    Great game! The gameplay is as addictive and satisfying as ever, and unlike most HD remasters, this isn't just a lazy cash grab rerelease; Capcom added content to modernize the gameplay.

    This title is one of the best hack-and-slash titles I've experienced on the legendary PlayStation 2 console many years ago, playing Nintendo Switch has the same beautiful sense of the past as if it were more valuable over time. I would recommend the shine and polish to all lovers of this style, do not miss it.

    Is this game amazing? Yes! Is it worth paying just to play it on the Switch? Maybe. Honestly if you still have your old copy and system I couldn't really tell much of a difference.

    Arguably the greatest action game ever created now on the go. This version has weapon and style switching on the fly. Making it the best version of the game out on the market! Must buy for any switch owner who loves action!

C’est peut être un détail pour vous mais pour les fans ça veut dire beaucoup…et que dire de la folie créatrice des 9999 niveaux du Palais Sanglant. La Switch a donc l’honneur d’accueillir à petit prix la version ultime d’un des meilleurs jeux d’action Hack and Slash de tous les temps. Un must-have !!!    … Expand

    Oh boy this game truly embodies the smoky sexy style the series is known for. The game is a prequel to the other 2 games and while on the surface the story is a one liner action junkie fest, the story manages to have nuisance through the portrayals of the younger Dante, his brother Virgil and Lady. As for the gameplay it is a massive step up from the prior games 2 especially. The weaponsOh boy this game truly embodies the smoky sexy style the series is known for. The game is a prequel to the other 2 games and while on the surface the story is a one liner action junkie fest, the story manages to have nuisance through the portrayals of the younger Dante, his brother Virgil and Lady. As for the gameplay it is a massive step up from the prior games 2 especially. The weapons have more moves than in prior games and there are greater variety in the weapons including dantes trademark sword nunchucks and a guitar. The ability to switch between 2 of your weapons mid combo gives you far more tools than previously and tickles the experimental side of my brain that normally only fighting games manage to achieve. You can also swap 2 fire arms while playing dante. Adding to the combat sandbox is the introduction of styles that give you an extra option in combat of your choice. One is a dash good for dodging, another gives your devil arms more moves another gives gun abilities and royal guard is a parry that can be used on any attack in the game. There are also a few unlockable ones that can't level up but still provide even more variety to the gameplay. Adding to the masterfull gameplay of course is the rogues gallery, After All if the enemies didn't challenge you much of the sandbox provided would be useless. Enemies are tough but boss fights add a spice to the combat due to their diffrent methods of function. Some you can only attack when they do certain moves some create shields and some are just giant monsters. The fights with vergil however are a highlight and the final fight is one of the best I have ever played. Virgil is also playable after beating the game, gameplay wise he's awesome with unique weapons and moves. He only has one gun but you can switch through all 3 weapons in gameplay and his unique teleporting style makes another playthrough worthwhile in it's own right. Unfortunately besides a unique opening cutscene there are no changes in Virgil's campaign to dante's no cutscenes are included at all and you still fight virgil and not dante which was disappointing however he is a worthy reward for the gameplay alone. Devil may cry 3 is the game that not only lets me see why so many love this franchise but also made me fall in love with it, It's gameplay has aged like a fine wine and any action gamer fan needs to give it a go… Expand

    Best DMC of this first trilogy! Nice game (better than DMC 2) with solid story, smooth gameplay with great cutscenes and size game. This game tells about after and first years of "Devil May Cry" Dantes business and the fight with his twin brother Vergil.

    The definitive DMC3:SE experience in my opinion. The one thing this game needed was the style switching, and full weapon access that adds so much more to an already amazing game. The graphics are still a tad bit dated, but that has never interfered with the overall awesome gameplay, and being able to take DMC on the go?...not bad, the handheld mode can make it difficult for precise timingThe definitive DMC3:SE experience in my opinion. The one thing this game needed was the style switching, and full weapon access that adds so much more to an already amazing game. The graphics are still a tad bit dated, but that has never interfered with the overall awesome gameplay, and being able to take DMC on the go?...not bad, the handheld mode can make it difficult for precise timing with certain attacks, but it's still playable of course. A defining game of the Character Action genre, DMC3 saved the franchise after the disastrous release of DMC2 which took the complex but competent slate built up by the experimentation if the first game and wiped it clean of both style and difficulty. Hideaki Itsuno was brought in to turn the ship around and in the process created the DMC action systems we know and love today. This Switch port is the definitive console edition with a locked 60fps frame rate and Freestyle Style Switching all baked in. Highly recommend this to any fan of action games with a Switch and a Pro Controller.… Expand

    Definitely the best version of Devil may cry 3 available, the fact that you can change style mid-combat is fantastic. The only issue with this game is that there are a mild amount of demons that are a pain to kill, but overall it's a really great game.

    Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition is an awesome addition to the Switch library. The game that helped redefine the hack and slash genre is still really fun to play, and with some new and exclusive modes, Capcom shows that they are worried about improving the experience, instead of just porting it. The Switch edition opens up for way more stylish combos and, if you don't care for its 2005 graphics, you should give the game a chance (or a new chance), because this is DMC3's definitive edition.

    DMC3 is fast-paced, fun, and familiar. It offers up hours of hack and slash goodness which is true to the original release – for better or worse – whilst also including exclusive improvements to bring it into the modern day.
