Played for like 20 hours , gameplay is unique and challenging. Mini games are really fun. There is a lot of reading but it’s really thought out. It's so damn good. The visuals are fantastic same goes for the soundtrack. Though the cutscenes can get boring. But if you overlook that you have an incredible farming sim.

Great game, very relaxing! Charming hand drawn art style that’s very well done. Great mechanics, everything you expect from a Story of Seasons game! Great story. Very hard to put down, been playing 3 hours a day since it came out, would be more if I had more time! There is little voice work/acting but the little that there is has not been translated/dubbed so voices are in Japanese still. The noise The main character makes when doing tasks, or exerting himself could get irritating for some, character says “Ei or Eh?” When swinging ax or other hand tools, it doesn’t bother me really which is good because I was concerned watching the pre-release trailer. If that does get on your nerves though you can individually control music, Sfx, or voice volume, so any sound that bothers you can be muted individually and since the voices are not dubbed and there’s so little voice work you don’t really miss out on anything by muting it. Great game over all, I just keep all my sounds on because I don’t mind and enjoy the full experience! I highly recommend! Expand

Very run, relaxing game. All the elements of a typical Story of Seasons, minus the romance. Art direction is fantastic, performance is mostly solid. Highly recommended.

Great story of seasons game. Enjoying it tremendously as it is very relaxing and easy going. Don’t mind the exclusion of marriage either.

I am not going to lie, I got this game out of nostalgia for Doraemon, its one of those anime that I grew up with. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Doraemon Story of Seasons has a cute story that feels like something you could find in the Doraemon anime. I like the fact that gifting is easy in this game not much for dislikes. The napping feature restores 10 stamina an hour which is a really neat feature allowing you to utilize any extra time that you may have to get more stamina, plus it immediately jumps so no waiting so you can even nap to a time a store that opens (or reopens) later. If your starting to run low on stamina you can choose to catch bugs or fish which doesn’t require any stamina at all. For your tools yeah you’ll need to upgrade tools so chopping down stronger trees and busting stronger rocks is easier, but that’s normal in a farming simulator. You don’t start off with much personal storage in your backpack, but it doesn’t take me long to save money to get the backpack upgrades. Feeding and maintaining your animals is a quick and easy process as well. Is this game a bit “cheesy”? Yes. But you need to take into account that Doraemon is a popular anime in Japan for children. I got this game despite that all because I loved Story of Seasons, and SoS Trio of Towns on 3DS. This game isn’t as broad as those titles on 3DS, but this game didn’t disappoint. Also if you don’t like the fact that the little bit of voice acting is in Japanese you can turn the voices off which Japanese voice acting never bugged me. Expand

Menuda grata sorpresa el juego va de fábula en Nintendo Switch, buenos subtítulos en castellano, mapa amplio, variedad de elementos, buenos gráficos, buena música, una joya escondida. Muy recomendado.

If you like Doraemon, you'll probably like this tale, but as a Story of Seasons fan, I would rather not spend my farming life in Natura. [Issue #44 – January/February 2020, p. 18]

It’s definitely worth checking out after Stardew Valley. Even if Doraemon Story of Seasons is not as complex as Eric Barone’s game, it still does often pleasantly surprise – and that surprise element is something that was long missing in Story of Seasons. [13/2019, p.86]

Although the title lacks some of the popular features of other farming simulators, such as dating, Doraemon: Story of Seasons is a charming game that I think is great for kids and a great starting entry for the genre. It doesn't add anything new to the genre, but if you wanted a game that is a great farming simulator along with an establishment of a popular IP, then Doraemon: Story of Seasons is worth a look at, as well as being a much better game to play for a younger demographic. But there are plenty of other competing options out there and it will probably not be your go-to title.
