4 player max suck and party finder doesn't work, very hard to communicate with people in game. No way to make trade communication. Basically if you want to play solo this is the best option.

7/10 if you want to play solo. Improved graphics are nice, but some of the systems feel dated now. But still solid.

1/10 if you want to play online. Just skip it and dont bother. Terrible server issues, login queue!, often rollbacks of your progress. Just do yourself a favour and skip it.

I don't believe in giving games a 0, but this one was hard. Blizzard let the Diablo 3 hating purists have every single demand they wanted and they STILL hate the game, not even for their horrid server issues. These people ruined it to get EXACTLY what they wanted and they still hate it. In the end, D3 fans don't like the game and D2 fans don't like the game. These people ruined it to get EXACTLY what they wanted and they still hate it. In the end, D3 fans don't like the game and D2 fans don't like the game. On top of that, the game is almost impossible to play because of server issues. It took them a month just to implement a server queue and my average wait time is over an hour if I really want to play, being 550+ in queue. That queue does not move fast.

So to flip things a bit, I'll save server issues for that, but these are the issues with the game:

    - Inventory management is awful
    - Inventory size is a joke
    -Town portals are expensive
    - Leveling is a total joke and takes far, far too long
    - Diablo is the most overpowered boss I've ever seen. I've yet to land a single hit on him despite having killed every single previous boss on the first try. Diablo has killed my entire party in a single stomp every time. I honestly haven't even seen him at all. he kills me from off-screen
    - Hit registration is nearly non-existent. I have a 99% chance to hit yet roughly 80% of my attacks just vanish into thin air.
    - When you play offline, the game no longer randomly generates the maps each login
    - When you play offline, the stash is reduced to barely 80% of the online stash and you have only one single page. There's enough room for your quest items, meaning the things you MUST keep, and absolutely nothing else.

    Then there's the server issues:
    - Server queue wasn't implement until recently. The switch got it yet another week later
    - Server queue length is criminal and can take in the upwards of multiple hours
    - Playing on weekends or evening is not possible. The servers are full
    - Let's not forget the rubber banding that has resulted in me getting killed multiple times and no, it is absolutely not my internet.
    - Even better, it disconnects at random. It's not all that common, but happens once or twice every other or every 3rd playthrough. Once disconnected, it's back to the queue

I'm only playing it cause I want to finish the story, but I've already gotten refunds for my Xbox and PC. I've only got it on Switch and I only play it handheld. Docked is.....seriously ugly. I will never understand how the game runs significantly worse than D3 on identical hardware. I've also never seen a game that had not one, but TWO betas, and still managed to launch in a far worse state than the beta.

Game is a cheap cash grab. Graphics are nice, but that's about it.

    - more bugs than the original D2 - Game crashes once every hour - Multiplayer lobby on PC is even worse than original one - Barely any multiplayer functionality on console - Constant server crashes, rollbacks, long waiting queues Overall, the game is far far far from finished. Releasing this early build for 40 €

    Online does not work.
Basically a single player, no point in connecting online if match making will only let you play solo.
Server disconnection which is frequent, causes loosing some progression

    Disconnects and client crushes constantly.
Due to problems with servers, instead of a solution, the developers made a crutch in the form of a cooldown when creating a game. Well done blizzard.

I don't have the nostalgia factor for this game as I never played this when I was a kid.

Saying that. I wish more improvements were made to get this up to speed with modern day standards. The update to the graphics was nice but this really needed more. I managed get to the last area and can honestly say my time was mostly filled with frustration over the ridiculously small inventory

I managed get to the last area and can honestly say my time was mostly filled with frustration over the ridiculously small inventory sizes. Most my time was spent uselessly managing loot and going back and fourth to town to sell.

Also the sheer amount of potion vomit was so lame. I can see why the newer game did away with potions like this in favor of a refreshing potion. Being bombarded by all these potions and junk loot felt ridiculous. That felt like such a massive design flaw keeping the loot system like this and the inventory this tiny but maybe how they artificially made games longer back then.

Just because this was a classic back then, doesn't mean it's good now. Shiny new graphics only can go far.

Playing on the switch was a pain too. Handheld mode is the most uncomfortable as nothing really felt optimized for the small screen size.

The game's servers have constant problems and honestly as somebody who didn't grow up on D2, it's pretty overrated. All the slows and mana burns and melee hit accuracy are just a chore to deal with, Whatever challenge they add it feels more like the game isn't responding which is compounded by the fact the servers suck and it lags sometimes.

Посредственная игра, которая пытается выглядеть как Diablo2. Сплошная цензура уничтожила стиль игры и её инфернальность. Думаю с такой политикой, игры станут только для детей. Определённо это фиаско.

I'm playing hard core had a portal up in town and was alt tabbed out checking runewords for a second came back in and dropped back in my portal. As soon as I dropped down a guy pk'd me. I had no idea he was in the game and he was able to go from partied to hostile automatically. I lost my character and all its progress without any warning whatsoever. Well thought out.
For the price it was a money grab for a game that hasn't been improved at all other than the graphics. But I guess this is what Blizzard has devolved onto. Resorting to remaking past hits from the glory days until they are dead. They haven't made a decent game with staying power in near a decade. Pretty much since Activision came on the scene.

All the classes look like they’ve aged 20 years as if the models actually aged in between the original and “remaster”. The Amazon looks like a man and her outfits were censored to appear less sexualized. The same is true for the other “female” classes while the male models just look like tired old men. It’s funny how it’s okay for these deranged liberals to sexualize underage girls in trash like “Cuties” but adult females in a dark fantasy setting can’t have any sexualization. Blizzard even censored some of the enemy models and backgrounds. Blizzard knew the outrage from fans over the changes they made to the character designs and doesn’t seem to care and released it in this condition anyway. The only reason I gave this game a 1 is that you can switch back to the original uncensored graphics but that kind of defeats the purpose of buying a remaster in the first place and that doesn’t really fix the ugly models which are still present. Don’t support this “remaster” with your money the original unbastardized version is still available to play. Expand

Diablo II: Resurrected is a great game, but in a genre that has seen drastic growth and evolution ever since. It’s an experience that is certainly worth playing, especially if you understand the context that it was launched and its importance to today’s titles.

Diablo II Resurrected, for the most part, strikes a perfectly respectable balance between maintaining the look and feel of the original and updating it for a modern audience. It's unambitious, but it doesn't really need to be any more than that — Diablo II was a wonderful game, and all it really needed was a bit of sprucing up at the end of the day. That's been done here, and done mostly well, and the transition to a gamepad is probably is good as it could've been. Still, it feels dated in some ways, and its online/offline character split was a dreadful choice, given how bad the servers have been for it. Still, it is Diablo II, for better and for worse, and if you're like me and have a nostalgic attachment to it, it's probably worth a play.

Diablo II: Resurrected is a great port plagued by the usual server issues. When those stop — or if you can work around them — D2:R is a great port that polishes up a cult classic without losing its original charm and gameplay loop. The improved visuals run well on the Switch, and the quality-of-life improvements and good controller implementation ensure that D2 is a joy to experience on the handheld. Of course, there are some noticeable downgrades, but none of them impede the experience, and they're necessary to ensure the game runs smoothly and without hitches. If you favor portability over quality, the Switch version of D2:R is worth picking up.
