So much padding was added to make the game longer than it should be. Following a dog on your skateboard for like a good 20mins with nothing interesting happening. Running up and down stairs in a building to fix some plumbing which was a chance to add a fun minigame/puzzle but instead is literally just press a button to turn the wheel. Fighting the same boring, easy enemies again and again. Zero replayability in this game. Expand

Story is weird and great but the frame rate and bugs just take so much away from the open word, combat and the story itself that i'm saddened that this is what we got. As of now, if you like playing games at a decent frame-rate (30+ fps) or not experiencing bugs like glitching through things at random then avoid this game but if you like low frame rate, subpar graphics and janky animations and cut-scenes then this game is for you but I just can't recommend as someone who appreciates video games and how they are made with care and passion. A subpar game that just does not live up to the hype or the original. Expand

The graphics are straight from a ps2 and the fps is barely more than 10. Even when the gameplay and story are good, these 2 things are completely unacceptable and make this game unplayable. Hard pass.

Very terrible optimization because of which I was not able to complete the game to the end. I was waiting for this game, and in the end I got a shovel of ****

Whether done on purpose to be "charming" or not, this game is a technical dumpster fire. I have motion sickness sometimes and this game literally made me sick. Avoid unless you like seeing frames drop to jumpy 10 FPS.

Now I can really understand peoples love for the quirky charm of this game, but it is 2020. Frame rates this low are unacceptable. End of.

I disregarded all the criticisms and bought the game after all. I really tried to play the game a few times but the performance is SO BAD (12FPS!!!) that with tears I had to put the game away somewhere in the dark corner of the basement. I might come back to it if the game will be cured from its demons. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. A message to developers: You guys, basically scammed me.

Невозможно играть в игру, из за жестких падений фпс! В довесок к этому, создатель игры в открытую сказал, что клал на игроков свой маленький болт.

York already gives his **** inclusivity speech. DP2 is **** and it has little to do with Lena and York's attitude towards her. After playing The Missing this seems like a huge step back, and makes York appear badly written when what he says and does contradict each other so much.
But whatever, Swery struck gold on DP1, on DP2 it feels like all he did was flip those nuggets of gold and try

Demasiado...mal dirigido. Muy malos controles,gráficas historia. Posiblemente con mayor calidad en jugabilidad podria ser mejor. Pero la falta de profesionalismo en hacerlo...no merece mejor puntuación.

Deadly Premonition is a mere shadow of the first episode.

One of the things that I hope people do not do is blame the poor performance of this game on the Nintendo Switch's hardware. Despite the game looking like a late-era PS2 game, it runs absolutely abysmally framerate-wise. It's as if the development team completed the game in 6 months and shipped it the next day with ZERO optimization anywhere. Simple indoor cutscenes run at sub-15 frames per second, only mitigated by the fact that only one thing is animated at a time so you don't notice. Despite that, it's as weird and charming as a SWERY game can get, and should be commended for being different in a day and age of homogeneous game design principles. That being said, no one can overlook the horrid performance issues, even stalwart defenders of this game. Pick it up when it eventually gets ported to PC or fixed (probably never). Expand

If you enjoy this game that is perfectly fine, but in this day and this quality of gameplay just leaves me speechless. To blindly rate this game above a 3 is just an outright lie.

An awful, terrible, annoying waste of time. All the people giving tens are wannabes that think if one person thinks something is avant-garde then they all should think it's a masterpiece, no matter the quality. Either that or they were just too blindly in love with the first game that they openly accept whatever trash Swery could conjure up. He's made good games, but this... is a bad game.

While the original was prime example of so bad it’s good, Deadly Premonition 2 is just bad. Agent Francis York Morgan is a fascinating character, but there’s nothing else worthwhile here except an acid trip story. It runs terribly and the gameplay is worse than the original.

It’s a good thing Agent Francis York Morgan is so charming, because the other characters are extremely unlikable, including a naked cowboy who admits to being in love with a 16-year old girl.. A far cry from the original game where the citizens of Greenvale were quirky and endearing.

The scattered blessings of Deadly Premonition 2 are often disguised by the game's many blemishes, but I'm still more than happy that I got to drink in another adventure with York and company. [Issue #49 – November/December 2020, p. 67]

Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise is exactly the sequel to Deadly Premonition a fan of the original should expect. This is a game that really respects the player’s intelligence, but puts a lot of faith into their willingness to keep an open mind.

Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise could have been a good game and a worthy successor to the original, if the developers did not try to copy “True Detective” (unsuccessfully), but create more interesting characters and non-standard atmospheric stories. Future patches can fix the framerate, errors and bugs, but they can't change the artificially prolonged plot and a very limited number of characters. And this is completely disappointing.
