay, confined to minigames of mediocre quality.
